Mark it down, usu will be the only one to win 10 thus year in Utah. And it
won't be easy.
I don't think any of the in-state teams this year will reach ten wins. It
would be cool if they did though.
BYU will get humbled a bit this year due to a tougher schedule but will still
make it to a bowl due to the remaining patsies on their schedule.Utah will most likely miss a bowl game or slide into one at 6-6. It's
just a tall order right now when they have one of the toughest schedules in the
country while fielding a team that's still building it's Pac 12 depth
and having to fill a lot of holes.USU fans are going to be
disappointed after having such a great year last year. Losses to Utah, BYU and
Boise St will already have them below 10 wins. Count on more losses than that
now that they're in a deeper conference. We should all support
our teams like crazy, but if you want to follow a team that will make some
national noise you should look outside the state this year.
BYU has the best chance to get to 10 wins, but with their tough schedule they
won't get there. Losses to Texas, Wisconsin, Notre Dame and possibly Boise
State will prevent them from getting to 10 wins.Utah State won't get
to 10 wins unless they win at least one of these three games- Boise, BYU or
utah.utah has no shot at 10 wins. They have an outside chance at 6 or 7
wins. Possible and/or probable losses to BYU, Oregon, Stanford, USC, UCLA,
Arizona State, Arizona, Oregon State and possibly Utah State will hurt them.
Heck, they've had a hard time beating colorado the past two years. My
prediction: BYU 8-4, Utah State 8-4, utah 5-7
@BYU>UtahI mostly agree with your predictions, with a few
caveats. You are spot on with BYU. As for Utah State, I think they
need to win 2 of these 3 games to have a shot at a 10-win season: Utah, Boise,
BYU. And I'm worried about USC, too.And while I understand the
down attitude about Utah, to be totally fair to the Utes, they were in all but 2
of their games last season. I think they can improve. I wouldn't be
surprised to see them back in a bowl game.
I agree with Sambone, I would include USC in the group of tough games, even in a
down year. @Motorbike,WAC was higher ranked this last
year than the MWC was. MWC is no deeper. They will play 2 good teams, Boise
and either SJSU or Air forece, one average team in SJSU or Air force, and a whole
bunch of lower quality teams. I think they will beat BYU in Logan,
and take one of the other three, probably the Boise St game (home field) or a
surprise against USC. Utah will be out for revenge and I think USU will
probably lose to them. If they play to their potential, I think USU
will be 10-2. If they don't it will be 8-4 or 7-5.
@TallNSkinnyYou are right about somethings. I guess every dog has
his day. Utah will not lose. You are wrong however about BYU. They will beat
you again. BSU will win. USC will destroy you. And I'm confused. Is it
Air Force or Air Forece?
In order for the Cougars to win ten games they will have to have some pure luck.
For the Aggies, they will have to play even better than last year...I'm
not sure I see that happening. For the Utes to win ten games...they
will have to sneak back into the MWC, and hope no one notices!Good
luck to all the Locals.
Then how can you take any of your fellow aggies predictions with any credibility
AgVikBronc? USC is a different calibar. Do you dispute that? Utah will not be
caught of gaurd this year. Do you dispute that? BYU is just better. Do you
dispute that? And what about Boise State? They are the top of the WAC 2.0 and
in my recent memory USU hasn't beaten them. And most important, Andersen
is gone. So who do you want to believe, your fellow aggies who don't know
what they are talking about, or the person who is presenting real facts?
@motorbikeHere we go again... Who are all the patsies that BYU is
playing besides Utah and maybe ISU?Is it Virginia (who is rated as
having the toughest schedule in the land) or Georgia Tech (who won their
division of the ACC last year)?Perhaps it's Nevada with 7
straight years of bowl games and a bowl victory over AZ last year (BTW, how did
Utah do against AZ at home last year??? LOL), or maybe it's Middle
Tennessee who is suppose to win the C-USA this year and was 8-3 last year)?Perhaps it is USU who beat the Utes last year and lost only 2 games all
year (7 points from going undefeated)? or perhaps it's Houston who went
12-1 a couple of years ago with wins over UCLA and Penn State (before Penn
State's issues blew up).I'm guessing that you aren't
refering to Texas, Wisconsin, ND or Boise State in your list of patsies... But I
could be wrong...So tell us... Who are the Patsies again?BTW, the experts have Utah winning 3 games next year (and no, BYU is not one
of them)... a 6-6 season? That's rich.
@motorbikemanI'm starting to get into this, so let me keep
going with a couple of facts:According to Marc Lawrences Playbook
for 2013, Utah is rated to have the 20th most difficult schedule in the land...
Virginia, Houston, Boise Stae, and Nevada are all rated with tougher
schedules(and all are BYU opponents this year)... Another
interesting note on schedules... BYU is in the middle of the pack with the 55th
most difficult schedule... However, UCLA, Oregon, Washington State, and Arizona
State are picked to have schedules that are in the bottom third as far as
"difficulty" goes. You can add Arizona and USC to the other 5 and the
Big Bad PAC12 have 7 of the least difficult FBS Schedules in 2013 according to
Lawrence... (Two things these 7 schools have in common is that they all play
Utah this year and all 7 are rated with schedules less difficult than BYU)...One could logically argue from this information that BYU's strength
of schedule is actually hurt by having a 2013 game with Utah on it while
Utah's strength of Schedule is enhanced by having BYU on it... It kind of
makes me chuckle a little.
My bad... I have to correct my last post, the Big Bad PAC12 only has teams with
Dificulty of Schedules rated in the Bottom Half of the FBS Schedule Difficulty
Rankings (not 7 as previously reported)... Or their is only 6 teams in the PAC12
with easier schedules than BYU...Oh and Middle Tennessee was
actually 8-4 last year, not 8-3... They did have a victory over ACC Divisional
Champion Georgia Tech however...
Hard to win ten games if they're playing each other.
