Aren't we already paying taxes for infrastructure?

You know! The taxes paid at the pump. Somebody is mismanaging our funds.

The title is a little deceiving. The title mentions infrastructure maintenance, yet the article clearly details the need for capital improvements and new construction that need to be done. Maintenance refers to maintaining existing structures and systems. The bulk of the $20 billion is for upgrades and new construction.

a good project! for students and the U of Utah. worf doesn't get the point. the point being there's work to do, priorities to set, choices to make, and this project does a good job of trying to highlight the needed work for some decision makers. including the taxpayers, who should ante up more if it turns out they're not paying enough to keep up their roads to everywhere. try trax, and try a bike, and try living close to your work . . .

    dave4197:

Do you know how many times money was set aside for infrastructure, and ended up spent somewhere else?

Remember the $900 billion dollar stimulus for infrastructure and job creation? opps! You know, hiring more teachers, policeman, fixing roads & bridges, etc.

    Some people are very gullible.
