It sounds like my Aggies are focused and have that all important chip on their shoulder!

The fist game is HUGE, but more so for the utes... without a win, I don't see them getting to 6 wins no matter what.

USU can lose and still get 8!

Win in the MWC or lose in the pac10.2?

Enjoy those comfy couches in the post season :)

    Sofa,

It's all about being the best. Utah is a better program, in a better conference, better history, better(more) money, better facilities, better coaching, better athletes(see head to head recruiting or average stars, whichever you prefer) and a much better record head to head.

I hope the aggies do well this season. But winning the MWC(WAC 2.0) is not much to brag about.

You think national respect comes from winning the WAC 2.0?

    LOL

Try beating powerhouse Alabama in a bowl game to cap an undefeated season and finish top 5 multiple times in one decade.

Why are you baiting the Utes? I'm excited for this season more than any other than i can remember and i've been an avid Aggie fan for over 50 years. All i want to say is GO AGGIES!!! and i could care less about the Utes and the Cougars. If we play like we are capable they won't be an issue.

The irony in Chris B's smack talk is so thick you can cut it with a knife: he brags how the Utes finished in the top 5 twice while they were in the MWC, the very conference he claims winning isn't much to brag about.

So quit bragging about what happened five years ago, Chris! If you're truly ashamed of the MWC, talk about your PAC-12 excellence instead... oh wait.

I love my MWC membership! Teams who have something to prove and play like it.

Being in a BCS conference doesn't necessarily imply U belong there.

    sofa,

Like a Chihuahua yapping at a pit bull.

The Aggies are a class program, up and coming in the MWC. I'll be cheering for ya after the 29th. Hope you go 11 and 1, and make it to a major bowl.

    Don't get Yney on us.

    Go Utes...Go Aggies.

    oh chrisbe...

    being the best huh...

what is better, the top of a non AQ conference, or the bottom of an AQ conference?

Where do you think your "nation respect" came from? your time in the pac10.2? or the MWC?
You HAD respect at one time, but honestly, you still think you do?

You are currently the 3rd ranked FBS school in the state. Doesn't sound like a lot of nation respect to me.

Football is all about LATELY... not 5 or 10 years ago, but lately.

ekute.... I'm not man... the utes are my second fave team in the state. just getting chrisbe's goat...

I cheer for you every game but 1.

    @sambone

"he brags how the Utes finished in the top 5 twice while they were in the MWC, the very conference he claims winning isn't much to brag about."

    That's right!

Winning the MWC was not a big accomplishment. It certainly isn't now as the MWC is worse now than it was with TCU, Utah, and byu.

I'm bragging about top 5 finishes and beating Alabama in a bowl game.

You'll notice I never bragged about our MWC championship those years, because no one cares about a MWC title!

Thanks for helping to prove my point!

    LOL

  • Sambonethegreat Salt Lake City, UT
    Aug. 20, 2013 2:25 p.m.

Yawn, Chris. If it wasn't a big accomplishment winning an MWC title, than how come U couldn't win it every year you were in the conference? *cough* 2010 *cough*

The current MWC now is comparable to the old MWC in my opinion. Not quite as top heavy as before, but plenty of quality teams all around in Boise, Fresno, San Diego State, San Jose State, Nevada, and my Aggies.

Every one of those teams can compete with (or straight-up clobber) U.

And nobody cares about the bowl win over Alabama anymore because THAT WAS FIVE YEARS AGO! Tell me about your PAC-12 excellence... oh wait. Tell me about that time you beat a PAC opponent with a winning record... oh wait. Tell me about the time you whooped bottom-feeding Colorado... oh wait.

    Still waiting.

Just way too much to LOL about in a couple of these comments. Funnier every day though. I'll give her that.

I wonder if she puts as much effort in to talking smack on the Oregon, Stanford, and USC articles. I mean, they are her league now, right? Why waste her time on the insignificant little JV warmup teams like USU and BYU??? Unless she's obsessed, of course.

When reality AGAIN sets in, like it assuredly will, and like it assuredly did last year, she'll instantly revert back to last decade and her team's 2 good seasons. It's no wonder real Ute fans are beginning to publicly distance themselves from her and her "Mark it down" LOLing.

Sambonethegreat, best comment of the day. Period. Just don't expect Chris to look over his obsession and realize the gravity of Utah's current nothingness on the national level any time soon.

  • Tators Hyrum, UT
    Aug. 20, 2013 4:18 p.m.

Two facts seem very clear to those not obfuscated by crimson colored glasses:

    1) USU will give Utah more than they can handle... just like last year. Utah is in big trouble with all of their in-state games this year. Well, maybe not with Weber. USU is for real for the 2nd year in a row and counting. Utah trolls are taking them too lightly. Utah is currently the 3rd ranked FBS school in the state and will finish the season the same way.

    2) Until Utah can once again get back to having a winning season and become bowl qualifiers, then Chris B, ekute and other trolls have nothing to brag about... unless they believe ancient history impresses anyone. It doesn't. It's what have you done lately, Chris?

  • Chris B Salt Lake City, UT
    Aug. 20, 2013 4:22 p.m.

    Sambone,

We're like 19 out of 20 against you the last 20 years!

