    This is an outrage!

Not the very fine work that the local folks are doing, but the fact that this federal government agency has personnel working, and a quarter million dollars laying around to pass out.

We are 8 days into a "shutdown" where all sorts of services are being slammed shut in the most punitive manner, and families of troops killed in combat are denied a "death gratuity." But somehow we find employees and money to pass out for "English skills learning?"

I agree immigrants (both legal and illegal) need to learn English, but that does not mean that a bankrupt federal government has to dump millions of dollars to take care of that.

Shut this program down, we cannot afford it, and darn sure should not be having anyone working there when non-essential federal services are supposed to be shut down!
