Great example of what sports is really all about. We give too much attention and honor only to those who make it to the grandest stages of sport while we forget the true purpose and potential that sports can have in young people's lives.

One of the best articles I have ever read. This is what athletics/drama/extra curricular activities are all about. Molding young people into something that they couldn't become otherwise. There are some lessons that just cannot be taught in a classroom. There are experiences with adversity that couldn't be taught otherwise. Kudos to this young man and his mother, and even bigger kudos to that team for taking him and making him one of their family.

One of the most inspiring things I have read in a long time.

God bless you and your family Saben.

Here's hoping the Sky Hawks live their destiny and physically take it all the way to the State Championship this year. Mentally and spiritually they already have.

After all the garbage you read about many athletes nationally, it is nice to read about local kids who are great athletes and even better people.
