Panel chief has ties to indicted businessman Johnson
This remains a politically motivated with hunt, driven by a couple of convicted
(or at least indicted) felons, of allegations that are already being
investigated by appropriate level agencies. This is a total waste of
Utah tax dollars to run a parallel investigation. We should have just waited
until the federal investigation finished and then proceed with impeachment if he
is guilty, or exonerate the poor man who will be bankrupted by legal expenses
regardless.Politics is a messy dirty business, and with stuff like
this, we wonder why the very best people do not want to get involved?
I agree, this witch hunt is just a smoke screen for democrats and news media to
incriminate Swallow with other federal investigations also in process at the
same time. Why the governor broke down under cowardly oppression by the democrat
Party is beyond his responsible leadership, especially while several other
federal agency's have not been able to verify or prove and wrong doing by
Swallow. Was this special session a smoke screen to pass and change
the laws legislators had voted on during their regular sessions? It definitely
won't make a difference in unethical government behavior, the legislators
have voted down all attempts for honest and ethical government standards.
Swallow has not violated any ethics law or legislative standards and the several
federal investigations have stalled and pointless so its not likely that the
democrats will find anything to substantiate their accusations either. The witch hunt panel is also backfiring because of the conflicts within the
group selected who have vested interest in this panels outcome and democrats
attempt to associate Swallow with other democrats under investigation.Regardless of this and other investigations, our elected legislative assembly
will have the final authority over democratic criminal lies.
If this is a witch hunt, the Governor has already issued his statement on John
Swallow. I am sure that is after having heated discussions with the man elected
as our Attorney General. The Legislature and House of Representatives have a
job to do, even though it hasn't been spelled out before. The hard task is
to deal with the Attorney General who appears to be using his Attorney General
staff with state funds to defend him on issues that appear to have been out of
the scope of his job as the Chief Deputy Attorney General under Mark Shurtleff.
You don't hear too much from the previous Attorney General on his
activities with John Swallow. Mark Shurtleff certainly is a man of many words
in so many of his political activities over the decades. To be silent about his
and his Chief Deputy Attorney General is a change of process for him. He had
six months from the GOP convention to the election to show his questioning of
his Chief Deputy but support him up to the election day when people in droves
voted for John Swallow.Utah need to have this investigation by the
Mr. Swallow, please do the right thing and just resign. Let the people of Utah
have a functioning Attorney General while this plays out.
Will we be able to find 9 honest legislators for the investigative committee?
So far we don't know.
