If the US was going to strike they missed the opportunity. Military targets are
no longer there without killing civilians. Let's wait some more, and let
the UN take action. Problem is the hesitation will hurt Isreal and they will
take the retaliation. But then that would make those who have hesitated really
happy. We live in a strange World.
Theology aside, there is no strategic target or plan for bombing Syria. It would
only serve to legitimize Mr. Obama's threats of a game changer or crossing
a red line. Killing Syrian conscripts with smart bombs serves little purpose
other than to weaken their army and increase the likelihood of a jihadist
For the Mormon posters...I have a simple question. Does God have the power to
prevent evil and why are religious leaders influence for good so feckless.
skepticGod has power over all things, but He grants unto us
according to our free will, faith, and desires. But, in the context of that
statement, you should also understand that while evil is subject unto God, it
was not created by Him. Evil exists because of the very same free
will we have in mortality, but in the pre-mortal realm, where the devil and his
angels fell from grace by choice and became the influence of opposition in this
world to prove us as a means to learn by exercising our own decisions. To really understand these concepts, one must see things from an eternal
perspective. To apply philosophies of men and mortal understanding might
portray a God only of justice and not mercy unto His children. This is evident
scripturally (particularly in the Old Testament) and with everyday world events
like the Syria conflict. An eternal perspective is aquired with actions of
faith that God may then grant knowledge by His Spirit. As to leaders
being feckless, in what example and capacity have leaders in the Church of Jesus
Christ of Latter Day Saints (past or present) shown this quality?
EternalPerspective,Thank you for your explanation, it helps to
explain the role of the evil doer; but it doesn't explain the role of the
innocent eight year old child who has suffered and died from toucher of being
gased. Is he/she just a pawn in the scheme of things. If one positioned
oneself as a representative of God to receive revelation then it seems to be
feckless leadership if the innocent child is not warned or protected.
