This game was not as close as the score would suggest, Bingham would have scored
50 if the refs hadn't called back two touchdowns and helped Brighton march
down the field in the 3rd quarter what a joke! But aside from that Bingham is
the #1 team in the state, the #1 defense in the state and will take state! Go
Miners!!! Never out hustled, Never outhit!
Go Miners, take state.Class of 82
Bingham pulled some starters in the 3rd quarter when they were up 31-14 to stay
healthy as well. The score doesn't do the beat down justice that the miners
put on the Bangals.
markymark Pulled starter in the 3rd quater? I'm not sure what game you
watched but they all played to the end!! Ps its spelled Bengals!!!
After watching Brighton take all those brutal hits (all of which we're
clean and legal) I really doubt Brighton leaps for joy at the idea of meeting
Bingham again in the playoffs or ever again in life lol.
utahfanBrighton wont win state. They were exposed tonight, sorry but
Bingham will be state champions! Better luck nest time.

To all! Not a Jordan fan! But I still think they will throttle Bingham Friday
night!! Jordan should have been on my list as well! Bingham will choke like it
has the last 2 years in the playoffs!! As for Brighton winning State Just sit
back and watch. Brighton Quarterback has been out the last two games as well,
Osa hardly played due to an injury, Just wait!!! Smack talk to cont!!!!
If you want to talk about the past seasons Brighton might want to make the
playoffs first. When was the last time they made the playoffs when they
didn't have to play a play in game. I don't think they have won a
playoff game since 05 have they?
Utahfan1: I don't care if you're a fan of Jordan or not. You stated
all of Bingham's starters were in until the end. The entire backfield was
2nd string the entire 4th qtr. Osa didn't play because the Miners have an
actual defense. He's been playing against little league defenses. He
found out what a real defense looks like. It looks like 69 yards!
utahfan1What makes you think Jordan's defense is any better than
Brightons'? haha Bingham will destroy Jordan, it all hangs on their QB,
Moss won't get his yards just like Osa, watch and learn this friday buddy
Clay moss is not playing on friday!! Bingham can focus on Austin all
game long! bingham wins 48-28
Why isn't Moss playing?
EAST would beat Bingham
BINGHAM would beat East
Glad Bingham didn't win by much... keeps 'em hungry for the next one.
As good as that Brighton win was, this team still is looking for the same thrill
they got with Valor Christian. If Jordan will bring their best game this Friday,
the Miners will be ready for them. Hope the refs call a fair game and may the
team who wants it the most come out victorious. Respect all, fear none. PS. We'll never know who will win between Bingham and East this
It was 25 years ago next week (Oct 14, 1988) that Bingham last played a team
from a lower classification. The Miners lost to Provo that day 42-17. Bingham
was 4A and Provo was 3A (there was no 5A at the time).Bingham-East
would be great to see as would have Bingham-Timpview in 2006-2010. But as
Bingham does not play down, we'll likely not see it unless UHSAA sanctions
a super championship game.
Bingham tried to play timpview every year from 06-11 but Wong wouldn't play
Parry, I remember that game very well vs Provo. I played in that game and we
were thumped! I'd love to see a 5A vs 4A game after the championships for
each division have been played. Markymark: Every time Peck tried to get the
game scheduled, Wong wanted him to replace that game with the Bingham vs Alta
game. No way Peck was going to give that game up. Nor should have he.
I don't doubt that Bingham tried to schedule Timpview. That would have
been a great game in any of those years. Doesn't change the fact that
Bingham has not "played down" in a quarter century.
Not in state they haven't. They have played 4A schools out of state. I.E.
Bonneville this year. I've stated it before. It's really a no win
situation to play down. Sure it would be fun to see. But if they win, people
just say that they should win. If they lose, what kind of blow to your teams
confidence does it give losing to a lower classed team? Don't see the
purpose when there are plenty of good 5A teams they can schedule.
Gunner,Agree, there is nothing to be gained by playing down, but
virtually everyone does it, except Bingham, Brighton, Davis, and Hunter this
year (and no one has been nearly as consistent as Bingham about this). Syracuse
played down for their entire non-region schedule. The Utah County schools that
are 5A seem to play down a lot but they have local rivals that they like to
schedule. Some schools played down for interesting games (i.e., Jordan/East,
Alta/East, Alta/Timpview) but overall, I agree, that there is nothing to be
gained. Also, I do not consider out-of-state games as part of the
statement. Seems that there is enough difference with teams from other states
that it is kind of an apples to oranges comparison. SO . . . Bingham has not
played an in-state game against a team from a lower classification since 1988.
I really wish people would stop trying to make the classification system into a
"skill meter". Teams are not 5A because they are superior to other
schools. Teams are not 4A because they can't compete in 5A. Teams are not
1A because they are awful and can't play against anyone else. This has to get pointed out every single year because someone always tries to
act like "playing down" is a charity game, or beneath certain schools.
Schools like Timpview, Logan and East would thrash most 5A schools, most years.
Timpview just beat Lone Peak last night. Should we move Timpview to 5A, and
Lone Peak to 4A until they redeem themselves? It is based on
location, and population folks. Nothing more. Don't read into it just
because 5 is a bigger number than 4. Bingham is a larger school, not a better
school. That is why they are 5A. There is no reason to feel ashamed for losing
to a team in a smaller division. Talent is talent and smaller school size
doesn't mean smaller talent. I'd wager that East/Logan could easily
wipe out 99% of 5A this year. Probably even Bingham.
ExTBird: What you don't understand is, if I have a school with 1000 kids
in it, and a school with 300 in it, the talent pool is much larger to pull from
in the 1000 kid school. If you have a great athlete for every 20 kids, I have
more athletes to select from. So yes, they usually are more superior. You put
a 3A team in 5A, they may win 1 game a year. It's not that difficult to
