Gooooo mighty Cougars!
Good luck Cougars! Make us proud!
Big game today!!!!Go Cougars!!!!
Well that was easy!Byu secondary playing like a byu secondary. 7-0 notre dame. Go Irish!
I like to see Chris B here, but not on the Utah live game.... but then, at this
moment, BYU has tied the game 7-7 and Utah is down 14-0. If this holds out,
Chris will be suffering.Too early to tell. I don't want to be
like Chris was on the Utah Oregon game.....
Chris BYou should be paying more attention to your own team which is
getting CRUSHED 21-0 in the 1st Quarter by the Washington State Cougars!
Looking like we're headed for 2 cougar LOSSES
byu started bad, and continues to look bad.Utah started bad, but is
right back in it now.Go IrishGo Utes
Well this pretty much sums it up:Told ya!
this "great" byu defense is getting DOMINATED.LOL!Get a double dose of crow ready byu fans. Whats better than 1
cougar loss? Two cougar losses, with Utah(as usual) getting the better of the
17-7. LOLAnd no, its not byu in the lead.
Chrissy, however BYU is playing, it can't hold a candle to how poorly the
Utes are doing. Try not to embarrass yourself today
Chris,Stop commenting on BYU articles and start worrying about your
mighty Utes who are losing to Washington State
And its another byu...PUNTThis game is playing out, well, exactly as
we thought it would. Notre Dame showing their superior athletic ability and
coaching. byu secondary staying true to what a byu secondary is. A
lot of byu "exposure" today.LOL
Is this the "exposure" byu fans keep talking about? One thing for sure,
you're finally getting the true national audience(outside of members just
of your faith) watching your games. But that's not you. Its
I think I've figured out byu's game plan on defense: Just tackle the
guy before the ball gets there. LOL.Go IRISH! They are
my church school. And they a premier school, on and off the field.
Chris, go worry about your team that is currently losing to Washington State.
Nice to see Chria B is watching the BYU game and not the fiasco in Washington
where Utah has given up two pick-sixes in a row. Go COUGARS and GOUGARS!!
Anae needs to mix it up a little and stop running on EVERY 1st down.BYU's defense is going to wear down in the 2nd half if the offense
doesn't put together some long drives.Go Cougs!
Been switching between the byu notre dame game and the Utah Washington state.
The difference to me is Utah has shot themselves in the foot, but is responding
very nicely and has the momentum. Byu is flat out outmanned. They
are better than byu. It looks like Wisconsin all over. You can talk about
"execution" all you want, but Notre Dame is simply better.Look for Notre Dame to continue to control both sides of the ball and win
comfortably by 14-20.Look for Utah to come back and win, just like I
said.0% chance byu wins0$ chance Utah losesMark it
Big stage Cougars. Make us proud and make some gosh darn tackles. We all know
that the refs are making all the wrong calls. Gosh darn refs.
Unfortunately, this looks like the Wisconsin game all over. We are being
dominated by their offensive line. You cannot win unless you can control the
line of scrimmage and we are not on both sides of the ball. Disappointing.
However, the balm is that the Utes are getting hammered by Washington State.
Right now both BYU and Utah are down by a touchdown. The difference between the
two programs? BYU is getting beat by one of historically best programs in all
of college football--and one that is on the fringe of being ranked. Utah is
losing to one of the worst teams in all of college football. Go
Cougars and Cougars!
Chris B is right. Typical BYU can't show up for big games. All the big
games we hoped to win are all lost. 4 yrs to utah, who knows how many years to
This has been BYU's MO for decades. Bottom line is that BYU cannot
consistently get the athletes they need (especially the "big" boys) and
they are never going to be any better than "a good team". I am a huge
BYU fan, but history doesn't lie.
This game brought out the worst in my southern redneck grammar.
The only thing we can mark down today is another year when the utes are home for
the holidays. Finally a Cougar team that takes the community college from Salt
Lake to the wood shed. 49 to 37. Go Cougars!