And if you think the MWC is the same now as before, you're alone in that assumption. The MWC lost 2 team to BCS conferences, 1 to independent, and gained WAC teams. Again, if your believe that the WAC additions are the same as TCU, Utah, and to a lesser degree byu, you're the only one in the nation who thinks that!

At the end of the day, there is a reason the Pac 12 WANTED Utah, and didn't bother phoning Logan even once!

    LOL

Good job on storming the field against us though. When was the last time Utah stormed the field after a win over the aggies?

    LOL!

  • tinplater scottsdale, AZ
    Aug. 20, 2013 8:24 p.m.

Of course the Aggies stormed the field...they were an underdog and have been for two decades. You miss the point, the issue is now, not last year, last five years, last 20 years. The Aggies will probably be underdog again against the U on the 29th, but expect them to be competitive against a program with more money, more assets, more everything, higher tier conference. The nice thing is if they win all the drivel from Chris B. is debunked. If they win, so he called it right. So what, a betting man would take the Utes anyday. Go Aggies!

    Aug. 20, 2013 9:27 p.m.

And a betting man would be smart tinplater. Welcome to this forum. USU doesn't stand a chance now the the Utes are angry.

  • Tators Hyrum, UT
    Aug. 21, 2013 1:56 p.m.

    @ Chris B:

You're trying to make fun of the Aggies for storming the field against the Utes last year. Well guess what... The Utes stormed the field not once, but 3 different times last year in their last game against BYU! You were probably in the middle of it each time. Obviously they (you) felt it was a big deal and that you were very, very lucky to pull that one off. And you were!

And like tinplater said... all of your drivel will be debunked on the 29th of this month, and also again on the 21st of next month. And then alas, we all get to enjoy a full year without anymore. Hallelujah!

Chris, even though this article is about the Aggie offense, I just want to personally thank U and Ute nation for not putting a muzzle on Erickson's media comments.

I read a tweet from Tony Jones (Ute beat writer) that says: "Erickson said he'd be disappointed if he didn't score 30 points next week against Utah State."

As if our guys needed more motivation! Thank you thank you!

Our defense is gonna knock the stuffing out of U!

    Aug. 21, 2013 3:52 p.m.

    @Tators

Are you scared of UofU now that you don't have Andersen? Is that why you are happy not to play them ever again after this season?

    @Sambone

It's not impossible with USU going backwards from last year.

  • TallNSkinny43 Germantown, MD
    Aug. 21, 2013 4:30 p.m.

    @ Chris B

10 bucks says that if Utah wins this year they rush the field against USU. Probably 3 times.

    Aug. 21, 2013 4:43 p.m.

Well, sounds like Erickson is in for some "disappointment" then...

    That's some locker room material.

  • Sambonethegreat Salt Lake City, UT
    Aug. 21, 2013 10:35 p.m.

Sure Stango, it's possible. Probable though? You're selling our Defense WAY short. Even Gary Andersen himself said the Aggie defense would be better this year. And he has A LOT more credibility on the defensive side of the ball than you do.

  • Stang08 Southern, UT
    Aug. 22, 2013 1:22 p.m.

Your team as a whole is nothing without him. I'm suprised you trust what he says. After all, he is the one that said he would never leave USU and a week later accepted a job with WISC. So why do you trust him? The aggies are down since Andersen went to bigger and better things.

  • The A Game Logan, UT
    Aug. 22, 2013 1:51 p.m.

    Stanley,

How do you know the Aggies are down since Andersen left? Have the Aggies played since then? If they had I'm sure you would be there considering your obsession with USU. Regarding bigger and better things, I can now see why your allegiance has changed from the chickens to the Aggies. Bigger and better in every way.

  • Stang08 Southern, UT
    Aug. 22, 2013 4:14 p.m.

How long did it take you to come up with that? Because Andersen was the only reason you did well. Now that he is gone it's almost certain USU won't be successful in 2013. It's common knowledge that when a successful coach leaves the team will not do well the next year. I'm not a fan and you know that. Supporting USU would be a step down for me. I would never do that. As always you are putting words in my mouth. But you are welcome to come to Cedar for a few games. I'd love to see you and chat with you. The invite has been sent so it's up to you to accept.

  • The A Game Logan, UT
    Aug. 22, 2013 7:34 p.m.

Ever heard of Urban Meyer and Kyle Whittingham Stanley? Proof that a successful coach leaving does not guarantee a horrible season. No one is saying the Aggies will go undefeated. And no one except you is saying they will lose every game. At the same time, we really appreciate it when SUU Chickadee fans show so much support for the Aggies.

One last thing. "Andersen was the only reason you did well." That's because Andersen is a wizard and can turn into 22 football players. He's the best football player USU has ever seen. But not quite as good as SUU players.

That's a little immature don't you think? I see this kids name is Stang08 not Stanley. Please everyone stop being confrontational. It is true that teams generally don't have the same success they did the previous year when their coach leaves. But it isn't a fact. Look at when Coach Andersen got the job. Much more improved from the Brent Guy era. And look at Coach Lamb at SUU. Much more improved from pretty much every coaching ara previous. Yes that includes Coach Andersen. Not trying to start anything just presenting facts. Please everyone join me in wishing all in state teams good luck for the upcoming year.
