Mike Lee does not have low approval numbers. Remember the pollster used has a
spouse who is a Democrat member of the legislature. I counted thousands on hand
and there were over 660 T-shirts given out! Why does the Des News dislike Mike
Lee told the crowd that he's up to the task of "taking on the
establishment."Folks, being against something, not for
something, is pretty easy.If that is all you want, elect more Mike Lees,
and watch them do their job as puppets of rich republican interests.No matter what flaws President Obama may have, I don't see how it is
American or Christian to continually pull down the Country and refuse to pass

YES, we attended this rally with a few thousand other patriots! It was exciting
to see such a huge turnout for an event that was planned by a couple of moms
last Monday. Too bad detractors got any press. They were all but nonexistent at
this rally. It was 99.9% Mike Lee all the way! We out-cheered the 8 minute
standing ovation that Texans gave Ted Cruz by about 3-4 minutes. Proud moment to
be in that wonderful crowd of freedom-loving Americans! Mike came into the crowd
shaking hands, giving hugs, and thanking everyone for their support right before
he spoke. I got one of those hugs! Mike was brilliant in his remarks. He's
very smart and well spoken! With all the corruption going on in this
country right now, here is a man who is doing what he promised he would do when
he got to Washington, D.C.....fight for our freedom and liberty, lead the charge
for limited government, and defend the Constitution! He is one of the few
statesmen in Washington who is honorable and fearless. Yes, we
support Mike Lee! We need more just like him. We need to take this country back!

I was not at the rally and I don't necessarily consider myself a Mike Lee
supporter - but I am getting close. I admire his sense of integrity. He is
doing what he campaigned on (no surprises here). He didn't make promises
to win election and then do something entirely different once elected.
OK, Sen. Lee has less than 50% approval rating. The last time I checked,
Congress in general had a much lower approval rating. I believe you also
reported that Sen. Hatch was even lower than Sen. Lee. If so, you might include
those numbers in your story. The Salt Lake Tribune had reported Sen. Hatch at
Mike Lee should come on up to Liberty park and do a rally. Bet the crowd would
be a little lest receptive.

I was at the rally as well. It was AMAZING!!! Every thing that people say evil
about Mike Lee only makes me believe in him more. It shows that he is doing
something to provoke the dormant leadership in Washington. Even those in the
Republican Party who are part of "The Good Ole Boys Club, such as Orrin
Hatch, are harassing him! Why? Because he is actually trying to do something
that he said he would do if elected. I know that is an outdated concept in

It's very easy to over-estimate the size of a crowd. But even if there were

Shame on the DN for inaccurate reporting of the number of attendees! I was
there and there were, at the very least, 1500 people in attendance. I expect
such dishonesty from the trib, but not from the Deseret. Shame on you!
I wasn't able to make the rally on Saturday, but I want to say that I fully
support Senator Lee and the Tea Party. Senator Lee is one of the few leaders in
Washington that is fulfilling his campaign promises and standing up for the

I went mainly to see what the turnout would be like. It was indeed well over a
thousand and maybe doubling that. I walked around trying to find anti-Lee
posters. I did not see any but the news said there were about a dozen so I must
of missed them somehow. The enthusiasm for Lee was very apparent. The rally
itself was amazing considering it was organized only a few days before by two
housewives on facebook with no apparent organized political affiliation. The
support I saw for Lee was very similar to what I see in my neighborhood and at
work in spite of what the polls say. I suspect that Lee will do better than
what the media says.

Thank you Ultra Bob for Quoting the document, our Constitution, that you
obviously have a different interpretation. I believe in God-given rights and
the protections afforded me in the constitution of those rights. You only
believe in 'collective' rights as defined by government, which is the
very thing our founding fathers came here and started a revolution to get away
from. Our founding fathers did not believe in Socialism. They did not believe
in Fascism or communism. They believed in the freedoms as defined by our
founding documents, none of which espouse socialism or the collective rights
that you want at the expense of individual and god-given rights. In my
extremism, I fear for the likes of those who want power to enforce their
'collective' rights. Cambodia comes to mind for those who want to
'cleanse' nations of the right to express an opinion different than
the collectivists. I feel sorry for you! Mike Lee is standing up against
socialism and collectivist thinking and the power brokers can't take it.
He is the Jefferson Smith of our day. God bless him!

have given the same rights to all. In the attributes of God, fairness would be
one of the top. Yet to all appearances, the only thing God gives is life. It
comes without any guarantees and no specials. The collective rights
that you despise are the only rights you have. Everything you do is done with
the permission of the collective of people that you are part of. However you
only have those rights so long as you allow similar rights to others. I don’t have any idea of what you mean when you criticize socialism. As
an individual you would have total freedom to do very little. As an American
citizen, as part of collective of like minded people, you have access to the

something is technically legal doesn't make it right. There was a time when
slavery and women not being allowed to vote were both legal and technically
constitutional... just like ObamaCare currently is That didn't make any of
those laws right. It was people just like Mike Lee who had the fortitude to
stand against the prevailing attitudes and got those unjust, but technically
legal laws changed. Thank goodness there are now politicians like
Mike Lee who don't follow the seductive and wispy winds of socialism which
has lately become more popular because of all the freebies the government is
giving out... at taxpayer expense and with money that isn't properly
accounted for. Obama and his minions are adding record amounts to our almost
unfathomable record-setting federal deficit that will be a scourge to our
children and grandchildren to have to deal with. Keep up the great
work you are doing Mr. Lee. Doing the right thing often isn't the most
popular. That's why doing so deserves an even greater amount of respect.
And there are still plenty of right-minded people who support you.
Liberals conveniently forget that Obama and his senate followers are every bit
as much to blame for the government shutdown as any Republican was... if not
more so. All they had to do was agree to the latest Republican compromise
(something not in Obama's and Harry Reid's vocabulary ) and agree to
live by the same mandates ObamaCare is forcing upon the rest of us, rather than
exempt themselves from it. That seems plenty reasonable to most reasonable
people. That's all the Republicans were asking Obama and democrats to do
before the shutdown happened. Even before then, they simply asked the democrats
to delay the ObamaCare mandate for 1 year while obvious problems with it were
given time to be worked out and corrected. Again, something completely
reasonable, but flat-out rejected by the democrats. As such,
Democrats could've easily avoided the government shutdown, but
wouldn't do so... knowing that the media would blame the Republicans no
matter what, and also that there are plenty of low-information voters (just read
the liberal comments about this article) who would buy-in... just like they
usually do and so did again. Sad.
Hundreds rally, and millions think he's no good for this country.
