I am not understanding how a real Cougar could cheer for Wisconsin. I was
there the last time BYU played in Madison and the Cougars did very, hoping for
the same score.
@Wayne Rout:I think it's kind of dangerous to question whether Rocky
is a "real Cougar", since we know nothing of his situation--or,
possibly, how things went for him as a student and player. I admittedly was
quite surprised, however, that Rocky's sons chose not to follow in
Dad's footsteps; in my household, the recognition of what can be
accomplished for your religion by helping the church school do well far
outweighs helping to boost regional pride.
@Cougar PassionPlease...in your household? Regional Pride? Come on,
Rocky's son's, if active (and I have no idea), are most likely a
blessing to that program. The hastening of the work of salvation across the
country/globe needs great families like theirs in places like Lincoln. I'm
assuming a lot here, but I've got to think that they're having a
positive impact. Lighten up, friend. We're all in this together, and our
church school has a pleothora of fine LDS student athletes to help the program
Lighten up, boys. A father can't force his sons to go to BYU - I'm
not sure the younger one was even offered a scholarship from BYU. We all have
our free agency.I'll be at Camp Randall for the game Saturday -
@Cougar Passion:Are you saying that the best way to help "your
religion" is to play for the church school? While I'm a BYU fan, I can
see that one can do a lot of good by being a good example wherever they play.
In a lot of cases they can probably do a lot more good playing somewhere other
than BYU. Besides, it only mentioned that the older son was recruited by BYU
and it doesn't say how heavily recruited. This should be a
great game. Go Cougars!
I don't think you guys are taking into account all the positives a home
state school can offer, especially when it is a top program. The idea that
overall, Rocky's BYU experience may not have been spectacular is possible,
but certainly not the only possibility.I say, it is what it is, and
requires nothing more than surface reading.
Good grief, Beigle is obviously a fan of wisconsin because he has sons playing
there and lives there, he is obviously a fan of BYU because he and his brother
played there and have religious ties to it. BYU heavily recruited
the older son and lightly recruited, and did not offer, the younger son. Why do any of you have to read any more into it than that?
Not a surprise someone would pick a true prestigious national power Wisconsin
over a regional program whose national attention is limited to fellow church
members and that hasn't ever sniffed BCS glory.
It is obvious that no one knows why these boys chose WisconsinPerhaps they
wanted to stay close to family.BYU's recruiting class always contain
players who chose BYU over Power Conference schools.
Chris BSalt Lake City, UTNot a surprise someone would pick a

attention is limited...===I did not read that Utah recruited the
kids...Interesting point Chris, but aren't you supposed to be
bashing BYU, not the U?
I think that this Saturdays game will be fun and competitive, but I think
Wisconsin wins it.Hey Chris BStill waiting for the youtube fight
song.it was marked down.
Utah and Wisconsin are similar programs, both have enjoyed multiple top 10
seasons and BCS glory in the last decade. When its a matchup of a
program that has enjoyed BCS glory and top 10 seasons lately against a team that
has never enjoyed BCS glory and hasn't had a single top 10 season in many
years, pick the prestigious BCS program who has enjoyed BCS glory and top 10
seasons lately.Wisconsin 37byu 17Go Badgers!
"Utah and Wisconsin are similar programs,..."Not even
close.Wisconsin has been successfully competing in a big boy
conference for decades.Utah has proven that they don't belong in a
big boy conference - 8-15 in the PAC.
For ChrisB and his stats, be done already. Judge a program not the lame BCS.

Here is the title of an article in Wisconsin"The Voice: They're
not Big Ten, but BYU is big time"Have a great day.
"Utah and Wisconsin are similar programs,..."True they both
are red and white.... Umm... that is where the similarity ends.Wisconsin actually competes in and occasionally wins their BCS conference.Wisconsin and BYU both have a national championship and a Heisman Trophy
winner. Nice to see to nationally prominent football programs
facing off on Saturday. No wonder it is the main game on ESPN on
Christy,And what is byu's record against the team that
doesn't belong in the Pac12, per you?LOL!
Good for the Biegel boys! I'm sure they have a positive impact on that
team & it will be a fun game for their dad too. If BYU stands a
chance in this game, they need to spread the defense by getting as many
people/positions involved in the offense, especially TE's and short to
mid-range passes. That will keep their stout D honest for the run. We'll
really miss JD on punts and in the slot. I'm think Ridley will be covering
punts-- and hopefully they have to punt often. On defense, we should all be
hoping their star receiver isn't quite ready to return so it turns them
almost exclusively to the run. While they have a big O line, we can give them
more than they're used to on run D. Can't wait for this game. Go
Man, I can't wait for Saturday! Should be a great game, and I'm really
hoping BYU pulls off the upset. Coach Anderson is a class act and I will root
for Wisconsin (after Saturday) to do well the rest of the season. Same goes for
the Biegel boys. :)
Chris BUnlike U, BYU has been so successful in so many other
achievements, that BYU doesn't have to gauge the success of its entire
program on the results of a yearly head-to-head matchup with our little brothers
on the hill.Of course, when you're satisfied with simply
beating BYU, having a pathetic record of only FIVE lifetime AP Top 25 finishes
really doesn't matter.
@ Chris BWin a National Title then you can be on our level!
Bring your A+ game Cougars, you're undermanned this year compared to
Wisconsin.Wisconsin by 3 scores.
" ...... whose national attention is limited to fellow church members and

