The Aggies did not quit. It's tough when you have to play a team coached
by the 'Lavell Edwards of Idaho.'
4-0 with my predictions and the aggies show no sign of proving me wrong. Man
it's good being at the top. I will say that it is kinda lonely though when
you are the only one who knows what's gonna happen. And then they prove
We feel your pain. Finding a new starter at QB is more than a 1 week project.
It may even take years. I think we may have found our next solution. Hoping
usu does the same soon. Either way, looking forward to Chuckie's farewell
tour stop at our place next year.
They still have a chance at being 8 and 4 if one of the backup quaterbacks
starts to play decent and need the cornerbacks and kicker to step up their game.
If they get 8-4 record I would say that is still a pretty sucessful season.
Conference will be tough to win.
I'd LOVE to hear Joey DeMartino's explanation for WHY he felt the need
to run all the way over to the other side of the field to commit a personal foul
on a play in which he was not involved in any way. That was one of the most
bone-headed and idiotic moves by a football player that I've seen in a VERY
long time. Brilliant move there DeMartino. Way to cost your team a
15 yard personal foul penalty as a result of your stupidity.
Yes there have been injuries, but I think the coaching staff needs to get this
together. I have been frustrated with some of the decisions and play calling.
Get your staff and your team together Wells.
I actually thought Garretson moved the ball much better than Harrison. Yeah, he
threw a couple of picks, but when you think about a (previously) third string QB
coming in and probably getting his first-ever game reps, and really probably
some of his first real reps period, it's easy to cut him a touch of slack.
Garretson seemed to be quicker at making decisions, and I think his arm is
better and quite a bit more accurate (9 for 14 is loads better than 7 for 17,
despite how the Deseret News wants to spin it). Most importantly, he did two
things Harrison couldn't: Move the ball consistently and score. That said, the secondary (minus Nevin Lawson who played lights out all night)
needs some serious work. Boise State obviously has some good receivers and a
good QB, but my goodness, when everyone in the stadium knows they're going
to pass, you ought to be able to at least sorta defend it. We had the run
pretty well shut down, which should have allowed for some more personnel to drop
back into pass coverage.
Step back from the ledge Aggie fans. Defense played good- not great. Our
secondary did make Southwick look all world, but we weren't getting
pressure on him either. Any QB will find holes when he has all day to throw. The
coaching staff is doing the best they can and the players are putting forth
effort. This next week will be a better barometer as we have named a starting QB
and he'll have a full week of practice with the first team O.
