I hate the term "Disrespected". Respect is earned. Disrespect is usually
earned as well.Just how respectable can a person be who shoots people in
church because he had his feelings hurt?Merlin Olson played the part
of an Amish farmer in a modern California farming community (Aaron's Way).
He chastised a teen for doing something wrong and the teen fired back;
"Don't send me on no guilt trip."Merlin's answer
was a classic; "That's how you are supposed to feel when you do
something wrong."And so it is.
That's a new low on the defense strategy pole----"I was disrespected
and hypnotized."Unbelievable, especially that some attorney
would actually use that excuse. If it were me, I'd have to wait a while to
stop laughing, then I'd say "Get serious...dude...!"
My father, a clinical psychologist once said to a news crew wondering if the man
who shot up a video rental store where he used to work, might be justified in
the shooting because he didn't have the 'perfect' childhood. My
father responded simply: 'my children will tell you their childhood
wasn't perfect, but that doesn't give anyone the right to shoot
someone.'I'm sorry when people have it rough. Its too bad
that not everyone is loved an pampered. But who we are is something that we can
determine. I can choose how I respond to the obstacles that life throws at me
and some of them have been pretty sharp and not very pretty. The poet once
framed this 'Two men looked out through the self same bars, one saw the
mud, the other the stars.' We need to look up and step up and
help others up as well.
"you got a lota splaning to do Ricky" I don't understand why he
would even be considered as a candidate for any amount of bail!
Where you are going now you will meet a new set of people. with any luck we will
get the respect you deserve there.
