cool. good luck to you, young man!
Put me in coach..I could get a triple double against these teams.
I love this team! Wright is a very exciting addition. I am looking forward to
seeing him team up with Loveridge and the boys for a great season.
Looking forward to when the Utes meet the Cougars! It sounds like this kid is a
force the Cougars can't afford to underestimate! Hope they won't take
him and the Utes lightly when they meet up. I'm already beaming with
excitement! Go Utes and Aggies before and after you meet our
Stats are great and all, but the only stat that matters is Wins, and Utah will
get plenty of those playing inferior opponents. Go get those W's while you
can, pad those "important stats". Because apparently according to your
own fan base, you're in the Premier conference of champions and once
conference play begins there will be very few W's.Lets have a
contest for a new mascot, instead of the Utah Utes, lets come up with something
better. Here are a few of my ideas. U of U BCS's. U of U PAC
12's. U of U premier conference. Something to remind us how elite you are
and your conference affiliation. Because we forget. I'm way
overweight and never go work out, but i love my PREMIER Gold's gym
@StaythecourseWas your comment supposed to be funny? That was a
nice attempt. Anyway... I'm stoked for this season! It's
time to get U basketball back on track and coach K is taking them in the right
direction. It's players like Delon that are going to help us get back to
where we were in the 90s. Good luck Delon and GO UTES!!!
Cletus where are you? I love reading your comments. They truly make me laugh
out loud every day. I would like to hear your ideas and others for a
new mascot for University of Utah? Cmon, chime in people.
Down underRe: "Put me in coach..I could get a triple double
against these teams."Try to remember it was only 25 minutes and
he was close to a QUADRUPLE double.
@downunderDon't worry, your Cougs will have plenty of
opportunities to get triple doubles later in the season in the WCC.
@UtenationActually I used to cheer for U of U back in the 90's,
but ever since this whole PAC 12 elite membership that ute fans beat their chest
with it is very hard to cheer for the U of U any longer. I don't think
i'm alone either. I think the U of U has lost a lot of level headed fans
like me because of this arrogance. I'd like to hear your thoughts on this
If Wright is a "stat sheet stuffer", what the heck is Tyler Haws?
@StaythecourseSo you're saying you stopped cheering for a team
simply because a few fans got a little to high on the PAC-12? What a great
reason to stop being a fan! I think if you stopped reading the comments posted
on UTAH articles then you would find that not everyone is so PAC-12 crazy. Yeah
we are proud to be in the PAC-12 but most fans care more about the team then the
conference we're in.You must not have been a true fan if you
let those that comment on DE news annoy you. For example, I am a St. Louis
Cardinals baseball fan. Would I stop cheering for them because other fans over
emphasize the fact that they are an elite baseball team?....NO! that's
absurd. I get annoyed by those types of fans but wouldn't stop cheering
for my team.
A few previous comments have made my point already, but I find the headline of
this article amusing. It's amusing because the entire non-conference
schedule this year appears to have been crafted so as to allow the Utes to
stuff/pad their stats and wins.I could write an article titles
"Non Conference Schedule is a Stat Sheet Stuffer for the Utes."I'm not trying to bash the Utes, and I do wish them luck this year. I
hope they improve over the past couple years and regain their mojo, but
honestly, the non-conference schedule is embarrassing.
Still Blue after all these yearsRe: "If Wright is a "stat
sheet stuffer", what the heck is Tyler Haws?"Answer:
He's a fantastic player and particularly scorer. Question for
you: Are we going to need to compare Haws to every player an article is written
about? Cause that could get old fast.
BigSkiesRe: "I could write an article titled 'Non
Conference Schedule is a Stat Sheet Stuffer for the Utes.'"______So certainly you must realize we could also write an article
entitled, "Conference Schedule is a Stat Sheet Stuffer for the Cougs."
Interesting that it was assumed from my previous comment that I was trying to
compare the BYU schedule to the Utah schedule. For the record, I wasn't.
My previous comments stands by itself as a simple commentary on the Ute's
non-conference schedule.However... as long as we're on the
topic. ESPN ranks BYU strength of schedule at 21, with Utah ranked at 42.
Big Skies and fellow countryman,Thank you for the stats, and the truth,
as much as it hurts the u nation. Even with a tougher in-conference schedule
the utes are still ranked lower in SOS.Now that is how to set up a program
for failure over the long haul.
It's nice to have a player that can fill up the stats sheet against a high
school team. BYU had 6 players fill the sheets against PAC, Stanford, on the
road. Shall we do the math?
@Gone fishing"Now that is how to set up a program for failure
over the long haul"Do you seriously think Coach Krystkowiak
plans on having the same schedule every year? You're not very smart if you
think so. It wouldn't make a lot of sense for us to schedule Duke, North
Carolina, Kansas, etc. Yeah maybe we will win...maybe. but chances are we
wouldn't. He probably wants to get some confidence in his players and get
ready for conference play. The only reason he would schedule premier teams is
if he thought we had a chance of winning a National Championship. I'm
willing to bet that by next year or the year after our preseason will be a lot
Big Skies--I actually find your analysis fair and I think you're right that
a lot of the Ute fans would agree with that assessment. It is a very weak
non-conference schedule. Nothing to be ashamed of--but weak. But time will tell
if this is a good move or not. If it isn't sufficient to prep this team for
a bunch of tough teams down the road, we'll pay for it. But I think the
opposite could (not saying 'will') happen. In either case, I
don't think it's done for the purposes of making Coach K2's
record look better. He's too smart for that and if he thinks this is
what's necessary to help a very young and rebuilding team gel--I'll go
"If Wright is a "stat sheet stuffer", what the heck is Tyler
Haws?"He's a very good player in his own right. But what
the heck does he have to do with a team that he's not on? Seems a little
insecure to go onto a nice article about a player and start crying because a
player on a different team isn't mentioned in it.
