Please, Governor Herbert! Support the Medicaid Expansion!
If the Governor was of average or low income it would be a no brainer but since
he has money and medical insurance for him and his family he does not really
take it serious. Hope you never have a need Gov.
The Utah solution has always been to underfund medicaid. You don't need to
move to another country to get help, just find a state with more compassion
towards the poor and disabled.
Gee, the governor's in a tough position here. If he actually enacts the
expansion of Medicaid made possible by Obamacare, it might actually help people,
and might actually make people hate Obamacare less. And we just
can't have that, can we?C'mon sick people, take one for
the team! Help us feed our insatiable hatred of Obama! And when you're
dwindling in your hospital bed, know that you're doing your patriotic duty
as an American by helping Gov. Herbert be a good Republican soldier.
Under 65 male or female there are no Medicaid entiltments or services available
to anyone. Its the law, a federal law that the governor does not have the right
to alter or change. Only the federal legislators in Washington DC of the House
and Senate have the authority to change the distribution of federal trust funds
that are the property of 300 million working amreicans.I do not
condone the arrogance of the governor to presumptive and think he has the
authority or right to declare Medicaid or Medicare as a public health care
distributor to non entitled claims. Nor is the Medicaid a dental care plan, that
too is the jurisdiction of the federal laws that deny all dental care as a
medicaid benefit.Everyone is accountable for their own doctor and
health care cost, it is "not" a right nor obligation of government to
offer socialist care services as declared in our state and national
Constitution. Self is accountable, not your neighbors or workers of america
paying Medicaid and Medicare trust accounts in each persons registered name with
the SSA. Welfare must end. No one has a right to expect selfish
greedy anticapation of others trust funds montey.
Could it be that our Governor is frightened to make a decision because either
way he is going to alienate a potential block of voters? He does not
want to take credit for it either way he goes.It is his job and he
does not wish to decide.
This governor gave a company $13M when they didn't even get the contract
for his Utah county road system. The other company that got the contract for
the $1.1B only gave him $85,000 for his campaign for governor when he needed to
be elected. Then he has as his running mate the voucher king and interfered
with public school for his friends. Health care is only for those
people that want to live just another day more. This governor has his
priorities and when the Tea-Party Republicans in the Senate, a very small
minority which we are bless to have one of them that sits on the sidelines most
of the time. The Governor and that Senator have money but some people
don't have enough even for life needs, not wants. When you have the need
to breathe and cannot, then that is a problem if you don't have some means
of getting help.Unions were the big pushers for health care benefits
in their ever growing contracts and salaries for their 3 year term. I remember
workers in a large company in Utah wanting to get the money instead of the
benefits of safety and health.
One thing that Obama said he didn't do was raise taxes but he now confesses
after the election under pressure that he did raise taxes to make it appear that
this ACA would survive. If you have to use tactics without
integrity, then whatever the goal is is wrong. To take from the rich and give to
the poor is not necessarily but the but the rich have definitely a lot to give
to live in this country. Rich can be good but it can also be a separation valve
to keep those people from knowing what is going on in the world around them. This life is too short to have to not appreciate life. Some people need
help but most in this country can do more to help the cause instead of fighting
The Florida Govenor also refused the Madicade help. He refused to provide ANY
help to citizens signing up for ACA and has gone out of his way to destroy it.
His Cabinet and the State Congress are also of like mind. The only
real, legal available recourse is to get rid of them next year.
@My2Cents: The whole point of this article is that if Governor Herbert
accepted the Medicaid EXPANSION, people like Bart, Sherilyn and Emily would be
covered by Medicaid. Under the current Medicaid system, in order to
receive Medicaid benefits you have to be poor AND in another category: Poor and
under 18, or poor and pregnant, or poor and 100% disabled, or poor and some very
restrictive categories. There are currently no benefits for poor, hard-working
adults who don't have coverage -- which many low-wage jobs do not offer.
The Medicaid Expansion would allow people below a certain income level to have
health care benefits, allowing them to get care early and be healthy members of
society. We are already paying taxes for the Medicaid Expansion in
the United States. We just have to convince our Governor to accept these taxes
back to Utah to cover the program rather than letting our already-paid taxes go
to other states that are accepting the Medicaid Expansion. A majority of states
are expanding Medicaid. I urge Governor Herbert to accept the
Medicaid Expansion and help care for the many Utahns who cannot receive basic
medical care under the current system!
Let's see... here's a possible solution...Let's raise
some tax money to pay for Bart, Sherilyn and Emily's health problems. And while we're at it, let's raise some more taxes for: - Food stamps so lazy people can dine out a couple-a times per week, - Payments to the unemployed so they can stay home and watch soaps on TV all
day, - Payments to single women with kids to increase incentives to have
more kids for more take, - Funding for free school breakfasts/lunches for
kids who's parents are too lazy to feed them, - Payments to unions to
bail out job killing salaries and benefits, - Payments to fix run-down
Detroit from exorbitant city union wages and benefits, - Bailouts for a
few selected banks so they can contribute to their favorite political party
(Democrat), - Disability payments so folks with a hang-nail and such
don't have to run the risk of going to work which would exacerbate their
condition, - Handouts of billions to countries whose inhabitants hate
us, - and much, much more.
Hey there wrz, you really are like a politician. What office do you hold? I
would suggest that if you are not that you contact your insurance agent and buy
every policy you can find ie short term dis., long term dis., every cancer
policy and anything I did not mention. And then hope you can keep up the
payments. I hope you don't get sick if you don't get them all or lose
your job. There re people out there who really need help!
