'Love it when the Republicans turn on each other.
Alright, the tea party is listing. A few more of these comments and the tea
party will be sunk.
Senator Lee is clueless and completely ineffective in Washington. His presence
in DC is a direct result of the Tea Party capturing the state caucus system a
few years ago. No one dislikes Obamacare more than I do, but Lee's
approach is a waste of time and nothing more than political grandstanding.
orin hatch lies when he says that the government will be shutdown if obamacare
is defunded. That is not at all what the House bill does and it passed the House
easily. Senators Lee & Cruz have been fighting and saying the same thing the
house has said yet orin has no other plan but to fall in line with destroyers of
a Nation. obama himself defunded the aca for all the special people
but left the average american to suffer the costs of the worst act since the
federal reserve act of 1913. orin has no guts and is devoid of
honor.Hooray for patriots who will stand against tyranny in the face
of those who should be friends but are deserters.
It is good to hear that one of Utah's U.S. Senator's has some good
judgment, when it comes to the budget.I am not a fan of ObamaCare.
ObamaCare needs to go. It is totally the wrong approach to affordable medical
care for the American people. But this is not the time to pick this
fight. It is futile. There will not be enough votes in the Senate, and even if
there were, Obama has promised to veto the bill. There is no way that even the
House has enough votes to override a veto, let alone the Senate. So, all
Senators Lee and Cruz are going to accomplish, is waste valuable time. Time
that is needed to reach a reasonable compromise on a budget.Come on,
Senator Lee. Grow a backbone, stand up to the right wing extremist Tea Party
people, and do something that is good for America, instead of watching out for
Keep at it Lee! Keep at it Cruz! What is shameful is that there are only two
senators willing to stand up (literally!) to socialism and more government
I support Lee and Cruz wholeheartedly. I don't agree with the "we
can't win so we're going to roll over" mentality. You never know
how much courage you give to others when you speak up for what you believe to be
right. Affordable care for America is wrong---in my opinion. This is a right
given to the states, not the feds. The closer to the problem, the more
effective the solution, and the federal government has proven time and time
again that they are almost never and effective solution. Let the states do as
they will, but constitutionally it doesn't belong at the federal level. I
say kill Obamacare any way you can. But even if you can't win, go down
Hatch is bound and determined to leave Washington in the good graces of the
entrenched power brokers. After all, he can come back as a lobbyist in a couple
of years. No point in upsetting future clients and people who can do him some
good. Now is the time to learn whether these RINOs will make good on their
campaign promises to stop Obamacare. If they let things ride they can say they
voted to block the ACA. The truth is that they can vote for the House version,
knowing full well 51 votes in the Senate will kill it.It's not that
hard to understand that Orrin doesn't want to make waves. He represents the
Good Old boys in the GOP, not the will of the people of Utah.
Thanks Sen. Hatch. Now if a Democrat will stand up and say let's
compromise, something positive may happen. Sen. Lee is rearranging deck chairs
on the Titanic.
The government shuts down every Friday night, and on long holiday weekends.
Doesn't hurt my life style at all. Not sure what the big deal is. Anyway, I like seeing Harry Reid in pout mode. Let them shut it down. What a
bunch of clown losers.
Orrin Hatch once again proves how liberal and out of touch he is.Is
he really representing the State of Utah? or the extreme left old guard of the
republican party? All you have do is look who supporting Hatch in
these comments. Truth is self evident.
When Orrin Hatch is liberal, you are an extreme right winger.
I just wished that we could get rid of every single one of them back there in
Washington and start all over. Get people in there and love this Country and
want to serve. Not those who love power or who are corrupt. We need good
leadership that's all there is to it. This is what we are lacking back
Sen. Hatch long ago sold his soul as a Washington DC insider politician. The
irony is that back when he was a new Senator he probably would have had the
actual character and principle to do something similar to what Sen. Lee and Sen.
Cruz are doing now.
@the truthExtreme left? Hah, he's a conservative. He's just
pragmatic and thinks a legislators job should be to legislate. I respect him,
but I wouldn't vote for him because I don't agree with him on much.
