    Dear Max,

Our seniors are about to complete the career 4-0 SWEEP over your former team. Your team hasn't beaten us since your rant.

    Karma is a beast

    Dear Chris,

Max is getting paid to play football. When was the last time you pulled in a check as a professional athlete?

    Reality is a beast.

The truth is your freshmen are about to start a career winless streak against your rival.

Get used to the couch potato bowl.

    Reality is a beast.

    @ Snack WAC

Wishful thinking by a desperate fan base down south. You cannot base one season on how our future will play out. Utah will have up years and down years just like every other BCS school in the country.

Get used to another loss in September which will complete the 4-0 sweep against our little brothers. Which reminds me of the last time Utah swept the Cougars, it was from 2002-2005. Both these sweeps will have happened in the modern BCS era of football. It will be a long two years before you get another chance to play the Utes.

    Reality is a beast!

    Elmer Fudd,

In their minds the byu "fans" will count the 2 years not playing as wins. They are very good at keeping the Reality Beast at bay. lol.

Example of pure Karma; “I don’t like Utah. In fact, I hate them. I hate everything about them. I hate their program, their fans. I hate everything." Max Hall

Two days later Max high tailed it out of Provo to begin his career that never was.

    @Jeff29..."Dear Chris,

My guess is about the same time you did.

"You cannot base one season on how our future will play out."

No more so than Utah fans can base Utah's future on two flash-in-the-pan seasons.

The hard truth is Utah has been a mediocre to bad program for most of their history; only 6 WAC/MWC championships in 49 years and only 5 AP Top 25 finishes in their entire history is proof of that.

Your first two years in the PAC are NOT an anomaly, they're Utah's new reality.

    Get used to it.

    Snack PAC,

The hard truth is that Utah has owned byu on the field for most of their history.

Utah's reality will always be a beast for byu.

    snack PAC--

"No more so than Utah fans can base Utah's future on two flash-in-the-pan seasons."

How many undefeated seasons in byu's history? How many in The U's?

    3 straight, 4 of 5, 8 of 11, 13 of 20 and the insurmountable overall record, 56-34-4=Owned!

"Much like his first NFL start, former BYU quarterback Max Hall earned his first start in the CFL because the quarterbacks previously in front of him on the depth chart had done little to manufacture offensive output or wins."

"But Hall also turned the ball over three times, including two second-half interceptions."

Utterly priceless! Some things never change!

Embarrassing that he played for my H.S. S/h stayed-put at ASU and followed in the legendary footsteps of his late great grandfather, Whizzer, and his uncle Danny.

    @ekute...

"The hard truth is that Utah has owned byu on the field for most of their history"...

Now that is funny... Did you read that out loud to yourself after you wrote it??? Were you able to keep a straight face?...LOL...

Here's the actual stats for the past 50 years by 10 year increments:

    2003 through 1012 BYU 3 Wins/ Utah 7 Wins

    1993 through 2002 BYU 4 Wins/ Utah 6 Wins

    1983 through 1992 BYU 9 Wins/ Utah 1 Win

    1973 through 1982 BYU 9 Wins/ Utah 1 Win

    1963 through 1972 BYU 4 Wins/ Utah 6 Wins

Grand Total for the past 50 years... BYU 29 Wins and Utah 21 Wins...

Now I don't claim to be the world's best mathmatician, But simple arithmatic tells me that 29 is more than 21 and that BYU won 16% more of the contests between the two schools...

If BYU wins this year (and most FBS experts say that that is going to be what happens) then BYU will have won an even 30 out of the last 50 years (or 60 % of the contests).

"Utah has owned BYU"?... Ummm, I don't think so.

When asked how he felt about losing to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats by almost 3 touchdowns, Max replied "I hate them. I hate everything about them. I hate their fans, their program! I hate everything (about them)!"

Apparently Max still has a lot to learn.

I'm no good at math either. What's the percentage of 3 in a row?

    @ go red

So you want to count games played with leather helmets and no face guards??? Back when football wasn't even a sanctioned school sport for BYU simply a "club sport"??? LOL...Well then yes, you owned BYU in Football back then.... LOLOL... Your great and possibly great-great, grandparents would be proud of you for counting their era, the period of time when BYU didn't even have a school built football field...LOL.

    @ekute

Not as much as 9 in a row (1979 through 1987), and not as much as 5 in a row (1972 through 1977), and not even as much as 4 in a row(1989 through 1991)...

  • poyman Lincoln City, OR

    @ekute

I missed the right keys on my computer... I meant to say...

    9 in a row... 1979 through 1987,

    6 in a row... 1972 through 1977, and

    4 in a row... 1989 through 1992...

There, now that I have corrected the type o's I feel much better.

During how many of Utah's "undefeated" seasons was Utah ranked?

It's laughable the hyperbole Utah fans are forced to use when their so-called "accomplishments" turn out to be nothing more than a whole lot of mediocrity. Like one mediocre team beating another mediocre in a bowl, where neither team is good enough to be ranked.

    Bottom line:

Utah only has FIVE AP Top 25 finishes in their entire history. BYU has SEVENTEEN.

Despite your hype, BYU dwarfs U on a national scale - it's not even close.

    Even during the Bronco/Kyle era:

    Top 25 Finishes
    Bronco 5
    Kyle 3

    AP Top 25 Finishes
    Bronco 4
    Kyle 2

    Top 15 Finishes
    Bronco 3
    Kyle 1

Bronco has had almost as many AP Top 25 finishes in the last 7 seasons, as Utah has had in their ENTIRE history.

The truth is, if U were really as good as you think you were, U would have been ranked more often.

    Simple Math

From 1922 to 1993, the number of Utah teams that beat BYU and were good enough to be ranked in the final AP Top 25:

    ZERO

From 1922 to 1993, the number of BYU teams that beat Utah and were good enough to be ranked in the final AP Top 25:

    TEN

During Utah's first CENTURY of football (1892 to 1993), Utah didn't have a single win over BYU that was meaningful enough to be recognized on a national scale.

During BYU's first SEVENTY years of football (1922 to 1993*), BYU had TEN wins over Utah that were meaningful enough to be recognized on a national scale.

    BYU 10/69 > Utah 0/101

Feel free to do the math.

*BYU's football program was suspended from 1942 to 1944.
