This is the most positive news I have heard about this country in awhile.Time for the liberal media and Hollywood to get in gear with their
propoganda machine and try to influence these numbers in the opposite direction.
It'd be one thing if that's all they wanted to do, but throwing in
regulations that force 36/41 Texas clinics to shut down (or 15/16 North Carolina
clinics, or 14/18 Virginia clinics as these states have recently passed) has
nothing to do with late term abortions but rather encroaching on access to
women's healthcare services.
What are the regulations you are referring to?
@BaneOfHedgehogAs a few examples, in some cases they are setting rules for
building structure details that conveniently most of them don't pass
(Virginia). In other cases they are requiring that doctors at the facilities
have admitting privileges to hospitals (Texas, Virginia, North Carolina, Ohio,
in Ohio they went one step further by also banning hospitals from providing them
Unless America has a serious discussion about the ethical basis for abortion,
this country will never come to consensus on this controversial moral issue.
Neither side really is able to speak the same language and are constantly just
talking passed each other. This is a terrible way to set national policy.
Abortion shouldn't be decided on the basis on simple survey polls.
It astounds me how far left people keep heading on abortion. Soon the norm will
be people supporting infanticide because it liberates women. How
about we focus on birth control instead of abortion. That's what Margaret
Sanger wanted before radicals took over Planned Parenthood.
I counsel about 20 ladies each year in their 20's to 60's who have had
abortions at some point in their lives...I don't care what medical experts
say...of the 100's I have counseled over the past 10 years, every single
one (without exception) asks me to explain how they can cope with the thought
that they ended a life.No # if weeks discussed. No heart beat
discussed. No questions about when the fetus can fill pain, just frightened
youngsters, pregnant and looking for a quick fix only to find later that it
wasn't quick and only fixed one small issue, but allowed other problems to
rage for years...effecting lives in a horrible way!!
I believe the atrocities committed by Dr. Kermit Gosnell became the face of
late-term abortions. I am not surprised by the polling data. Our nation is being
deceived by an administration and a lap-dog press pushing an agenda that governs
against the will of the American people. We should stand up a free men and women
and fight against this evil and no allow this agenda to dominate the airwaves.
One of the provisions of the new Texas law concerning curbing abortion, is to
bring the abortion clinics up to standard of other medical clinics. This causes
most of them to close down. It also requires the doctors who perform abortions
to have an affiliation with a hospital. Texas is leading the way in reducing
infanticide. Our respect for life and for children in general has decreased
since Roe vs Wade. Killing infants from botched abortions has become acceptable
among the abortionists. This has nothing to do with medical health for women
and everything to do with greed and money for the abortion industry.
Way to cherry pick stat Des News. Also from the same poll. 21. Do
you think abortion should be legal in all cases, legal in most cases, illegal in
most cases or illegal in all cases? Tot Rep

How can you possibly defend the abortion mills when you see what Kermit Gosnell
did, atl? This is the product of a permissive society who does not value human
life nor the method by which it is created. You pro-aborts have had your day
and now the chickens are coming home to roost. Roe is going to be struck down
eventually and all in all, women's health will improve.
Showing support by women for banning late-term abortion, is not the same
thing as implying ALL abortions. The fact is MOST woman support the
right to choose...The earlier the better. The morning after
pill being 1st choice.Within the 1st trimester an easy 2nd.This reporter has skewed and implied to push an obvious agenda. That is dis-honest deceptive reporting.Yellow Journalism.Propaganda.
Pro Abortion?NO ONE is Pro abortion. However, there are cases where
an abortion may be a necessity for a girl/ womanHealth of the mother,
rape, Incest, death in utero, child with severe defects(unable to survive live
birth, female child raped.A law enforcing a female in one of these
situations to carry a pregnancy to term, goes against the freedom in America our
forefathers left their homelands to obtain.Again, NO ONE is Pro Abortion.
I'm a fan of small government in both fiscal and ethical areas, but I think
this is fair. If you would like an abortion, choose to get one early in your
pregnancy. That seems fair.
Holier than thou, purer than pure...republicans hide proposed
changes of law into wildly unrelated legislation. The republican
abortion bill in Virginia was part and parcel of a motorcycle bill.republicans conveniently forget their past... republican icon
President Ronald Reagan signed an abortion bill while he was Gov. of California
which led to the murder of over 2,000,000 babies.Yet to this day
"pro-abort" President Reagan is venerated by all things republican."...deceived by an administration...".republicans
lie to get elected...North Carolina Gov. lied to voters about what
he would do if elected."...propoganda machine...".On a daily basis DN readers get a never ending load of pious holier than thou,
purer than pure nonsense from republican lovers.BOTH parties
have/had/will continue to have major issues.Voters are moving away
from BOTH parties."...serious discussion...".When republican lovers tone down the holier than thou, purer than pure
rhetoric, voters might be willing to listen to what republicans are saying.
Just remember the baby has no say in this.
@Coach Biff"How can you possibly defend the abortion mills when you
see what Kermit Gosnell did, atl? "Gosnell committed a crime,
Planned Parenthood did not. Look, I'd rather we keep abortions
to a minimum, but the nation where they're least common is not one where
it's illegal. It's Belgium, a nation that has comprehensive access to
birth control to everyone through universal healthcare. I prefer reducing
abortions by reducing unplanned pregnancies. History shows that when abortion is
banned women will drive to Mexico or some other state if they have the means. If
they don't... they'll do something desperate. Remember that case of a
Utah girl who had paid a guy to beat her up to try and induce a miscarriage a
few years ago? There's decent odds she was scared of Utah's parental
notification requirement. If we ban abortion we'll just see more desperate
cases like that, more Gosnell types, and more women coming out of it with
physical harm or maybe even death. @There You Go Again"The
republican abortion bill in Virginia was part and parcel of a motorcycle
bill."That was North Carolina.
Wow, what an incredibly mis-leading headline. Glad to see though
there are still incredibly intelligent people who know abortion is disgusting
and barbaric when sought for convenience.Societies who kill unborn
children because the pregnancy is inconvenient are depraved and uncivilized.
They will never prosper.
ThornBirdsYou wrote "Health of the mother, rape, Incest, death
in utero, child with severe defects(unable to survive live birth, female child
raped"As usual you trot out the most extreme cases and portray
them as common. If you want to do that, then let's consider the
paedophiles who take their victims to the abortion mills to cover up their
crimes since parents of the victim do have to be informed. We all have
compassion for these extreme cases; however, the great majority of women who
have abortions are pressured by society and are rushed into the decision so the
abortion industry can reap its monetary reward. Follow the money!I know
personally of case where the unborn child died in the womb. The mother could
not bear to have her dead baby cut into pieces to abort it. She had trouble
finding a doctor who would induce labor so her dead baby could be born whole.
This woman is a heroine. Yes there are extreme cases when abortion has to be
considered, but these causes should not be used to excuse the frivolous.
"Health of the mother" "Women's Rights" "Women's
Health Care" What about the rights of the unborn HUMAN baby? What about
the health of the preborn family member? What about the pain of the unborn BABY?
What about the many, many who would love to adopt that baby and give it the
care it deserves?
Definition of abortion includes:Webster's Dictionary2.the
premature termination of pregnancy by spontaneous or induced expulsion of a
nonviable fetus from the uterusDo these laws make it illegal for a
Dr. to induce labor when a baby has died in utero? These laws
should allow exclusions for death, severe deformities of the fetus/baby, health,
life of the mother, rape and incest.
If as Obama as stared the left wants abortions to be safe and to be rare, then why the need for all these clinics?