Would we have ever thought that the GOP would be eating it's own?
I just watched the last half hour of Mike Lee's principled and articulate
dismantling of Obamacare as a function of constitutional law and established
jurisprudence. It was superb! It reminded me of the words of an old family
friend, his father, and former solicitor general, Rex Lee. Next time we get a
Republican in the White House, Mike Lee needs to be appointed to the Supreme
Court. Orrin Hatch? He needs to retire or be recalled and the
sheeple that put him there need to be educated on their straying ways.
Just the opposite. I know the local media despises Mike Lee. But I actually
think he's doing a fantastic job in efforts with Cruz and Paul to turn the
nation's attention to our overbearing government. Though this
paper's editors have no problem with our bloated government and oppressive
taxation and loss of freedom and liberty, Mike Lee and a few others are waking
the nation up. I'm grateful to them. And I'm also grateful that Hatch
has recently exposed himself as a part of the problem...a Republican who just
wants to get along.
Principled filibuster?Ted Cruz simply loves to hear himself speak on
any subject.Just ask him.He also has publicly dismissed
veteran Republican Senators as being untrustworthy. It's no
wonder hatch has gone public with his frustration.Watching the
Republican circular firing squad in action is good for the soul.
When Hatch ran for election he SAID he would do whatever he could to defeat
Obamacare. He should've qualified that by saying "if its
o.k. with my good friend Harry Reid"!
Shame on Hatch. He claims to want to rescind Obamacare but attacks Lee and
refuses to vote to defund. He obviously is a GOP establishment member who lacks
the will to take a principled stand. He is an example of a politician who has
been there way too long and does not represent the majority of citizens who want
to get rid of Obamacare.
And what has Orin done to prevent the current situation except collect all of
the salary and benefits the congress has voted for themselves and exempted
themselves from those laws and regulations they impose on us? Orin has done
some good but his time has come and he needs to let someone else who really
represents us to sit in that office.
It is politically correct in Utah to trash the President in tea party fashion.
That creates the dilemma of supporting the Cruz and Lee show that will trash
any hope of a political comeback.
Call it a day Orin, you have no fight left in you and you have basically become
a Democrat voting for amnesty, going along with Obama on everything. What good
are you to us? Lee is at least doing what he was sent to do. I will take him any
day over you.
According to other news reports, the drama queen statement by Senator Cruz to
"speak until he can no longer stand", means until noon today. This is
due to the terms of the agreement between Cruz and Sen. Reid prior to his taking
the floor of the Senate.
Lee and Cruz are on a dangerous fool's errand. America is much worse off
because of them. Utah, please don't re-elect Mike Lee.
When I see Ted Cruz one word come to mind STATESMAN" this man has more
fortitude then the rest of the senate combined. God bless you Mr. Cruz!
In my not so humble opinion Mr. Hatch is way past his prime and is addicted to
the power of the incumbency. I think he does not, nor ever has had a sense of
what most of us live through as citizens. He and his other 99 senators live in
a well insulated cocoon of privilege and plenty. Government subsidized
cafeteria, barbershop, separate pension, exclusion from the Affordable Care Act,
huge staff and travel perks, the list is long.I feel he is arrogant
and imperial in his actions and at his age not really able to carry out the
duties of a senator. He goes along to get along and has not earned my vote for
several elections. To whit, I applaud the filibuster, I know it is a
failed cause but at least someone is standing up for a principle.
If I may ask all of you people on here that wants the GOP to defund (as you call
it ) Obamacare. If the GOP gets the votes to block it, and to defund it, just
what are they going to replace it with? Oh that's right they have never
thought that far a head. They have only had one thing in mind and that is if
Obama wants it: it has to be bad. Oh and if any of you can answer the question
please post what it is. And thank you.
Lee is an embarrassment to Utah. This political grandstanding gets nothing
accomplished and further polarizes the parties and their abilities to get
anything meaningful done. I agree with Hatch on this one.
