I love my Pac 12 membership! You think recruits care about state of
the art facilities?Just as Oregon!Just another reason
Utah has won the recruiting war between Utah, byu, and usu the last several
years. And will continue to do so, with ease. Both head
to head AND average stars its been Utah, Utah, Utah!
I didn't realize you were in the Pac 12, Chris B. Congratulations!
Christopher B, Congrats to your SUC 12 membership. That sure is a fine daycare
center for athletes!! Didn't really see much new high tech stuff that would
really bring them up to standard in that other conference though. How is a video
game room or a theater or place to take a nap or barbershop going to bring these
guys up from the cellar?
No tax dollar was used in this facility. You may want to do a little research
before you sound so bitter. If you want to go there, try the school lunch
program. It is funded by the sale of Alcohol. You know, the one that is so evil
Love skiingyou caught the sarcasm huh? Where in my comments is any
reference to where funding came from? You steer to evils in Utah??? Where you
going with that?
I just wanted to say these are some really nice facilities for the University of
Utah. It must be nice for the players to have a place like this to go.
Love skiingLaughable red herring. The taxing of alcohol (and every
other legal commodity sold in the state) has absolutely NOTHING to do with the
fact that tax dollars are, at the very least, indirectly spent on constructing
and maintaining every building on the U of U campus.Anybody who
claims otherwise is simply blowing smoke.
It’s good to see that Utah now has a $32M facility to help recruit
potential prospects, because their previous records won’t help. Well if
they don’t win games, at least they will look good with their hair cuts,
have a place to watch TV. If this facility doesn't help imporve their
football skills, at lest they can impove a skill in billards.
It's a weak character who can't find it within him / her to
congratulate the accomplishments of another - even if that other person happens
to be your rival team. Congrats to the Utes - looks like a beautiful facility.
It represents the accomplishments of many an athlete who laid the groundwork for
such a solid facility / program. Come on Cougar fans - Lets take the high road.
This is a great thing for the Utes and for the State of Utah.Go
Utes. Go Cougars!
You've gotta love Eccles' classic red sports jacket...that is awesome,
and I'm a BYU fan. Gotta love it :)One thing I thought was
interesting is that the Block U is quite prominent throughout the facility, and
the only place I saw the more traditional drum & feathers U was on things
that are much easier to replace (pillows, stickers above the athlete lockers,
etc.). Meanwhile, for all the more permanent things, you see the new
Block U (on the walls, the floor, the ceiling, heck, even the wallpaper). It
makes you wonder how long the drum & feathers will last...we know that the
administration (was it last year?) recently tried to do away with the drum and
feathers, and there was quite the uproar from the more traditional Ute fans. I have to wonder though if this is a (somewhat) subtle way to get people
used to the new block U and eventually drop the drum and feathers altogether.
Seems to me like the drum and feathers are on the way out (even the most recent
vanity license plates have the new Block U).Either way, that's
a great new facility you have there; congrats :)
"The meeting room is a theatre,” said senior defensive end Trevor
Reilly. “Imagine a mansion house with a theatre room. Every single
position group has a theatre room for a meeting room."All of
those theaters will come in handy during bowl week.
It just keeps getting better for the Utes and their fans. Go Utes! The general population of the state would tell you sour grapers that there are
benefits to what the Utes have accomlished. March on the Capitol so the whole
state can laugh at you.
Positive comments from the true BYU Fans are graciously accepted. Cheers.
Thanks to this new facility, Utah will have a winning record at least once in
the next three years.
Just so everyone knows WSU also has the same type of football facility and yet
they sit at the bottom of the PAC with Utah. Facilities do NOT make a team.
Utah will continue to be the cellar dweller in the PAC and will NOT make the
coveted Rose Bowl. I agree with a previous comment that the new media room will
be great for watching the bowl season in comfort.
Please get off the taxpayer subsidy deal! I have a copy of the University of
Utah budget which is available to the public and you can plainly see that the
$250 million the State of Utah puts into the university from tax dollars is all
consumed by academic pursuits. None of it goes to athletics. The taxpayers of
Utah contribute a mere 8% of the University's $3.2 billion budget. So the
facts don't support your assertion.
@Down UnderJust so you know, Utah has beat WSU two years in a row.
Why do you troll Utah articles and rain on the parade. It really is a sad and
pathetic MO when you think about it.
Down Under..... It's funny because that team that is at the bottom of the
PAC with Washington is a team that your Cougs can't seem to beat!
Love the new digs! Thanks to all the BYU posters with positive
comments. We appreciate the civility and class. Thanks also to the
haters. We appreciate the entertainment and your loving support.Go
Utes!! Onward and Upward!
Jenny83" It's funny because that team that is at the bottom

3-game losing streak (Bronco was 3-2 versus Utah before the streak), while
Washington is a team that Utah has NEVER beaten, 0-8 versus the Huskies
lifetime; BYU is 4-4 all-time versus Washington.Call us when Utah
beats their first PAC team with a winning record.

talent as the bottom of the PAC-12. Considering Bronco has a losing record
against BCS teams thankfully BYU doesn't have to deal with playing a PAC-12
mussingaround:I guess some people really have to bend, stretch and
spin to make a point!3-0 is miniscule? Tell that to Bronco and the
boys! Besides, it is more than 3-0: it is 4-1, 8-3, 13-7, 53-31-4. Two
straight decades of superiority and that will only continue! Utah is beating
byU on the field and in recruiting. Utah beat byU out for first choice of head
coach. And this all was accomplished before our start at improving facilities
and after byU finished."Bronco was 3-2 versus Utah before the
streak"? That makes about as much sense as a Utah fan saying "before
1972 Utah was 41-8-4". Thanks for stopping by on all things
Utah and giving us your support. The fact that you use the mighty Muss as your
moniker displays how important Utah is to you. Again, we appreciate your
love!Go Utes! Onward and Upward!

against Boise State and 0-4 against Iowa State all time! Call us

They Probably should have posted this video before I watched Oregon's!!!
With this new football center and SLC's Trax system what else could be
needed for winning the PAC recruiting war?
mussingaroundPalo Alto, CA"Call us when Utah beats their

because you don't matter. The Utes are in, byu is no where.NatesterCedar Hills, UTIt's a weak character who

To Mormon Ute: You said "Please get off the taxpayer subsidy deal! I have a
copy of the University of Utah budget which is available to the public and you
can plainly see that the $250 million the State of Utah puts into the university
from tax dollars is all consumed by academic pursuits. None of it goes to

Deseret News ("Pac 12 Have-nots to become Haves with TV Deal") and in
the official UU Magazine Continuum ("The Money Game"). You can also
find a list of athletic department subsidies in USA Today, and it is a common
topic in the Chronicle of Higher Education. The new building has
obviously received indirect subsidy at the very least. Now, when those huge
flatscreens are not big enough or have high enough definition, who will
subsidize their replacement? Why should any BCS team in any state be
subsidized when they have billion dollar TV contracts? State legislatures in
every state should make sure that at least half that money goes to education,
and not bigger flat screen TVs.
rhappahannock,I didn't say the University doesn't
subsidize athletics, i said there is no tax money spent on athletics. The
University of Utah gets most of its revenue from sources other than Utah
taxpayers. When you look at the budget for undergraduate academics you can
easily see that uses up all of the taxpayer money. The money used to subsidize
the athlletic budget is from other sources. A friend of mine confirmed this
with the University President.
mussingaround: I didn't know BYU started with Bronco's tenure. I
guess I could point to the past 11 years (8-3) or further back, but that would
