If the gov doesn't like, or at least see the role of, government, he's
in the wrong business.
An interesting display of the separation of Church and State, wouldn't you
say? If that is what is wanted, why not say Gary Herbert, citizen,
attended...instead of "Governor, others..."
This sounds very positive. Peace on Earth; Good will to all men.
Favorite verses, like help the poor and needy. Oops, those are waaaay down the
list for the Gov.
This is how the elites declare that they "see" the Emperors New Clothes,
so they can declare themselves "worthy" of public office. You
all know the story.Play along!
Acts 4:34 Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as
were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the
things that were sold,35 And laid them down at the apostles' feet:
and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need.======
If you don't like the government dear Governor, we can elect someone else.
Although I no longer believe the Bible is the word of a god or reliable history,
I still have my favorite verses:Paul: "And now abideth faith,
hope and love, these three; but the greatest of these is love." (1Co
13:13)Jesus, in a self-referential parable: "But as for these
enemies of mine who did not want me to be king over them – bring them here
and slaughter them before me." (Lu 19:27)Defend the poor and
fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy. Deliver the poor and needy:
rid them out of the hand of the wicked. (Psa 82)For thou desirest
not sacrifice ... thou delightest not in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God
are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart... (Psa 51:16-17)Learn to do good; seek justice, rescue the oppressed, defend the orphan, plead
for the widow.(Isa 1:17)And what does the Yahweh require of you? To
act justly and to love mercy (Micah 6:8)To him that knoweth to do
good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin. (James 4:17)
They should do this more often. This is the time to seperate the "wheat
from the tares".LDS LiberalDon't worry, the
time of "consecration" is coming. If you are LDS you should know that.
And that when it does come, we will be told so by the Apostles and Prophet of
the Church. In the meantime nothing the Governor, or any other well off
person is doing by reading favorite Bible verses is wrong.