The last offensive possession epitomizes why Robert Anae should NOT be calling
So predictable on offense. And what is the deal with not throwing to the
sidelines in a final set of drives when you burned your timeouts ? We need a
vicious offensive line, time to shake it up in spring ball.
Tough loss. They were able to hang in there and make a game of it.
Bad day for the Cougs and worse for the utes. Robert "run up the middle"
Anae need some innovation and a lot more imagination. BTW recruit O-linemen.Chris B and 2013 Ute Seniors SWEEP byU 4-0, your team won't even
make it to the "Welcome Doormat" bowl this year. Enjoy your holiday
KVN/Hoff want 0-4 against UTAH,Correction on your post. It should
read 0% chance Utah wins.Enjoy your couch this holiday season.
Chris, and all of your incarnations: I hear crickets chirping
@KVN/Hoff want 0-4 against UTAH... didn't you mean "went", not
"want"? lol, typically uteI marked it down and saw another
great year where Utah will NOT GO BOWLING! LOL! The utes are the worst team in
the PAC-12. Perhaps you can ask the PAC-12 to let you go back to the MWC next
year where you might actually get bowl eligible.
christyKVN and Hoffman will finish their careers with 4 straight
bowls and 3 bowl wins already in the bag.Utah's seniors will
finish their careers with back-to-back couch potato bowls.Enjoy the
pillow fight in the Rockies; it's the only thing you've got left from
another losing season on the hill.
Robert Anae continues to be unprepared for the good teams. There is no
creativity, no precision, no tight ends, few screens (none executed well), no
crossing patterns. The offense is slow to the punch. The RB's are good,
but the holes are not there when they try to hit them. Timing is bad. The
defense kept the game reachable, but mistakes doomed the Cougars. Hoffman is
amazing. It was a decent game with an average team visiting South Bend, at
least today. Congratulations for being great young men. I hope we can win the
last two games so that my 8-5 predicted season can be exceeded. I set the bar
Disappointing to watch the game end in a loss with the defense giving us a
chance to pull it off. Anae ceases to puzzle me with some of the offensive
calls. Who decides to run the ball with a few minutes left and no timeouts?
Lasike looked great in this game and it's too bad that he didn't get
the ball more.
MacNasty:"BTW recruit O-linemen"Actually a lot of the
blame needs to be on Taysom Hill. He had a lot of time to throw the ball most of
the time, but often didn't throw the ball to receivers that were open when
seeing the replays, or at least throw it away. Then there were many plays where
our receivers just weren't getting open. I thought BYUs O-line play was
actually better in this game than against Wisconsin, but still needing
improvement. The reason Wisconsin and ND beat BYU is their O-lines controlled
our D-line and owned the line of scrimmage. I agree we need to recruit O
lineman, but we need a better D-line as well. Chrissy...if u
weren't so virulent toward BYU I would actually feel sorry for u...but u
insist on embarrassing yourself. That weak, horrible Wazzu team rung up your
supposedly great defense to the tune of 587 yards and 49 points. Why so quiet
now? Did you burn your crow...is it tough and hard to swallow? "LOL
We talk about who we get to "play" but isn't the goal to WIN some
of these? Our offensive coaches have no imagination, our players play with no
intensity, our whole team just looks pathetic. BYU has not won a game of
consequence since the '90's. I just wonder what (if anything) is going
through Bronco's head during these fiasco's.And
please....FIRE ANAE NOW!!!
BYU and Utah have a lot in common. Both have fans who think they deserve
recognition on the national stage and both are disasters on the field. Yes, Utah
has beaten BYU four straight years but after seeing the rest of their season, I
think they're focusing too much on one game.I say all you
people out in Utah get big heads when you beat one or two teams at home and
don't have a clue how good the competition is out here in the rest of the
country. Both programs stink!!
