We EARNED the good things that are coming as a result of our prestigious BCS
membership. We built a program that has a quickly growing fan base,
we EARNED every win in our 2004 and 2008 seasons, which led to us being worthy
of a Pac 12 invite, and now we deserve to be counted among the best programs in
the nation.Long live the University of Utah Long Live

I hope superconferences DO form. There are approximately 60 deserving
schools.They are in a superconference.If they
aren't in a superconference, it's because they don't deserve to
be.Won't it be great when all there is is superconferences and
division II programs?
5-7 chrissy and no bowl game, mark that down.
Interesting how "Amateur" college sports has become such a money-maker.
And they don't compensate the "amateur" athletes for their efforts
and the health risks inherent in the sports. But we see where all the
money goes: college coaches make a small fortune, as do athletic directors and
college administrators.Something seems out of balance and not right
about the whole thing.

Anyone else feel that Chris B's obsession is unhealthy? I am proud to say
that when I see his post I never read his comments and my bet is that many
others feel the same.
It's great to see that the University of Utah does try and help out the
fans as they set ticket prices. The environment on game day up at RES is
fantastic which makes going to the games a great value and a great way to spend
a few hours. I am hoping that expansion happens soon as I have been attempting
to get season tickets for quite a few years now without success. I'm
looking forward to being able to go up for 2-3 games this year. Can't wait
for the season to startGo Utes!!!
I get a kick out of people who take Chris B and his BYU counterpart Duckhunter
seriously enough to try to debate them.

do not want super conferences actually. Especially if they break away and form
their own D4 or something like that. It would be further exploitation of
athletes not getting paid or compensated while the schools make money off
them.I'm middle aged old school WSU Cougar & Ute. I
don't mind conference expansion (PAC 12). But not at the point of kicking
schools out, even founders of conferences, There is more to conference
affiliation besides football. If conferences decided to kick out
schools to line their pockets, I have no problem leaving D1 behind. Yes I would
follow WSU/UT to D2 or whatever. At least there is some form of playoff on lower
levels. Heck I even enjoyed NAIA football for a time. Just might follow it

bowl rating than BYU did this past season. I would say they have a lot of
potential in the MWC. Already shown they can compete with teams on the road like
Auburn and Wisconsin.
SnacWac:Thanks once again for proving how important Utah football is
in your life. We always enjoy your effort to try to debate Chris B on all

go to the online ticket resellers and get your $2 tickets for the byU home game
against Middle Tennessee State, or your $2.88 tickets for the byU home game
against Idaho State. For less than $5, you can get tickets for one-third of the
byU home games. Throw in the Ga Tech game and you can see one half of the byU
home games for $13.88 total. Yipee!!Go Utes!! Love the trollers.

Yipee!!Seriously?? I know byu was challenged the last two years to
sell even 90% of their tickets but this has to be a new low. When fans begin to
realize what Holmoe has on the schedule for next year, LES will be dust bowl.
To bad the Utes can't schedule Idaho state, Idaho, San Jose State (oops -
never mind), etc... Record does not tell the complete story. And it won't
again this year - per Phil steele the Utes are playing the 12 toughest schedule
in the country this year. While Byu's is in the 40's... But if byu
goes 8-4 and Utah 6-6 you will think byu is the better team. Again, record does
not tell the complete story.
"you can go to the online ticket resellers and get your $2 tickets for the

all know that Utah has struggled against at least two of these teams recently.

Fact: Utah was 9th out of 12 schools.
I'll bet we earn at least like three time that. $28M at least.
Stadium Journey magazine recently released a ranking of all 124 FBS stadiums in
the country and the experience one has at a game based on the criteria of food
and beverage, atmosphere, neighborhood, fans, access, return on investment, and
"extras." RES was ranked pretty solidly at #53 in the nation, rating
highly in atmosphere, neighborhood and fans, and rating in the middle in all
other areas. Personally, I think the food deserved a higher rating because the
review doesn't take into account all the great vendors along the south side
of the stadium.BYU was ranked at 59 and USU at 60 as well, so it
really is nice to have a great gameday experience at any of the FBS schools in
the state without breaking the bank.
Wow, DN being very sensitive today. Tilka, please learn the meaning of the word
significantly and its context in the article. Arizona's average was 47,931,
and Colorado's was 45,373 to Utah's 45,347. Do you consider those
Funny to see so many Y fans on here who just can't mentally handle Ute
success. Great time to be a Ute. I have greatly enjoyed taking my
kids to our season ticket seats at Rice Eccles over the past years. For me, of
course I enjoy seeing the Utes win, but going to the games is more about making
great memories with my family than what happens on the field. The Utes'
great success on the field has just been icing on the cake.
Go Utes,Great success on the field? Really? Did you happen to notice
that Utah is in the cellar of the PAC 11+u? You call that success?
Ute buster, one undesired result of a season does little to tarnish a decade of
success. Yes, the Utes have been successful in the last decade. That was far
from the point of Go Utes', however, but I wouldn't imagine you
understand, nor would Chris B on a similar BYU post.
Ute Buster is right. It's like putting lipstick on a pig.
STGtoSLC,What success are you speaking of? Two terrible seasons in the
PAC11+u? That is not how I spell success. I spell success by being invited to
a bowl game and having a winning record.
What is left out is that before 2011 the U of U had a significant price hike to
coincide with the first year of PAC 12 football life. It is tough to turn around
raise prices every year after that. The Utes were wise to freeze prices for a

The author act as if the UofU let's students sit in those 6,000 seats for
free... Not hardly, ~32,000 students pay athletic fees for those "free"
6,000 seats... Those are actually some of the more profitable seats in the
stadium if you look at the math that way.In 2012 the UofU Athletic
department received a hair over $6M in student fees, students get "fee"
seats to Football, Basketball, Gymnastics and all other UofU sports, but I think
it is fair to say that the football seats are the most valuable... Let's
just apply 1/2 the fees ($3M) to the seats; 7 games x 6,000 seats = 42,000
tickets... that is ~$71 a student ticket, not a bad deal at all for the UofU
Athletic Department. If you are student that goes to a lot of games
the student fee equates to some cheap tickets, if you are a student that never
or rarely goes to game then you are subsidizing you classmates that do go.
@snackpac -Just curious why you continue to make the same post in
response to Chris B on every U article regardless of the topic. What does the
record the past couple of season have to do with the U selling out every game
and not gouging the fans by raising prices?
Cougar fans are quick to point out their football attendance being higher than
those on the hill, however,no mention is ever made that BYU has twice the
student population... thus higher attendance figures for the stadium in Provo.
Wondering what ticket sales will look like after Utah loses to BYU this year,
goes 4-8, no bowl game? Too bad the coaches, administrators,
students, and fans of the little school up on the hill don't have the moxy
to play BYU every year. Sad thing is, even Utah State has the moxy to play BYU
every year. What does that say about that little school up on the hill? Go Cougars!
When I was growing up most all of the guys I ran around with had muscle cars.
Most just had nice paint and wheels, very few had much muscle under the hood.
The Utes got a real nice paint job a few years ago by the PAC12, but all the big
shot talk in the world won't change the fact that your engine needs an
overhaul. Forget about BYU and worry about Utah because your athletic program is
