Obviously there is blame to share: Democrats and Republicans laid the
foundation for the Great Recession more than a decade ago. Obama's
policies have not helped, and have actually dragged the recovery through a
painfully slow period of anemic growth. There are no statesmen
visible to raise a voice of reason, to lead the country in the right direction.
Instead we have Obama throwing insults and threats, and Republicans
reciprocating with quivering lips.If leaders truly wanted to help
the poor and middle class, they should visit with LDS Church leaders and learn
how the LDS Church caries out its welfare efforts.
The Dear Leader just loves taking credit for everything, why not the poverty
level. Since he was anointed, the poverty level went from 14.3% to 15.1%.
Where are all those shovel ready jobs?
If the government would stop subsidizing and enabling permanent poverty with
massive entitlements, millions of people in poverty could rise above and become
wealthy like they used to in this country. Since the 1950's and after
trillions of taxpayer dollars thrown at poverty, we have more poverty in America
today than existed then, just like Detroit. Proving the government can not, will
not and never shall solve poverty but it does create a permanent underclass of
dependency with no father in the home which creates other social problems like
crime, even more poverty and drug addictions. Wake up America before its too
Well barack?I guess your plans are working like you've been
telling us they would huh?
This has nothing to do with Obama, the truth is that the president has very
little to do with the unemployment level. More unemployment and more poverty are
just the outcomes of advanced capitalism and globalization. Get used to it,
it's just the new norm.
IF Obamacare stays in place AND Obama gets his amnesty for 30 million
"new" low-skilled foreign workers it WILL break the American economy. We might could, (if enough of the middle class workers STAY
working)economically survive the impact of one of these issues, but our economy
can't absorb the impact of both of these job killers.
the biggest factor in the high poverty rate among children is living in
single-parent householdsyet dem policies continue to belittle the
traditional family.jeru0455BO has nothing to do with
job-killing obamacare, tax policy, or the EPA? nice try at an excuse.
Yes, let's blame Obama. After all, shouldn't he be telling everyone to
work harder? Instead, he was playing golf, right?
Responsibility is what is missing. Ever since Truman's great social
experiment, welfare roles and proverty have been increasing. Lets start asking
for some accountability of individuals. For example, single parent
families (most of which are headed by a mother) filled with children sired by
multiple fathers who have no incentive to care for their offspring and mothers
who were raised by welfare mothers who see the only way to get ahead is to have
more children so that their welfare check increases. How about
requiring the person responsible for co-creating these children have to pay for
child support until they are 18 years old and graduated from high school, which
ever is later. perhaps they will think a little harder about that 15 - 60
minutes of fun and its consequences. If they won't or can't
pay, then they can work on public projects such as cleaning up roads, parks, and
other activities we currently pay with tax dollars. In this way we get
something back for our taxes. If either continues to procreate
without recognizing that they have some responsibility for the outcome, then
sterilization or long term birth control measures will need to be imposed.
@lost in DC"yet dem policies continue to belittle the traditional
family."A refusal to condemn non-traditional families is not the
same as belittling traditional families...
About fifty million people are on food stamps. If each food stamp fed three,
than half our people are government fed.Add school lunches,
unemployment, disability, etc,---and poverty could easily exceed 15%.Obama keeps putting fuel in the fire.