So Utah plays a tough schedule and won't go bowling but beat BYU every
year. BYU loses to teams at the bottom of the ACC and PAC 12 but plays a weak
enough schedule to go bowling to a third tier bowl playing the number 6th team
in a conference and they brag about it. If that meets your expectations go for
Flatlander,BYU played an above average schedule this year. They are
a good football team but not quite ready for the national stage. They played
well enough to go bowling. No need to tear down the Y because Utah couldn't
take care of business. The Utes have the Y's number, but that's not
what matters. How you end is.
flatlanderUnfortunately for U, your spin doesn't reflect
reality.BYU did NOT play a weak schedule!BYU's 2013
schedule was more difficult than ANY schedule the Utes have ever played in their
entire history, prior to this season. In fact, BYU played a Top 20
schedule, and beat SIX bowl teams that won at least SEVEN games, including a
couple of teams, Boise State and Houston, that Utah has NEVER beaten.Bottom line: Utah's wins versus BYU and Stanford were as much a fluke as
Virginia's win over BYU.It's laughable that you're
mocking a bowl that is tied to the PAC that Utah wouldn't have been good
enough to qualify for even if the Utes had won their last two games to become
@ Flatlander. At least we won't have to play utah in that (3rd) tier Bowl
Game. Becasue they are not good enough to make (any) bowl. We are going to get
a "better-than-utah" pac-12 team and kick their butts. What will you
have to say at that time?
BYU doesn't play well east of the Mississippi. I'm not surprised they
lost. Disappointed, but not surprised. Too many missing pieces due to
injuries. Those calling for Anae to be fired: you probably called for
the same thing last time. Then you got Doman and proceeded to blame him for
everything. It doesn't matter who the OC or HC is, you'll probably
continue to complain.
Greatly disappointed at how the Cougars looked today. As I type I'm
listening to KSL's post-game show and nodding to most of what Greg, Nate
and Mark are saying. Bronco needs to force something different with the
offense, especially on 3rd downs and in the Blue Zone. But at least
. . .While we "only" lost by 10 to a national team who
played in the NC game last year, while the super-awesome PAC team on the hill
loses by 12 to a bottom-dweller of it's conference to silence all--well,
most of--the haters. Silver linings will have to suffice tonight.
For all the talk and anticipation for this team, guess what, the offense scored
fewer points and the defense gave up more points than last year's team did.
Plus, this was a much weaker ND squad than last year's.Beat a
poor Nevada team, play a second tier team from the PAC 12 in the soda pop bowl
and call it a season.
re: flatlander"BYU loses to teams at the bottom of the ACC and
PAC 12 but plays a weak enough schedule to go bowling to a third tier bowl
playing the number 6th team in a conference and they brag about it. If that
meets your expectations go for it."BYU's SOS is currently
ranked 24th in the country... that's ahead of Alabama, Oregon, FSU,
Wisconsin, Stanford, Ohio State, etc. Best come up with a different argument.
Robert A. needs to learn what to call in the blue zone. Andy Boyce had some
suggestions in the post game show. Robert can you be humble and talk to Andy.
How is a prearranged bowl game any better than not going to one? Is BYU that
insecure?Another nationally televised game = another BYU loss. And this
wasn't on ESPN! LOL!Congrats on your signature win against Idaho
Sorry guys, Utah's SOS is 3, ND is 6 and Virginia ia 19. Y lost to teams
with tougher schedules. I'm not a Ute fan just amazed at what Y fans brag
about. If you can't win then you brag about SOS. Top 25 Teams do not brag
about just being bowl eligible as 50% of teams are bowl eligible. OK so your
content with being in the top 50%.
