I was stoked to see Rush play given his history and credentials on defense and
three point shooting. Then I saw him play in that game. He looked like....he
had not seen a basketball in 5 years.Wow did he like slow, loafy,
lost, and completely NOT athletic. Not sure exactly what the deal is
but he acted like he just finished a Thanksgiving dinner instead of someone who
was excited to get back out on the floor to play after being out that long.Either that or he is completely frightened about his knee from a mental
standpoint.I sure hope something improves with that situation.Burkes has disappeared into the abyss. I thought he would develop. He
has developed into a poor shooting turnover machine. Unfortunate because he has
an NBA skill of being able to draw contact.
Brandon Rush still needs to learn the system? What system? Certainly there are
no defensive rotations. Ditto for defending the pick and roll. Oh, there is
that play where you give the ball to Hayward ... play to his weakness ... and
see if he can break down the defense .. or turn the ball over.
There is a valid reason why Golden State paid the Jazz money and draft picks to
take Rush and company's contracts from them. And I assure you, it
wasn't because they still have a lot to offer. If anyone is counting
on those past-their-prime players to help out much, they are going to be sorely
@TatorsThe reason the Jazz agreed is because of the salary
flexibility....they could keep signing one year deals and make sure their key
players are protected...