When Mike Lee went in for the jugular vein of Senator Bennett he went in with
teeth and scalpel. He said every bad thing about the Senator in the caucus with
all his minions saying destructive things about the Senator. Senator Lee
didn't want to wait for 2 more years to take on Senator Hatch who is more
tenacious. He went after the diplomat Bennett who has a good demeanor but was
surprised by the carpet being pulled by the Tea Party activists of Glenn Beck
and the Freedom people who thought they could take down Senator Hatch. Senator
Hatch had 2 years to prepare for the onslaught.Mike Lee has sat on
the periphery for his time in the Senate. He has reached his half-way point
when he will start his campaigning for Senator without a history of voting. The people in Utah were misled by this man and took advantage of the
caucus system through devious ways, though legal, I am sure as he is an attorney
and respectable. He is drawing his own line in the sand and Senator Hatch
should chill out. He has been a Senator almost as long as Senator Lee has
Cant wait for the vote. Don't care how sausage is made or laws only
interested in who voted for what.
The affordable care act is bad legislation. It is pretty silly to need to go to
these measures to make a point but those are the rules. The act should be
Obama care is a train wreck coming down the track. Home Depot just informed
it's employees that part timers will lose their health benefits with the
company. Government employees get an exemption from it. Large companies have
petitioned and get an exemption from it. The unions have applied for an
exemption from it. Everybody that has clout in Washington is asking for
exemptions from it. If it's so good why do these Obama supporters now want
out of his health program? One thing is for sure. All of use without a
Washington contact are about to find out.
Has there ever been a clearer demonstration of the tyranny of the minority? As someone recently said, the man who wanted to repeal Obamacare lost
the last election. You either believe in democracy or you
don't. The people have spoken... get over it.
Orrin Hatch is a nice guy, but too much of a politician. What does he stand
for? What is he committed to? At least we know what Ted Cruz and Mike Lee are
committed to--WORKING for us!
If Hatch is blasting another republican, you KNOW that guys if off his rocker.
This almost-senior-citizen wants the new blood to get in there and smash the
status quo! I support Senators Cruz and Lee!
I am very pleased with Mike Lee. I applaud his tax reduction
initiative; finally someone wants to help responsible people to survive. I applaud his efforts to secure social security for current recipients
who paid for it, and for those individuals of younger generations who desire it.
I applaud his defence of the Constitution.Hatch on the
other hand has always been, in my observation, a slippery character who you
cannot rely on to support conservative measures.Ted Cruz, Mike Lee,
Jim DeMint, Jason Chaffetz, Senator Sessions, and a few score others who are
less in the limelight, are the only ones worth anything in Congress; I place
only a negative value on the others as congressmen.Ted Cruz stated
that he is NOT in receipt of, though eligible for, the Cadillac congressional
healthcare plan, for which plan taxpayers pay 72% of the costs. What
hypocrisy for congressmen to force Obamacare on the nation and obtain exemptions
for themselves. Truly they are referred to as "the princes of the
people".I would not vote for such hypocrites.Let
Congress vote for universal exemptions for all who desire it without fee or
not here asked - "If the GOP gets the votes to block it, and to defund it,
just what are they going to replace it with?"to "Not
Here" from Colorado Springs, CO - Let me make this simple enough for you to
understand, we don't want to replace Obamacare with anything. We
don't want the Federal Government taking over health care and increasing
our taxes to pay for their social engineering. I know this is a difficult
concept for a socialist to grasp but I hope I have made it plain enough for even
you to understand.
its so funny that so many are aganist the healthcare bill and no nothing about
it. doing nothing was not working. corporate health care is being done away with
at a record rate. if a company needs more money for stock holders they go after
labor first. or they ship jobs over seas. something both parties did to this
country by making the tax laws the candy shop of the rich and corpoation.
payroll insurance is drying up. this may be last stand of the working class to
have a good life. our children already are facing housing that costs more than
in history. colledge costs are making the lower middle class unable to go to
colledge. we will soon only have 2 class system.
Nice to see good and decent people in his own party distancing themselves from
Lee.He is one term and gone, and thank heavens for that.