Okay everybody, it is more than quite clear that Ute fans and Cougar fans alike
are upset today and with good reason. The fact of the matter is,
neither fan base has anything to brag about right now. Both BYU and Utah had
important games today and neither team delivered. Ute fans. Yes,
your team has beaten BYU four years in a row. CONGRATS! But when it comes to
winning key games in the PAC 12, the conference you proudly belong to now, your
team under performs again and again, and that has nothing to do with BYU. You
wanted to be in the PAC 12, right? Well, you asked for it, you got it. Cougar fans. You beat Texas, Houston, Boise State and Utah State.
WONDERFUL! But in your three biggest games this season (Utah, Wisconsin and
Notre Dame) you could not deliver. Too many mistakes, especially on the offense.
You want to be a part of the big boys in college football? Fine, but you have to
beat a few of them first.
RE: NightOwlAmerica"Congrats on your signature win against Idaho
State."I don't get these kinds of comments. BYU played
well against Notre Dame and Wisconsin, two teams that at the beginning of the
season were expected to be losses. BYU BEAT several teams that will be bowling
this year, thereby exceeding expectations for this season. If there was a
signature win this season it was destroying #15 ranked Texas. And
NightOwl I'd be careful about dissing Idaho State, I believe you (the Utes)
play them next season. If you can't beat the dregs of the PAC12 (i.e. WSU,
CU) ISU might be more formidable than you're expecting.
@NightOwlAmerica"How is a prearranged bowl game any better than
not going to one?" Aren't most bowls somewhat prearranged? The Kraft
Fight Hunger bowl is a WHOLE lot better that not going to a bowl game and
especially not going to a bowl game for two years.
Anyone else notice that Anae looked lost on the sideline? he just can't
think quickly enough. When the cougars get in the red zone I cringe because I
know we probably won't get a touchdown.
Nothing like a ute defeat to ease the pain.
I'll say it -- BYU isn't a great team. It did beat Texas handily, but
it needed to win at least two out of three against Utah, Wisconsin, and Notre
Dame to lay claim to greatness, and of course it lost all three. I think the Y
has a good chance to win its bowl game, and I'll be rooting for them, but I
have no delusions about its being a top-25 team this year.
News Flash to Anane: Better play calls need to be done all over the field and
not just the red zone. Once again you were out coach by an inferior team. Next
season needs to see a huge improvement or all the staff should be gone.
Tough loss for BYU, i wish them well the rest of the way!
@flatlander,Why join the PAC 12 if you're going to whine of the
results?Excuses are a sign of weakness.
At worfGive it a rest Sporto!
For those folks who are expecting creativity and productivity in the play
calling I give you this quote from Robert Anae: "I believe we didn't
score enough points on offense and that is the reason we lost this game."
upinthenight"How is a prearranged bowl game any better than not
going to one?"Only a jealous Utah fan would pose such a
@worf: we had millions $)( of reasons to join the Pac12. Over time that will
make a huge difference in all sports, not just football.
The Y loses to both Wisconsin and ND by about the same point spread - fairly
close games but BYU just doesn't have the QB who can deliver when it
counts. Far too many incomplete passes that Hill just doesn't seem to be
able to beat good defenses yet. When he does have open receivers against good
teams he seems to get flustered and his accuracy disappears. Maybe he gets
better ...more accurate and polished next season?? BYU has only one decent win
and that is against Texas and seems to be about all Bronco can deliver each
@WorfI'm not a Ute fan, thought it was stupid to join the PAC 12 but
they went for the money and they will become the next Washington State. The Y
made a gamble going football independence but sold out it's other sports.
I just don't understand why the Y is satisfied with being bowl eligible
when 50% of teams are. Most teams consider it a failure to not make a BCS bowl
or at least play tier 2 on January 1.
Tough game to watch. BYU was outmanned at the lines and Taysom has to play
better in big games. That being said, Anae cannot call a good game. Ran the QB
draw like 5 or 6 times, worked once. Pound up the middle with Jamal it goes no
where! So lets run a flee flicker for a big play (he forgot that those only work
when you can actually run the ball up the middle effectively, see ND). Point is,
BYU does not quite have the athletes to play vanilla and they need to be more
aggressive and creative in their play calling. (See BSU and Chris Peterson)
Bronco talks about reaching new heights with the program and wins on the road at
Wisconsin and ND are what it takes to do that, but he hasn't delivered.
