Stop playing games Bronco, all Aggie fans know Hoffman will be back for the USU vs BYU game. You can't fool us or our coaches.

You can bet we will see another miraculous redemption story like we saw with Hadley. Hoffman will come limping down the tunnel to the field with a halo gleaming forth from around his head.

From Taysom Hill, "It’s fun to see them perform and put points on the board. I love those guys. I love the way they play. They play hard."

Well, I am sure KVN, D's Company and Fans would like to see your offense do the same in return!

It won't matter if Cody is back or not as far as the outcome of the games goes... BYU can't throw the ball anyway with Hill and Utah State will pound BYU anyway. The Y is the third best team in Utah...

    @ patriot

After BYU buries Utah State, and after they do the same to Utah in the replay of the Holy War, when Utah is the last qualifier from the Pac 12 and is pitted against BYU in the Fight Hunger Bowl game, BYU will get redemption and will be the top team in the state. Following BYU will be USU, Utah, and Weber State, in that order.

Mark it down, Chris B and patriot.

The red headed step children are at it again.

Hope to see Hoffman on Friday -

Van Noy continues to be a class act.

Didn't this happen towards the end of Crowton's coaching career at the Y ?

With or without Hoffman, BYU will lose to Utah State. The difference is losing by 3 touchdowns or 4 touchdowns.

BYU will be prepared for a tough battle at USU. It won't be easy. Their QB seems to be a much better passer and they have running backs. It will be interesting.

@ Utah State Fan. You are confused. The "game" is on Friday. Football is only a game but character and keeping commitments are not games! The game of football is very temporary and unimportant but living values and correct principles are forever. Bronco knows that but some don't understand the differences between games and real life. The major purpose of sports is to teach values and correct principles of personal behavior. Correct behavior> football.

I thought the two teams weren't meeting until 2016. This is great news.

    5 in a row!

Hope the new moniker is still available.

Specially when you can't win the "games". lol. The wheels are starting to wobble.

ekute. Its possible and preferable to do both! BYU (and plenty of other teams and individuals) wins frequently enough.

USU showed they are vulnerable against a decent D (USU vs USC). I like BYU's chances in this one.

BYU's D is nowhere near as good as USC's. I'll take the home team in a close one.

  • JayDee West Jordan, UT

Would that be the USC defense that gave up 62 to ASU and also got their coach fired?

Give it up to USU though; I'm sure the fact they hung with the Trojans and played much better than expected...putting up two touchdowns in LA was also a contributing factor in getting the coach fired.

    Go Cougars!

USU should win this game going away. They are a complete team. I also expected USU to win the game last year but BYU won. That is why we play them. I predict a two TD win for USU.

    Go Aggies!

Patriot said, “ The Y is the third best team in Utah...”

Is this the new perception of the four football teams of Utah?
Is it the new perception or is it indeed a fact?

What has happened to BYU football these past 9 years?

During this period of time, Utah has improved enough to go to two BCS Bowls and get accepted into a highly desirable BCS Conference.

Utah State has improved enough to be a ranked team a couple of seasons.

Weber State is, well it is Weber State.

    But BYU----What has happened????

No quality BCS Conference wants us.
BYU looks great the first big game of each season and than fizzles out.
BYU looks fantastic playing the mid majors that are ranked around 100, give or take 15-20 points.

BYU looks terrible with most other teams that are BCS caliber teams.

Will we ever reach the next level the way we are going?
In order to reach the next level, what has to change?

In regards to Cody Hoffman, and others,
the next time we shoot ourselves in the foot,
    can’t we please use blanks?

I don’t think we can continue to use live ammunition
and at the same time, stop the bleeding of the team.

How can the Hoffman case present 'another miraculous redemption story like Hadley' and have Hoffman show up for the next game when you have Hadley out for at least five games, and precedents like Harvey Unga missing his entire senior year! And Brandon Davies missing the entire rest of a best-ever year! And Kyle Van Noy having to sit out his entire Freshman year! Whats the purpose of your post? BYU doesn't gloss over violations of the school honor code and team rules, let alone any possible NCAA violations (there are none here) or outright brushes with the law. Unlike most schools, including the one you support.

I think Utah State will probably win but it will depend on whether or not Hill can move the team via the pass, if he can & then you combine what he can do with his feet, then BYU should win . So many poster want to say my team or this team is better than that team based on one game and how good a team is can't be determined on one game. Utah beat BYU fair and square but which team is really the best can't be known yet. Let's see how they are playing and how some of their key players are performing in 4 to 6 weeks, How good the utes can be depends a lot on how Wilson develops and continues to improve, they could beat UCLA if Wilson has a great game, the same is true about BYU, how well Hill can pass, will determine how good BYU can be, BYU can beat any team on their schedule if Hill can move the team via the pass, if not BYU will lose 3 or 4 more. Utah State is solid , experienced and probably underrated.

I think USU is a good game but all you Y haters are making USU look like Oregon. Who have they beat that's has a winning record? AFA (1-4, got killed by Wyo), Weber State (everyone beats), (SJSU -1-3). So, USU hasn't beat anyone with a defense as good as BYU and KVN3.
USU is on par with the Ewets, and should have wont that game. The Y should have beat the Ewets too. So what if they beat 3 crappy teams and lost to 2 mediocre teams. Bottom line, it will be a good game and I expect BYU's defense will keep the Y close. If the offense shows up, the Y wins.

    @ 2BCSWINS

I thought someone would get a laugh out of my post. Of course, it won't happen. Once teams have played a game, I do not think there is one case where the same two teams were matched up again in a bowl game. I guess there is always a first, but I don't see it happening in this case. The PAC 12 would not want a possibility of one of their teams losing in the same year to a team they had already beat.

About 6 years ago, BYU played UCLA three times in 13 months, including a bowl game. It can happen, although it is not a regular occurence.

  • panamadesnews Lindon, UT
    Sept. 30, 2013 4:07 p.m.

You are correct - I forgot about that. I believe one of those games was BYU 48 UCLA 0. And didn't BYU win 2 out of the 3 games?

  • dustman Gallup, NM

BYU fan here. But USU is gonna win. Better QB, more targets. Unless the Y's defense takes over, but USU is pretty good.
