    Please, please, do NOT refer to autism or Asperber's as a "mental illness." There's absolutely nothing wrong with these people's brains; they merely see the world in different ways, and they are not a danger or potential threat to themselves or anyone else.

    Read about Temple Grandin, or ask any mom like me who has a high-functioning autistic son. I'm not looking for ways to cure him; he doesn't need curing. Only understanding. Just like Sheldon.
