Quick thoughts on the "weeds" issue-1. Blame all weeds on women.
After all it was Eve who created the problem in the first place ;)2.
There have been some fantastic advancements in decomposable row covers to
eliminate a lot of weeding. 3. I have had some success aligning /
staging plants that require cooler temps like peas, beans, cilantro, etc. next
to taller plants so, that they get good morning sun but, not the hotter
afternoon sun. Using this technique in conjunction with mulches/row covers and
drip irrigation, some success can be had even in periods of extreme heat.
I'm wondering if drip irrigation means you have to punch a little hole in
an irrigation line, meaning the drip irrigation will always only water that
small area right next to where the hole is. Meaning that you have to plant year
after year in that same exact little spot. If so, I wonder what that does to
soil fertility in that one spot. I wonder if plants grown in that exact spot
would be less and less healthy every year as the soil gets less and less
fertile. I wonder if the produce would have less and less nutritional quality
year after year of being grown in that exact same spot.
