1 of 47 children in Utah have autism? The rates are rising? So you put
up a clinic for what? Meeting social needs?God forbid anyone look for a
cause! If you had 1 of 47 children with measles, would you be putting up a
clinic? And children recover from measles, contrary to what you have been led to
believe.Hate to point out the obvious, but as autism affects boys more
adversely than girls we should be concerned. After the wars, the choice of
different lifestyle, and the autism, the marriage pool for our daughters is
shrinking. Hope the clinic is all you want it to be and it helps.
I am a father of two young men with autism. Autism is a very complex disorder.
There is currently a lot of legitimate research to identify genetic and physical
links to individuals with autism. Sadly, there is a large amount of
misinformation. Our country has come a long way. In the early
1990s, our boys' doctors did everything possible to not diagnose them with
autism. This was a disservice to all. With proper diagnosis of more
people (this has been around for a LONG time) we can identify and provide the
necessary medical, social, financial, and living assistance to individuals and
families affected with this complex disorder. If you know
individuals with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities, please reach
out in love to them. The stress that their families face can be overwhelming.
Please don't judge them at the grocery store. There are some very kind
people in our community, but there are also some real jerks.
