If these people are receiving food stamps, why do they need the food pantry?
Could it be they refuse to learn how to cook? Or are they cashing in part of
the food stamps, then using the food pantry to make up the difference? Or using
their cash for other things, then receiving food to cover the cost of those
things? I don't have a problem helping my neighbors, yet I wonder why they
need the food pantry.
Barack considers it a success that those on welfare are at an all time high.
This is wonderful. The food stamp program is a supplimental program.
Imagine you grossed $1,300 a month which is minimum wage for person working 40
hours. What does that check look like after FICA tax is removed? Subtract
transportation costs to that job. Subtract rent. Subtract utilities. Subtract
tithe. Subtract medications. Not much left for food. The WIC program only
let's you buy the small juice. Not the large bottle. The SNAP program
doesn't allow for the purchase of cooked food items to be purchased.
Everyone is cooking. Now imagine you are $30 less what you were able to spend on
food from last month. A food pantry is the people supplying another
needs and not the government. Isn't that good that it isn't all on the
government. Here is the thing. A person not close the edge
can't make a money mistake. The rest of is can make money mistakes and it
not effect the food budget. That doesn't make us better.
I've been there. It's really tough, and demoralizing, especially if
it lasts for a longer period of time.We shouldn't criticise without
knowing the individual's story. We need to take care of each other.
There but for the Grace of God, (and a good job) go I.