With the behavior of Lee and his ilk, all this does is guarantee that Hillary
Clinton will be our next President.Likely a two-term President.
@IMAPatriot2 – “we don't want to replace Obamacare with
anything.”Thank you for your honest & guileless…
refreshing these days. And I strongly suspect most conservatives would agree
with you – why can’t more people just say what they think. So there you have it folks… conservatives simply want us to return to
the dysfunctional and bankruptcy generating healthcare system we had, end of
story.Keep in mind, this was a system that tens of millions of
Americans had no access to (short of collapsing outside an Emergency Room) with
millions more being priced out in the years ahead. This was a system
where insurance companies held your life in their hands, and would often let
their members fall through at their most desperate times. This was a
system with costs rising at three times the rate of inflation due to producers
having monopoly-type pricing power (for a number of irrefutable economic
reasons).Obamacare is far from perfect, but it’s a step in the
right direction. And there’s a reason why no developed country
in the world has a purely free market healthcare system… they don’t
Mike Lee stands for something, unlike Orrin Hatch. Didn't Hatch promise us
that he would lead the fight to do away with ObamaCare? So, now that the fight
is on, he runs and hides from his campaign promises. He said anything to get
elected and now that he has been elected, he throws us under the bus. Thanks,
Uncle Orrin - for nothing.
Senator Lee doesn't seem to understand how to get things done in
Washington. This type of grandstanding does nothing more than give the
Republican party a black eye. There is a reason that the tea party movement has
lost steam. Many of us don't respect their methods even though we may agree
with their position. At the time of his election I was frustrated
with how the Caucus system was taken over by a minority. Lee would have never
made it running against Bennett.
@Mike Richards South Jordan, Utah========= Believe
it or not, I agree with Orrin Hatch.BTW - Thanks Mike, for voting
Mike Lee and Ted Cruz. Two peas in a pod without a clue. I love the green eggs
and ham part of the hole morass because the moral of the story is you may hate
something until you try it. Now I don't support Obamacare and i don't
like it and it doesn't solve the problem of healthcare inflation but we
have been told by democrats we will like it when we use it But we keep saying
NO! These two irresponsible cowboys are doing more damage to the Republican
image than anyone in the history of the party save nixon. The reality is
totally opposite of their hypothesis and there doomsday approach will only ruin
the parties ability to get in power and solve the problem. Time to vote them
out and put in real conservatives who can solve problems without giving into
crazy ideas and being so estreme.
You Utahns are free to criticize Lee. But keep off of Cruz. Ted Cruz has shown
himself to be a true statesman, representing well the constituency that sent him
to Washington. He is against big government. Period. Something we
in Texas agree with. He does not participate in the taxpayer-funded health care
congress is eligible for. He wants a balanced budget. He wants tax reform. He
wants to cut federal spending and eliminate waste. He wants to repeal Obamacare
and pass laws that actually have a chance of decreasing the cost of health care
- Tort reform, more competition in insurance plans and prescription drugs. Obamacare has raised the cost of healthcare for every American, and
killed thousands of jobs already, as well as making government MUCH bigger in
the process, and giving ridiculous access to our personal information to
government organizations we don't trust - most importantly the IRS.Ted Cruz? We need more principled men and women of integrity like Ted
Cruz in Washington - people who remember that they work for US, not their
political fame and personal fortune. So rail on Lee, but back off of
Ted Cruz. Cruz is rocking the boat, and WE LIKE IT.
Hatch is a Dinosaur that has outlived his usefulness. I just hope Utah will soon
realize it. Senator Cruz makes me want to vote for a Republican President for
the first time ever.
Today I am ashamed that I voted for Orrin Hatch when he bacame a US Senator in
UT. Obamacaare is already a mess and it hasn't even been implemented.
Lost jobs, cut wages, higher ins premiums and overall costs. Not to mention I
nor anyone else (except union, govt elite, and a select other few) have the
option to not have health insurance under this law. I appreciate
what Mike Lee and Ted Cruz have done to bring attention to the fact that the
majority of Americans do not want this law.