Agreed Idaho Cougar Fan,I'm not buying into the hype anymore.
BYU needs to start delivering consistently instead of being so up and down.
It's good BYU is going bowling this year, but if they draw USC like some
pundents say, I don't see BYU pulling out the W. GFGH only works when
you're not talking about three and outs.
flatlanderWho said BYU fans are "satisfied" with the Fight
Hunger Bowl? It'll be a fun bowl, in a great location, and BYU
will be playing a decent opponent, but the vast majority of BYU fans expect much
more from BYU, although ANY bowl is better than the couch potato bowl that the
kids on the hill are becoming accustomed to.
Thanks CougarSunDevil.Congrats on the Pac 12 South title. I would
like Bronco to be a little more like Coach Graham and be more aggressive on both
sides of the ball.
I'm beginning to think that the read option is getting figured out. Oregon
gets whacked by AZ. BYU's read option is going nowhere against big teams.
Stanford (very big team) is beating option teams. Stack the box and put pressure
on the QB. This was a good year with some good wins. Two very bad losses, and
two losses to superior teams. I can live with that.I like Hill, but
he's not there yet. But lets not jump off the bandwagon; he has just
finished his first year at QB. He'll be fine. The O-line was patchwork this
year. They'll be better next year (hopefully).Very disappointed
in Anae's play calling. But if your QB can't find anyone open and
they're stopping the run, you're gonna look bad. But I'd like to
see something other than read option next year. I think it is on the way out.
But what do I know.Bottom line: BYU is not top tier this year, but
light years ahead of last year. Give Notre Dame credit. They came to play. Maybe
next time BYU will have the horses to play too.
I am truly disappointed in our mediocre Cougars! I was hoping for so much
better, as this year's squad appears just as lackluster as last
year's. It was to be a 'teaching moment' with water cooler
friends of other faiths that our fighting Cougars were going to establish when
in the end, it now will only be a 'smile' and embarrassment, taking in
their comments and having to agree, BYU does not belong on the same field with
'real' football programs. Further, stats will show BYU is incapable of
even besting their 'independent' teams as the one with the best
record. How are we going to compete for a slot in the Big Ten or anywhere else
playing mostly-just-average like this? (But hey, at least we make good money
for the school, right fans!)
I don't think Anae is the problem at all. Remember, Hill is only a
Sophomore and had only started like 2 games coming into this season. I like the
read option, but I see Hill making the wrong read many times. Not sure if he
even is supposed to read, they can run designed plays that look like the read
option. Hill needs work on mechanics in the pocket, footwork especially. To Ute fans on here, any bowl game is better...always better. Teams do not
consider it a failure if they don't get to a BCS bowl. That just does not
fly. A winning season is a winning season. Also, BYU has 6 wins against teams
that are going to bowls this year, Utah State, Texas, Houston, Boise St, Georgia
Tech, and Middle Tennessee State (yup, they will be going). The Utes have 3
wins against bowl eligible teams. Overall, BYU is having more success and is the
better program...no matter what has happened head to head lately. Also, the
Utah game is not a s big a thing to BYU program as it is to Utah.
Sick of all these comments from the team and players saying:"We are
excited for the challenge"Can they be excited and win for once. They
beat ISU and walk around campus thinking they have won the National
I dont understand why any fan of BYU is disappointed by the win loss record the
past 10 years. What have they ever accomplished since LaVell left to indicate
they are a better team than any mid major. It is what it is, and hoping and
praying will never make the cougars better. If they would have hired Gary
Andersen they would have beat Wisconsin.
