And yet, Democrats and Republicans, who don't understand social policy or
economics, are clueless about history--obviously--as well!
Hunkering down and paying bills and trying to get out of debt. Yes, I suppose
that is what most of us are trying to do. Much of economy is psychology. If
people have faith in the economy as being good, or on the upswing, there will be
more spending for things other than necessities. We'll see, this Christmas
season just how people are feeling about non essential spending. I do wonder
though, if the model of the 1930s is applicable to todays economy because todays
economy is so much more tied to what is going on in the rest of the world. And
one would think that if government were able to bring back an economy by
spending, we would/should now be out of the recession with 6 trillion in debt
spending having been done in the last 5 years.