I would like to remind Senator Hatch that our Country still has "Freedom of
Speech" and encourage fellow Congressmen to speak out, not by bullying them
to silence. Why have we not been kept informed about all of our
precious freedoms we have lost because no one has spoken out. Ex.Federal Reserve
& IRS not Federal agencies, Thousands of Gov. agencies are
un-Constitutional, Congress not deciding when we put our troops in harms way,
securing our borders, proving our President IS QUALIFIED, allowing the monster
NSA to be in our backyard using 1,700,000 of water a day in our DRY ARID State.
Mr Hatch you and several of your buddies have been in the Washington circle to
long, you forgot who you work for. I hope your all voted out, when the party you
represent can even support those that were voted in to do the bidding of the
people that's pretty bad. The only reason the Demos keep winning is because
the republicans destroy each other. How about getting your heads out of the kool
aid and sticking together, 10 and 11 people desiring to be president and then
smash each other so badly that they are basically ruined so votes are so split
or their not voted for. Wise up Repubs, but more than that lets get together on
what your platform is. Just saying
@Open Minded Mormon,"Believe it or not, I agree with Orrin
Hatch."--------It's not surprising that you
agree with Hatch. You agree with Obama. You agree with Reid. You agree with
Polosi. You agree that we should be forced to pay for someone else's
medical bills. You agree that you should be paid to work in defense but that
America should not be allowed to defend itself. It's not
surprising that you believe in Hatch, not surprising at all.
@atlHatch a conservative?Nothing of the sort.Hew is democrat from Pennsylvania, who came to Utah and pretends to be a
Republican esoecially around election time and when it is safe to. Otherwise he
is breaking his election promises. He is the definition of RINO.Has
spent most of his career supporting democrats and their legislation, like ted
kennedy, and never done thing with a single conservative republican.Hatch conservative? That's hilarious!
I am totally with Cruz and Mike Lee on this one. I have been ashamed of Hatch
for some time. He is a man of limited intellect and talent who at least once
had some principles, but he has since lost both his principles and his courage.
How we needed someone other than Hatch to help in this fight! How in the world
did we send him back to the Senate? I watched Cruz's filibuster for
several hours. It was a tour de force. There is not another man of his guts,
talent and principles in Washington, but Lee comes close. Lee's unmasking
of the Supreme Court in the Obamacare opinion was the best I have heard.
When Mike Lee speaks, normal people react as they would in the presence of a
flatulent house pet.
As someone who voted for Senator Hatch many times....Is there a way
to recall Senator Hatch? He certainly does not represent us any longer.
@Mike RichardsSouth Jordan, UtahIt's not surprising that
you agree with Hatch. =========== Ah, I didn't vote
for him.You did. That's why it's so ironic and
hypocritical of you to complain about him.BTW - the Defense of this
nation IS in the Constitution.Read it yourself.Believe it or
not - my job is to help "Lean" out the DoD, help it be more effective
and more efficient. It's a HUGE job, but somebody's got to do
it.Perhaps we can contact you for a Government contract regarding
Good for Orrin Hatch. Common sense has fled the Republican Tea Party. No, wait.
It never had common sense. I was a Republican for most of my life, but this
insanity and time-and- money-wasting tantrum throwing have driven me away.I find their behavior power-grabbing, self-serving, and completely out of
touch with what is happening in this country. Especially Matheson.
@Open Minded,If you want to "lean out" the DOD, turn in your
resignation. Why should you fire others? Aren't their needs equal to
yours? Don't their families count? Or, do you take satisfaction in giving
out "pink slips"? Where's your compassion? I've never fired
anyone in my life. When things got tough, we all worked together to rebuild the
business. I took the same cut as those who worked with me.As to how
I voted, were you in the booth with me? Not even my wife knows how I voted, nor
would I ever ask her how she voted. It's none of my business and it's
none of your business. It's called a "private ballot" for a reason.
Just what do I have to do with AutoDesk or AutoCAD? Is that another
incorrect assumption that you made? You and Hatch have a lot in
common. Take that anyway that you want.