It makes no difference how "uptempo" your offense is, when the play
calling is so predictable and unimaginative. Also, is it just me or when you
have a guy like Adam Hine, who seems always a step away from breaking every
kickoff return, a 7'2" high jumper IN HIGH SCHOOL, do you think you
could add him as a more frequent threat on offense? It just seems logical that,
given the lack of true athletes that the Y is not able to recruit year in and
year out, when you get one purely because he is a faithful returned missionary
and BYU is where he "felt like he should be" for heavens sake
(literally!) use the kid!
The number of strawman arguments made by Ute fans is absolutely amazing. BYU
did not walk around like they were national champions after beating Idaho State,
they realized it was what it was. The team and most fans recognized it as a
practice game. Yes, BYU lost to Wisconsin and Notre Dame, they are not a great
team this year, but they are still a good team. At 4 and 7, Utah is not even a
good team, period. There is not such thing as a good team with 4 wins and 7
losses. Under the circumstances that BYU recruits, I think they do an amazing
job and I am so proud of our team. We have coaches who do things the right way
and they are successful, they have many more winning seasons and bowl game
seasons than not.
@ BYU9293"Also, the Utah game is not a s big a thing to BYU
program as it is to Utah."....Um, I'm pretty sure
BYU's best player called the Utah game BYU's "superbowl"
Doesn't get much bigger than that.
2ferKVN may be a great player, but he was speaking only for himself
when he labeled this year's game as BYU's "superbowl".
Chris B,You say that ND showed their superiority. OK, but then also
admit that Washington State, Oregon State, UCLA, ASU, USC, Oregon, and Arizona
are superior to the little University of Utah. Well, not ALL is lost: you have
Colorado coming up. But, as usual, that will be the END OF YOUR SEASON. But even
then, you once again have BYU's bowl game that will give you an opportunity
to continue your interest in a college football game.
The sky is not falling. A ten point loss to ND on the road is hardly a blowout.
If Lasike had had not come up five yards short on that late run the game could
have gone either way. My biggest complaint is why BYU always settles for field
goals instead of going for a TD. 4th and one or two yards, game on the line, why
not go for the score. Fake a FG or punt attempt, add some excitement to the
game. East coast coug. Neither the U or BYU programs stink. Utah lost their
starting QB two years in a row. Utah beat 5th ranked Stanford, BYU ranked
Texas. Come on. Some disappointing losses for both schools. If BYU Stinks why
would ND, Wisconsin, Texas put them on the schedule.
I believe BYU fans and the school itself now have different wants from the
football program.Fans want to beat the rival on the hill and be in
"BCS discussions" and be selected to prestigious bowl games. Bronco has
not done this consistently. BYU/church officials want the program
to get "national exposure" (lds exposure in essence) and television
contract money. Bronco has done that. There is the rub and I doubt
it will change any time soon.
If,if,if. BYU was outplayed by a stronger opponent with blue choppers on the
line. You got beat. Quit whining, mistakes apart of byu games ,it has bugged me
for years. Tightn it up this week and beat Reno. Fans almost as bad as ute
Obviously BYU must recruit bigger, stronger, faster linemen! Last year's
crew was weak and this year we still can't compete well enough with the
likes of Wisconsin and Notre Dame. But, there's another problem. Robert
Anae still is not calling plays well. That's the problem in the red zone.
His plays are exactly what the opposition expects--most of the time. What's more in Saturday's game, when time was running out, Anae had
extremely poor clock management. That is not the time to call running plays in
the middle of the field. Yet 2 of the last 4 plays were runs. That's plain
stupid! At least incomplete passes would have stopped the clock. BYU better work
on 2 minute drills. We have been horrible in that department when we've had
to come from behind. I attribute that ALL to Robert Anae.
Tough loss for the Cougs, even tougher for the U. BYU going to SFO in Dec, Utah
regroup and better luck next year. Look forward, not backward.
