I know there was a lot of disgruntlement about the theme words on the jerseys,
but I like it for this game. It is a good move in my opinion.
I'd never know Daniel or PoVey were projected to be back-ups. Both have
performed admirably at the corners. No need to worry about the corners next
year with Johnson and Tramell back.
@CougFaninTXDaniel, yes. PoVey, not so much. The key to defending
the option well is to be assignment sound to make tackles in space. Daniel has
shown to be very good at that. I worry about PoVey in this game, but for the
most part feel very comfortable that the defense should be able to keep the
Jackets out of the endzone generally.
CougfaninTX:I agree, next year the secondary should be very good with
Johnson & Trammell back, but then you have Daniel, Lee, & Leavitt all
with experience to back them up. Then Badger & Bills at the safety spots
will be good also. They could be the best secondary ever at BYU next year if
they stay healthy and play to their capabilities. I'm looking
for the offense to continue their growth in this GT game. GT has a good defense
so it should be a good test. If BYUs offense can continue to improve, next year
with a less difficult schedule could be special for the Cougs.
Just had to comment on how nice it is to read five relevant, thoughtful comments
without the juvenile ankle biters that typically can't wait to embarrass
themselves by being first with the same tired nonsense they've posted on a
dozen prior stories. Maybe it's actually dawned on them that
they have enough to worry about with their own games this week. Whatever the
case, it happens so rarely, it deserves notice.Goooooo Cougars!