Hatch is operating in the realm of reality while Lee is operating in the land of
what he wishes reality was. If Cruz and Lee had succeeded, the government would
end up in a shut-down. Poll after poll show that the Republicans would take a
hit in the 2014 mid-term elections which would make it more difficult to change
any portion of the health care law. Hatch knows what can and cannot be
accomplished when you are a minority party in the Senate. If you read what he
has said on the issue you will realize that he wants to dismantle Obamacare. He
just understands that the Lee and Cruz approach doesn't have a good ending
either in 2013, 2014 or in the Presidential election in 2016. Lets be real here
- do you think Obama would sign any law that defunds his signature
accomplishment and if he wouldn't sign it the Senate would need 67 votes to
over-ride. At some point you have to say to yourself, "what can I do with
this hand I've been dealt?' Lee has a pair of 3's and acts like
he has a royal flush. The cards are not there.
Think of the money we could save if the govt. was shut down.
I have always supported Hatch, but today I received an email from him that is
the best example of doublespeak I have ever read. If he is so anxious to kill
Obamacare, why did he vote to remove the best leverage the Republicans have to
kill it? His email:"Dear Friend:"The
effort to defund Obamacare is at the forefront of the nation's attention as
we fight to bring fiscal sanity back to an issue that will impact every single
American. The Senate unanimously voted today to move forward with debate on the
Continuing Resolution spending bill which funds all of government except
Obamacare. As I said, the vote was unanimous: 100-0."I applaud
the House for passing a government funding bill last week to fund all of the
government except for the President's disastrous health law. Defunding
Obamacare is the right thing to do, and that's why I voted to proceed to
the House-passed bill that defunds the law."...The more Utahns
and their fellow Americans learn about Obamacare the more they hate it, and by
voting this way we move the ball forward in a way that impacts Obamacare the
Sign the petition and we can get rid of these ultra right(and left) wing
candidates who are trying to ruin this great country.
@Mike RichardsSouth Jordan, Utah@Open Minded,If
you want to "lean out" the DOD, turn in your resignation. Why should you
fire others? Or, do you take satisfaction in giving out "pink slips"?
==== Oh brother...here we go again.1. I
don't fire anybody.2. I look over Engineering drawings from
hundreds and thousands of DoD suppliers. When I find one raking the United
States taxpayer $17,000 for a bolt, or $5,000 for a washer, I find someone else
meeting the same rigid Engineering criteria that is also a certified DoD
supplier and change the part number to order the cheaper one -- NOT the
ridiculously expensive Corporate one.I'm authorized to do so.The $BILLIONS I witness daily being wasted would make even YOU cringe,
and is one reason why I loathe the very Corporations you worship.Sell a weapon system -- and hide in the contract, the supplies required
[goops, glues, paint, nuts, bolts, washers, wiring -- stuff from HomeDepot]
these Corporations are silently gutting taxpayers -- until guys like me catch
them at it.Makes the Mafia look like silly little chumps. That's how they play in the BIG league.
Orrin Hatch is a progressive Republican, meaning he isn't fit to represent
normal people. Time for him to retire to the east coast with the rest of
'em. Obamacare is doing horrible damage to our budget and my wife needs to
be covered for her disabilities.I prefer to be free of him;
regardless of his "clout" to save Hill AFB as his only method of
re-election. I don't think it was really threatened after all.
21 and 1/2 hours, And not ONE new idea, solution, or alternative.Ridiculous.
Thank you senator Lee. Those of us who have common sense applaud you!
It was not a filibuster, it was a media show for the gullible.
Mike Lee is quite a guy. Willing to make the majority suffer for the good of the
few. Interesting that, for such a smart guy, he hasn't presented us with a
real, workable health care plan. Maybe he, like many other Americans, knows so
little about the Affordable Health Care act that he has no idea how to improve
it. So shut down the government. That will show them.
Utah got snookered when they re elected Hatch. He has been in DC way too long.