The Y spent so much time in the second half against Idaho State trying to find
ways not to score so they wouldn't run up the score, that it must have
carried over to the game in South Bend. So many chances in the red zone, but it
looked like they were trying to find ways not to score. It worked.
Cougar lineman are big enough. They are not strong enough or fast enough. Most
successful lines stay intact during the year and they don't shuffel guys in
and out. Anae's system for rotating O lineman is plain stupid and hads
cost us big games all year. We should have never lost to Virginia, Utah or
Notre Dame. Wisconsin is the only team I felt the Cougars should have lost to.
Using a new line every week is a joke. All games are won in the trenches and
BYU just plain got pushed around. The O line is Soft and the D Line isn't
strong enough. #44 on the D line was a non factor. No tackles no QB hurries.
He's been a good player except against N.D. and Wisconsin. He's just
plain too weak. Kafusi and the nose takle are fine players But Peck can't
handle the stronger lineman. We need to beef up both lines, finding players who
can stay healthy and who are committed to getting stronger. And we need an O.C.
that does not choke in every big game.
I've been a rabid BYU fan for over 35 years. This really sucks. I
can't describe how sick I am of hearing "we just execute and it's
a different game"...Our O line looks like the 150th best in the nation.
There's virtually NEVER a hole for an RB to break through, and on passing
plays, defenses come across like they're coming out of the blocks in a
track meet. RB's very rarely block blitzing defenders, and the last two
games that I've observed, Williams has been one of the worst offenders.
Nearly all of our linemen, both sides, look slower and weaker than opposing
lines. I find that hard to believe, but it keeps happening. Another performance
like the last three and we'll probably lose to Nevada too. Yes, even the
blowout of ISU didn't exhibit excellent line play. This unit is by far the
weakest and costliest link on the team. It all starts with the Offensive line,
and ours is so bad that it's hard to analyze any other aspect of our
offense. Also, we should probably stop running into the middle of a stacked box.
It was a difficult game to watch, and a tough loss. But you can't place
all the blame on Anae or Hill. Hill is finishing up his first year as a
starter, and Anae is trying to instill this new offense. Next year I am hoping
that both Anae and Hill are comfortable enough with the GFGH system and EACH
OTHER, for Hill to audible out and call his own plays. There hasn't been
many audibles called at all this year. But I believe that once Hill uses this
experience and correctly reads the defense, that this GFGH system will work.I don't like to point the finger and blame when things go wrong, so
I'm just going to attribute the loss to being out played. ND wanted the
win, we just wanted to "execute." There's the difference in the
mentality of the players on the field. I just hope they get that instinct to
drive on and push through for the "W." Best of luck in Nevada Cougs,
and best of luck in SF. I would like to see some grit and determination in
these last 2 games.GO COUGARS!!
Well, tough loss on national television. It's obvious this offense needs a
lot of work. BYU needs a solid, consistent O-line that controls the line of
scrimmage. Taysom is a fantastic athlete, but he has work to do on the passing
game (get rid of the ball). Plus, he needs to get the blessing to audible out
of play-calls. Anae looks rusty to me, he looked confused on the sideline
during the Notre Dame game. Having said all the negative, I'm still a
die-hard Cougar fan and I hope that with one more year of experience, Hill will
improve his passing game and Anae will find a comfortable groove in his play
calling. But the main problem is this O-line, they have to get that fixed ASAP
or next year will be the same scenario. If BYU can control the line of
scrimmage, they will win these tough games on the road like ND and Wisconsin.
Excited for the bowl game!GO COUGS!
This offense isn't going to bring Byu to the next level, Just recruit a
true passing QB and then maybe Byu could be good. Until then Byu won't rise
and shout on any level. After the Byu touchdown Notre Dame realized all they had
to do was drop back in zone, double Hoffman and Hill would take off after 2
seconds which would result in a punt. On the other side Notre Dame destroyed Byu
on the ground, which setup big pass plays because Notre Dame's QB can
