Study: Utah would miss out on economic benefits of timber salvage

    New Mexico,--funds are spent to cut, and thin out the forest. This prevents fires, and disease.

    And to think,--goverment shut down companies that did this for free.

    Thousands lost their jobs.

    Like most gov't run resources they are usually about 10 years behind the problem and then they throw money away to study a problem that any common sense person would know what to do but are prevented from doing because of regulations not in harmony with reality.

    I don't think we can blame the Govt. for this. The forest service tried to control the infestations through logging but were thwarted by enviromental groups and Judges. By the time a case went through the courts, the forest was dead.
