Yikes, a "dream home" that you can't even be off work for 2 days
and afford? I know he has worked hard all his life but this house looks very
Orrin Hatch needs to remember her name? What about Mike Lee (I have to have my
paycheck oops wait people are mad I better donate it to charity) or Harry Reid
(UUhhhhh wait the republicans want something I better say no) or Obama (how do
you spell compromise/ I spell it my way or the highway).
The Skogs may not realize it but their story has been repeated over and over
again since 2007.Good people losing their jobs isn't new.I was
out of work for three years, finally getting a job that pays me 1/3 of what I
was making ten years ago.Basically, I work for health insurance benefits
now. It's a lousy plan at that.I thought I had done all the right
things, too. I got a degree, paid off my home, bought used cars, never took
expensive vacations...It's funny; no one came around from the
newspaper to take my picture when I lost my job.Welcome to the NFL, folks.
I wonder just who it is in the Government that makes the decision as to just
what jobs are considered "non essential". If I had my way, I'd
furlough 95% of the White House staff, including the chef. Let Obama order out.
I think whoever makes these decisions is purposely trying to upset the most
people for political reasons only. I say the Guard is more important to the
country than a lot of people still working in D.C.
Don't blame Sen Hatch, he was actually trying to stop the government
shutdown. If we look around, look at Sen Lee for some of the blame. Lee is the
one that doesn't see how his actions hurt people. Sen Hatch is a
conservative member of the Senate that will try to compromise where appropriate,
but he is not an ultra-conservative ideologue like Sen Lee that won't work
with others. Lee needs to go on the next election.
I feel bad but I find it hard to believe that a lender would foreclose on a home
even with one month's missing payment? That's not going to happen.
It costs lenders too much in court costs, delays. And also knowing that so many
people are in the same boat with furloughs.... Makes for sympathetic story, but
perhaps a little bit hyped?
One thing is easy to see--either Republicans have no empathy or people in Utah
have no empathy. My first thought was to look for a link to help these people.
What is wrong with all of you? And BTW, the idea of government is to get things
done that work for the American people. Congress was charged with passing the
budget--somehow Republicans took this to a whole other dimension and got so off
track it's no longer even halfway amusing. (I thought Republicans had
respect for servicemen and women?)
