Judge issues stay just 7 hours before scheduled execution
After all that and he only received a single death sentence? The 2 cold-blooded
murders in Utah should have brought him the death penalty - in my not-so-legal
I would have hoped for a long and miserable life followed by a slow and painful
death from some lingering disease. Lethal injection is the coward’s way
out; a quick and painless end to a life that brought so much sorrow and grief.
There will be justice in the end and he will reap his reward.
Why in the world is this man still alive and being supported by taxpayers?
Something is broken.
NT:"He has been given six life sentences, including two in Utah for
the deaths of Martin and Fields."The system is so stupid. This
man who admitted to killing 22 people should have been sent back to his maker
immediately. I don't care if he "changed" in prison. Let God
decide what to do with him. I can't stand how people advocate against the
death penalty. The death penalty should be executed swiftly instead of wasting
money, resources, and time on these types.
I don't believe the Government owns life and death no matter what terrible
things this man did.
Stott rationalizing why Franklin didn't get the death penalty in Utah.
The Utah trials were the only ones in which Franklin was convicted without a
confession. In his other cases, there simply wasn't enough evidence to
convict him without a confession. Ultimately, he did confess to all his crimes,
including the killing in Missouri which put him into that state's execution
chamber. After he was convicted in his first trial in Utah, he was sent to
the United States Penitentiary in Marion. On his third day there he was attacked
by a group of black inmates, stabbed multiple and almost killed. After that he
served every single day of his time in isolation, "the hole." Thats the
only way he survived all those years - had he been in "population,"his time would have been up a long time ago.SLPD Detectives Don Bell,
Ronald Millard, John Johnson and others put in a long hours and hard work tocrack that case. They all deserve thanks and credit for their work.
