Right now, you have to "keep the blanket" on Burke. He is here to
develop and learn under Corbin and not to have "sugar plum fairies"
dancing in the heads of the fans. The squad is 2-14 and it will get much worse
before it gets better and it will get better. "Slow and easy" must be
the course and not a rush to buy playoff tickets just because they beat a very
good Bulls team at home in overtime. Boozer came within an eyelash of winning
the game. The Rose distractions had a lot to do with the Bulls lack of focus.
The main issue right now is about the subs who come in for the developing Baby
Jazz. They are just not very good. In particular, I would be interested in
knowing about the status of a very good U of Kansas product, Brandon Rush.
The breeding grounds for NBA players, with rare exceptions, are the colleges of
the nation. Trey Burke was named the Outstanding College Player in the nation,
while leading his college team to the finals of the NCAA tourney.....The NBA has
bigger and faster players, but the game of basketball remains the same...All
this talk about all Burke has to "learn", and all that Corbin is going
to "teach" him is for the most part a bunch of malarkey.....That would
constitute an ineffectual endeavor with inadequate equipment. To make my
point....If you will recall just over a month ago, Corbin was talking about how
they had signed John Lucas III to "school" Burke on how to play the
point in the NBA...You have all seen them both in action now, so I ask you,
"Do you seriously want to see Trey Burke transformed into a John Lucas
III??"All Burke needs is court time to adjust his game to the speed of
the NBA game...The kid's got game, and a lot of it.
@JBQ "...just because they beat a very good Bulls team at home in
overtime."You make some good points but not everything was
accurate. The Bulls are 1-7 on the road and their FG% this season is just
.419%.That is the reason we won..because we played another team that
can't score the ball well and they were on the road and we weren't.Glad we were able to hold on and win the game. What we have
also learned is that Hayward is clearly NOT a first option and never will be.
We have watched him shoot and shoot and shoot and shoot with free rein every
game. How many games has he got hot and scored over 30 points? Not a
single game.He has a season high of 27. Only 5 of 15 games he hit
20 plus. 8 games 10-19 pts. Two times single digits. That is the
difference between the OKC rebuild and ours. They had Durrant who would have
breakout scoring games where he simply could not be stopped and would score 30
plus and that was mixed with poor games as well but the big games were there.Hayward gambled on his contract and he lost. Jazz win.
News Flash...The Jazz move up from the worst team in the league. Hollinger just
rated them 29th instead of 30th. With news like this Jazz
leadership should not do anything to change the team. We are rolling!
We don't want to move up. The key to this season is getting a top 3 pick.
The last thing we need is to end up in the 5-7 range again and get a solid
player, but not a franchise changer. We all know what will happen
here. We will get the top pick, draft Jabari Parker, and Lebron will sign with
Utah so show he can be a world-wide megastar, even in a small market. Now
excuse me while I return to my fantasy world.
Corbin and Lucas mentoring Burke? Please. Burke will develop in spite of his
Here's what i dont get...Corbin...mentroring? that'll be a joke...his
been the coach for what? got to the playoffs once because it was a fluke...and
if you are an up and coming player...you go straight to the best at your
position...and learn from them...and spending time with John Stockton...would
help...but he needs to listen....and be Open...but until Trey gets his
Malone...Trey will just try to score...so i think the best way for these guys to
learn...is to have the core players...coached at the same time...by John and
Karl...not separately...but together in a gym....and have them run drills...and
pick and rolls...and then pick John and Karl's brain...Hayward should also
be there...as to know when and where he could take his shots...but if we do get
Jabari....we needed to have a different approach....a new offensive scheme that
would utilize everyone's gifts...because clearly...Corbin doesnt know how
to do that
