A far bigger coupon story would be Ebay's new limit on selling coupons.
In my experience, the heyday of couponing peaked some months ago. I’ve
been an avid coupon user for years, before the author discovered couponing.
Coupons enable me to send many much needed items in care packages to our troops
serving in the Middle East wars. Yes, I often got free toothpaste, toothbrushes,
body wash, free whatever. My self-imposed net cost limit was 25 cents per item.
Now it is up to $1. The bargains are not as available. I use coupons in
combination with store sales and rebate programs available at many of the drug
stores, and they simply are not as good as they used to be. Nevertheless I will
continue to buy with coupons to support our troops now in Afghanistan until they
all come home. Coupons definitely help, but not as much as years ago. Totally
agree that items purchased with coupons should be shared with others if not
needed by the household. Wouldn’t spend $6 to learn how to use coupons
I have a four year supply of toothpaste from when I did couponing a few years
ago. I stopped when it turned out I wasn't going thru the stuff I stocked
up on before it expired.
