Great special effects, good acting, but the ending left me feeling a little
cheated. I wanted to see exactly what happened to Ryan Stone beyond what they
showed. Also, they left out details on what happened to Kowalski; that is left
entirely to your imagination.
So what is with this desperate need to see religion in a popular culture that so
many religious people claim to deplore as pure evil anyway?
Saw it on Saturday and I thought it was great. I didn't have a a religious
experience, but it was certainly suspenseful and entertaining. I'll echo
Melanna's comment above. Was I supposed to be looking for religion in it?
That some found faith and others did not is nothing to get annoyed with. Great
art speaks differently to each viewer - and in a civil world different
perspectives are ok. The movie is stunning. My husband invited me to
see it with him. I was really wanting something more lighthearted but went
anyway and am glad I did.
The story line was rather bland... but the cinematography was phenomenal. How
did they do that? Certainly not in outer space. And why did George
have to go sailing off? The guy was tethered.