Mike Lee is intelligent, articulate and right in step with the majority of Utah
voters. Ted Cruz performed a great service to the everyday citizen by exposing
Obamacare for the train wreck, partisan piece of legislation enacted without one
republican vote in either the house or senate. The lies, horsetrading, bribes and
fraud used to get the votes in the senate were done during the Christmas Holiday
to avoid the scrutiny it deserved. It is hurting businesses in Utah right now as
they try to understand it and how it affects their employees.
Hello, I am going to assume that most people reading this are members of the
church of Jesus Christ of the latter day saints -- so you are Christians.Hatch is intelligent, capable, and interested in what is best for Utah
and right for America. The other guy represents the worst in modern
politics; the notion that anyone who is an opponent in any way should be buried
by whatever means, whether true and honest or not.The Affordable
Care Act, according to all the studies, seems to benefit millions of
Americans. In fact, it was a republican idea, which ought to have been
passed 40 years ago.Rich hospital corporations, doctors, and
pharmaceutical interests have spent many millions to make you think that
universal health care is the work of socialist devils. If you believe
in Christ, how can you not see that His children deserve health care.If you believe in fiscal responsibility, how can you not see that keeping
folks from having to go bankrupt, or having to call 911 is good? The
unfortunately hateful side of the republican party, including one Utah senator,
does not care who they hurt.
(R Short Sale on his house) Lee and Cruz (R Canadian) both voted for this bill
in the end. Nice political theater and no real substance.
Really ?!........Senator Cruz.........GREEN EGGS AND HAM ?!Really
?! Senator Cruz YOU have just GAVANIZED the Independent &
Democratic voters AGAINST the Republican Party even more than they were BEFORE
YOUR FILABUSTER SPEECH !!! Nice job of handing the next Presidential
election.....AWAY FROM....your own Republican Party !
Something to ponder: would Cruz and/or Lee do this if the bill belonged to
Senator Hatch became conservative 2 years before the 2012 elections. I believed
that he had truly changed. This has so far proved to be incorrect. More than
once he has sided with his liberal buddies. He stated he would fight against
OBAMACARE before his election. Where is the evidence he has done that? We need
this fight to be more transparent so the American people can know the tricks
being played to keep it alive. NO back room negotiations with Dirty HARRY.I was a pretty active proponent of Senator Hatch in the caucus meetings.
I regret that decision. In an interview I watch he was ask about the
congressional staff getting a subsidy for Obamacare because they were left out.
His response was that they should get the same benefits as congressional people
they work for. He was very elitist in his response. I don’t know why
congress should be on a different plan than the American people. Especially if
we are being herded like cattle to the single payor plan.SENATOR
HATCH please help us to overturn OBAMACARE NOW. You promised that but I see no
evidence of a promise being fulfilled.
Orrin Hatch is exactly what is wrong with Washington, career politicians. I was
sick to my stomach when he was re elected. He cares nothing about us, afterall
he is exempt from this. I love Mike Lee and Ted Cruz. Finally people who
represent us people, not their own ideals. We don't want Obamacare and
it's wrong to be forced on us.
Why is the DN fueling the civil war in the GOP? Hatch's
statement in the piece is subdued and reasonable (and correct in my opinion),
but the headline that jumps out at you is "Orrin Hatch blasts Mike Lee."
No, he made a statement in disagreement of Cruz's and Lee's approach
-- which is perfectly fine.Republicans need to stop attacking one
another. Disagreement is fine, but save attacks for the opposing party.
I agee with Senator Hatch! Who I have great repect for!
At least Lee and Cruz are doing something for us...Hatch only thinks of himself
and his standing amongst his fellow democrats. It's beyond me to comprehend
how our country has become so weak and the answer to that concern
is...Democrats. They are dangerous and only for themselves and that is what
scares me. We have a President who is not what he pretends to be. The power of
persuasion is strong in politics and the power of money and standing amongst
their cohorts is very powerful. I don't know how we will win but I just
continue to pray to the Lord for His help in this very sad situation.
re: one vote on 9/24Populist movements have a short shelf. I'm
surprised the Tea party has lasted this long.
tp Mike Richards at 12:30 p.m. on Sept. 25,"Mike Lee stands for
