Looking at the picture, true to form, the BYU player is the little brother.

Gosh I have grown to really hate the pitiful reporting comes with each Holy War week. People like Jeff Call and a zillion others simply pull out the stories they have written from years past or since being given the game assignment change a few names, dates, and records, voila today's story. Is it not possible to come up with a new angle aside from the brother vs brother, husband vs wife, parents that have one son at Utah and one at BYU and are conflicted about it. Tomorrow will bring the dichotomy of coaches at Utah who played for BYU, Wednesday comes the kids at Utah who couldn't make the grade at BYU, Friday gives us the kids at Utah that grew up BYU fans but weren't offered along with the kids at BYU who grew up Utah fans that weren't offered, and the chip(s) sitting on each shoulder. BORING

One of the biggest games of the year and as always, Utah will play hard and win.

Byu will likely come out with a lot of emotion, and then a challenge comes they'll start cowering in a corner. byu is just to emotionally soft.

It's quite wonderful watching them self destruct against Utah

    4-0 SWEEP

2nd sweep in last 15 years.

Do you know how far back you have to go to get last two 4-0 streaks for byu over Utah?

    Far

    Very Far

    Very very far

It looks like Trevor made the right decision to play for an Elite, Prestigious, and Beloved BCS program like Utah. Unlike the Indy-Wacy one that chose to play for a Non-elite, Non-Prestigious, and Non-beloved program like BYU. Trevor realized that its better to "lose every game in the PAC-12 than to be Independent." Ain't that right Chris B.?

Excuse my little sister's desperate and emotional rant. She's obviously entered full-fledged panic mode after Saturday's home field beat down by a team that couldn't even beat Weber State conference mate Eastern Washington.

After last Saturday's melt down, the Utes are facing the very real possibility of a 2-7, 1-8, or even a 0-9 PAC season, so BYU will very likely be Utah's bowl game, again.

Since our team has decided to run away and hide for the next two seasons, this year's rivalry game is a three-fer; three years of bragging rights for the cost of one win.

    Christy,

We just realized that fresno is a more high profile team and provides a bigger challenge than byu.

When byu beat Texas, did the media talk about how good byu was or how terrible texas was?

AS you see, byu is not half the national program you think you are

Fresno is as good if not better program than byu

    Chris B.

Smack talk aside, seriously why did Utah lose that game? They should have demolished Oregon State. I get the fact that OSU is an Elite PAC-12 team too but Utah is obviously the superior team. So why did they lose? Emotions? Pressure? Tired? What? There's no excuses of course but why did they lose? Because I thought that they were gonna be 4-0 and a top 25 ranking, I really did.

  • Christy B Salt Lake City, Utah

Sorry little sister, but a team that only has TWO lifetime AP Top 25 finishes (#24 in 1992 and #22 in 2004), can't seriously be compared to a team that has SEVENTEEN AP Top 25 finishes, including a National Championship, and FOUR AP Top 25 finishes since 2006.

Regardless of how much we try to live in denial, our Utes are running away from BYU because, as our good Dr. Hill said, we're not good enough to handle playing BYU and Michigan OOC in the same season.

-2013 Ute Seniors Sweep ByU 4-0
I cant take anything you say seriously after your comment before the Oregon state game

"2013 Ute Seniors SWEEP byU 4-0
    Ogden, UT
Our offense is better than their defense and our defense is much better than their offense.

I think their QB will be spending all night on his back side.

    Utah wins easy

    Utah 34
    Osu 17."

Yea that didn't really pan out the way you thought. And neither will the BYU game.

    GO COUGARS!

Any fan who would try to equate Fresno State to BYU obviously doesn't know much about football.

With only two AP Top 25 finishes in their entire history, the Bulldogs are much more like the Utes (only five AP Top 25 finishes), than the Cougars (SEVENTEEN AP Top 25 finishes).

    ------------

Despite christina's desperate attempt to deny reality, the national media recognized BYU with several weekly awards after BYU's beat down of Texas, including:

-Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) National Team of the Week
-CBSSports Player of the Week - Taysom Hill
-Athlon Nat'l Player of the Week - Taysom Hill

    A-Aron(great name by the way),

I thought Utah's defense played terribly Considering how bad Utah's offense was and with Utah putting up a ton of points, even with 3 picks by Wilson give me a lot of optimism for the season.

The defense, which is usually great, underperformed.

Considering byu has the worst passer rating QB in the entire country I'm not too worried about this Saturday, however.

BYU is nationally recognized by the sports media and coaches all around the country. Here's the reason that the game time for this week's game was delayed. If BYU lost to Texas, then the rivalry game would have been on one of the lesser ESPN channels. Since the Cougars won over Texas, the game was set for ESPN2. The utes should thank the Cougars for having a chance to be on National television. If the utes were Independent, they WOULDN'T HAVE A CONTRACT WITH ESPN or any other network.

So many of you posters here are just plain sad. Unfortunately, that won't change regardless of what happens this Saturday. Obsession, paranoia, and bitterness run deep in this rivalry and it gets worse by the year.

I see their father, Russ, in the background of a couple of the pictures. Look at his smile! From purely an athletic standpoint, can there be any better experience for a parent? Then you throw in Church Missions and Temple Marriage, then you get a real glimps of what pure joy and happiness is.

I will give Chris B some props. The prestigious U of U has QB #11 in the country as far as passer rating. Well done. His average is right around what Taysom Hill got against Texas. And while I think taysom will play better than his current QBR is (63) it is nowhere near the last place team. In fact he is 56 of 132 according to the world wide leader. If you want to have any shred of credibility, stick to your facts.

And it's true, when byu beat texas there was a lot of talk on ESPN and other national television and web companies talking about the game, and how texas isn't that good. Just like they all talked about Utah's wins...oh wait, that's my bad, they didn't.

Looking forward to the game this weekend. Hopefully both teams play to the best of their respective abilities with no injuries. I really don't think we can draw much information from this years wins/losses so far. Still too early to know which opponents were actually decent teams. I.e. each week Texas looks weaker and weaker.

May the best team win and may that team be BYU!
