Those 25% would be Leach, Sarkesian and Whittingham.Go Cougars!
Sounds like Whitt can work for Leach if he loses his job in SLC. It will take
brilliant coaching to avoid a loss in Pullman. I think Kalani is up to the
task. Hope Erickson and Whitt are. With a loss, KW's job is in serious
jeopardy. Need to step up the recruiting again for a QB. Erickson
doesn't like his choices for next year. Calling Chris B: Why
can't we find a QB recruit with more than three stars? We're in the
PAC-12, aren't we? And the best we can do is three stars with offers from
Tulane and Louisiana Tech? We waved good-bye to the WAC and MWC to compete with
Conference USA for a QB commitment? The best QB even considering Utah has only
three stars. As we've been told countless times, don't stars
matter? In Whitt's defense, the year started off tragically and
it's been one problem after another since then, except for the Stanford
miracle when both the offense and the defense played so well. While we all
hoped the same team would show up the next week, the Stanford win clearly was an
Good matchup, but I think Utah will win this. Win the last two, and let the
cards fall where they may. Trolling a Utah thread with that same old BYU bias,
interesting, very, very interesting. Yet par for the course. Kind of like losing
four in a row to your rival. GO UTAH!
My main concern with this game is that the U has struggled against the pass.Utah has a great pass rush, but the Air Raid offense is based on quick release
passes. The wide stances that Wazzu uses will attempt to negate
Reilly's pass rush (defenders simply have to run farther) so I think the
key is a lot of pressure coming up the center of the line.I think the Utes
have a good chance of pulling it out.But the Air Raid is an offense that
aims at the weaknesses of the U.Hopefully they pull it off.
That's cute. For some reason I assumed Whittingham was friends with
anyone. Ah well.
Aren't some of you tired of making ridiculous predictions every week?
It's just as old as reading a certain persons "mark it down"
comments. Coach Whit isn't in jeopardy of losing his job just
yet. It's still a little premature to think so. This time next year may be
different. We'll see. Go Utes!
Pullman in November can be a nasty place to play: wet, cold and windy. The home
crowd has really been energized with Leach's arrival. If the Utes
don't come completely dialed in (that includes the sideline staff) they
will be out-coached and embarrassed.
79 Ute. I don't consider Stanford an anomaly. It shows how important
depth is. When Utah is healthy, they can play with anybody. But when you have
to go down to number 2 or 3 in many positions late in the season, there are
problems. That is the biggest difference I see in changing conferences. We
used to have a couple of "gimmee" games a year to rest up and get
better. It was kind of like a bye week with an easy scrimmage t the end. In
the Pac12 there is no "gimmee" game. Even Cal and Colorado have the
athletes to step up and beat you.
@79UteThe only place on earth where Coach Whitt is in danger of losing his
job is this web site. Leave the rumor mongering out of it.
@WA_Alum&DadAs opposed to the semi-tropical climate of SLC?
Not as good of a coach as Bronco.
@81Ute:I wasn't rumor mongering - I don't hear any rumors
where I live and if you will re-read the post I wasn't passing on rumors.
Aside from the sarcasm of the first sentence of my post, I'm expressing
real concern that KW can't continue to keep his job when we're
finishing each season just ahead of CU. A loss at Pullman means another losing
season overall. I'd be thrilled to see KW stay. I can't think of
anyone I'd like to see replace him, but you have to admit that WSU is
playing better as the year has progressed and we are playing worse. That
doesn't bode well for a win or the future of the coach. To stay he's
got to step up the recruiting - especially at QB where we have been so thin this
year, last year, and the year before and especially when it's being
reported in the press that Dennis Erickson is expressing a lack of confidence
the current QB's.
