Absolutely loved this report! Great interviews with media and players, great highlights, realistic assessments. Can't wait for Virginia.

No one does "hype" like byu fans!

And why not, the last time you guys did a "quest for perfection" it worked out perfectly!

Let me admit up front, I only post on these BYU stories because I am dying for college football to start, and it is helps the time go by to banter (not bash) a bit.

That said, I think BYU will beat Boise State this year and sort of mark the end of Boise's run of dominance. I also expect them to beat Virginia. If Hill stays healthy, I think they will end up beating at least one of their marque games (Texas, ND, Wisconsin)on top other expected wins. However, I will be surprised if Hill stays healthy.

How are fans feeling about the up tempo thing? The skill positions seem ready, but can the line keep up for 4 quarters? Is there that much depth?

I'm not interested in past stats or any anti Utah responses. Just some insight from fans.

P.S. I am going to need medication to get through the Rivalry game this year. It will be insanely intense!

Thanks for keeping it about football Dnquixoti. I'm really not buying the concern about Hill staying healthy. I think he's a lot tougher than people give him credit for and the knee is not really a problem in my eyes. I did see the play and saw him get up favoring it but hoped it was okay as he tried to shake it off. Thanks for the favorable predictions. I'd be happy if you were right. I also see the line as the big question mark with the faster pace offense. Actually, no matter what offense they run, that's the question. The JC guys coming in will be key. It's the great mystery right now and I hope every day they're better than expected. I'd like to think our defense will also be able to keep up with being on the field more but who knows? I also feel pretty good about the skill positions.

cb - What are U talking about? If U are going to comment, can you at least read the article or in this case watch the video, so you can be objective.

    1. There were no fans involved in the report.
    2. And there was no hype in this report. If U think there was, tell me one thing that was hype. This report was very conservative, even pessimistic at times.

I look forward to seeing KSL's report on the U.

Do you understand football at all?

Do you understand sports and fans, and media, and...

so you even understand the definition of hype?

    Try this...

Fans root for their team. they get all excited that this might be a special year. It isn't hype it is being a fan.

Haters just hate, regardless of the article, regardless of the facts, and regardless of the situation.

Sept is going to be a rough month for you. All that pent up aggression without any outlet.

BYU will be able to sit on a win for two years where every time you post, I will just say...

I was in Provo for the 54-10 destruction. It was priceless.

I can't wait for our seniors to finish the 4-0 sweep this year.

I wonder what it's like to go your entire career and never beat your rival?

Soon you'll be able to ask Van Noy and Hoffman!

"I can't wait for our seniors to finish the 4-0 sweep this year."

Get used to disappointment; the Ute's loss to BYU will continue Utah's slide into Coloradoesque obscurity... the pillow fight in the rockies will be epic this year.

"I wonder what it's like to go your entire career and never beat your rival?"

Keep wondering. You'll have three years to think about it.

The nice thing about college football is that it always changes. New streaks start all the time.

For the cyclical nature of college football simply look back over the last 10 or so years...

u are right back where you started, no respect, no relevancy, no bowls, few wins.

What's funny is that you can't see it. u'r so invested in "owning BYU" that you don't see that nearly everyone else in your conference (that you are so proud of)...

    owns you.

Don't worry. A BYU win may help you change since you won't have much to say after September. You'll have to find something else to do.

    Chris B said, to @STFUo,

"I'll be here to remind you of the 4-0 perfect sweep every day all football season!"

And I will be here to remind you that you will not post on any BYU article with any and all of your monikers FOR ONE ENTIRE YEAR!

Since you are so confident Crissy, why don't you expand your pledge to not posting until BYU and Utah plays next time, hummmmm?

Are you going to accept or is your confidence in your Utes shaken?

    Not worried.

    Bring it on.

I go months without even being able to read BYU comment boards so, I don't really care what you do.

"I was in Provo for the 54-10 destruction."

    Big deal.

I was there for every BYU utah game from 1981 to 1989 when the score was BYU 70 utah 31 and BYU was 8-1 against their rivals.

IT MEANS NOTHING. Nor does this paltry 3-1 in last four. It all changes.

I was there at the massive beat down at ASU and for your bowl game against Boise.

    Those were priceless.

    Chris B,

Really BYU is the only school in America that Hypes itself or has fans that Hype the school they follow? How about all the BCS and Pac-12 garbage you spew on a daily basis on these boards? How is that Quest for a winning record in your new conference going for you? How is that Quest for a conference title and trip to the Rose Bowl going? Why are you so frantic and emotional about a school you have left in the dust behind you? Move onward and upward away from the Dnews boards!!!

    Go Cougs!!!
    Go Utes!!!

I too was at the ASU beat down of Utah. I laughed the entire game as ASU owned Utah time, and time, and time again. I'm a BYU fan, but I'm a season ticket holder for ASU (hope we get BYU sooner rather than later). I will be there every year that ASU owns Utah which should be several decades into the future.

    Go Cougs!
    Go Devils!