"national attention"????? Get a grip.Chrissy - BYU has a
National Championship. Nuff said.
BYU will win this game.Chris B, I love how U guys nag on BYU fans
about looking back in history to boast of compliments. U can do it but BYU fans
are not allowed. Kind of a double standard ain't it?You seem
fixated on the term "BCS glory" That was five and nine years ago. What
have U accomplished before, between, and since?......That's
what I thought.
The Last time BYU played Wisconsin in Wisconsin, BYU beat them on their
homefield BYU-28 Wisconsin 3. Holmoe played in that game. It will be a
Listening to Chris B makes me want even more for BYU to win this game.
I've said it once and I'll keep saying it over and over again, that
the best way to counter the haters is to win. Winning is the best antidote to
their venom. @UCLA Bruin,...4 Davey O'Brien award

Edge BYU1 Maxwell Award Winner - Edge BYUYou didn't say
how many Utah won on each of the last categories so that's not fair! By
the way,it seems to me the Ute fans are right after all about being the
big brother. How can they not be if they are 30 years older than BYU in
football, age wise? But how on earth did BYU win all those honors anyway?
Didn't the Utes compete in the same conferences all those years too? Hmmm,
something's not right!
To those who took exception with my comments, I should probably have elaborated.
For greater detail, I am on at least one social media site that Greg Wrubell
also uses, and from that you can find my old blog. But, to be reasonably brief,
I have noted time and time again that the LDS Church receives a very high amount
of positive publicity when BYU teams (especially in the most popular sports) do
very well. It even happens when a top player runs afoul of the Honor Code and
the suspension seriously damages the team's chances at success, as happened
with the basketball team a couple of years ago. Conversely, little publicity
came the Church's way when a high-profile football player was dismissed a
few year's ago, because the team itself was not making national news. We
all know that, all things equal, the teams do better with better players and
depth. So, yes, there can be a very tangible effect on how others view our
religion based on BYU getting all the top players it recruits. I don't
know if that's important to everyone; it is important to my family.
Cougar Passion, I agree. Bronco Mendenhall has been very vocal about wanting to
get all of the top LDS talent. For many reasons some of those kids go elsewhere,
often to storied programs outside of the state. I'm with Bronco though, and
would love to get all the top LDS kids. Because of how success does bring
publicity, I'm always hoping we are stacked with the best LDS kids. I know
they can do a lot of good at BYU and also at other schools. I believe that many
of these kids make a prayerful decision about where to go and certainly many of
them reflect positively wherever they may be. Having said that if Rocky's
kids are anything like him, we missed out. I loved watching him at BYU. He was
so fundamentally sound. Should be a tough fought game. Go Cougars!!!
The winner of this game will be the one that plays the best defense and has the
fewest turnovers which will lead them to score the most points!GO COUGARS
Chris B. I'm surprised guys like you are interested in the program from
the comment ;). Looks like you are limited out." regional
program whose national attention is limited to fellow church members and that
hasn't ever sniffed BCS glory".
Chris B. I think BYU has a national championship in its trophy case. Utah has
0. Utah has 2 bcs wins and BYU 0. Both won games during their undefeated
seasons that they shouldn't have won. Both had weak weak schedules. Since
moving to the PAC12 Utah is an horrible team. BYU has stayed about the same.
Utah has no bowl wins while in the PAC. Ove all athletic programs. While
in the Mountain west BYU had 139 overall championships and Utah had 39. There
really is no comparison when it comes to athletic programs. That's why
guys like Chris B hang on to the football time like they do. Besides Womens
gymnastics there is just nothing on the hill to excite the fans. SCOREBORD BYU
Rockarolla, get a clue. Utah won a bowl game its first season as a Pac-12
