I wish KVN and BYU the best this year! As any team member will tell you, and
I'm sure KVN is one of them, great play by one person depends on teammates.
Last year part of KVN's success may have been due to other teams often
double-teaming Ziggie. If KVN can have as good a year as last year or better, it
will certainly be very impressive. Last year, five of BYU's opponents
finished in the top 25 and this year looks like it will be even tougher!
I wonder if van noy will be proud of his 0-4 record against Utah Never beat your rival, how embarrassing. Go utes!!
I truly hope Van Noy can produce again this year. He is an absolute stud and
even if we lose to Utah again (cringe) he will still be a first round pick in
the draft as most experts are already predicting. 2 years straight with a first
round draft pick is pretty awesome and shows that BYU is on the right track. Go
The more seasons go by, the more obvious it seems that Utah cares more about
beating BYU than by actually getting a winning season. This is evidenced by Utah
trolls and that infamous survey that was done. Utah plays very hard against BYU,
but ends up losing to bad teams.Kyle Van Noy will have a great
Heiseman. lol.Double digit wins. lol.Go Utes.
Have never made a negative post regarding Van Noy and not going to break the
trend here. He is a very dynamic player that seems to make a key play in most
every game. Other than the game on September 21 I hope he has another big
year. Was a bit surprised he didn't turn pro last year. Similar
situation to Star last year in that it will be a challenge to put up bigger
numbers in his senior season compared to his junior season as teams adjust game
plans in an attempt to neutralize his skills.
As always, the BYU haters flock to these articles even when their name is not
called. It is like flies at a picnic. I guess that the big reason why they feel
they have to come over here is because nothing newsworthy in their camp has
happened since they beat BYU. I have no problems with you cheering for the Utes,
but keep it at that. Do not feel like you need to validate yourselves by coming
constantly over onto the BYU articles.Go BYU Cougars!
KVN/Hoff want 0-4 against UTAH:Hope to hear back from you and your
cronies the evening of 9/21 to congratulate The Mighty Cougars. You can only
hope for a utah win on that day, because my crystal ball says this year is going
to be a major disappointment for you boys. The bottom of the barrel in the pac
11.1 is getting to be the norm.
Those predicting Van Noy will be 0-4 against Utah also are among those who said
the Utes would play in the Rose Bowl their first year in the conference. I
wonder why they aren't spouting that prediction any more, especially after
the way the Utes ran Colorado off the field in SLC (insert laughter here) the
first year in PAC 12 play.
BYU's defense will still be good, but I don't think it'll be as
good as last year. It'll still be a top 20 defense just not top 10.
I'm hoping with Anae back that the offense kicks into high gear because
ultimately what wins football games is points. Defense most of the time
can't produce points enough to win, so here's hoping that BYU can show
a glimmer of what they were even just 5 years ago on offense. If they do,
it'll be a good season.
Geez most byu fans more concerned about commenting on UTAH UTES than to utter
even a single word on subject of article--KVN!KVN is solid, this is
irrefutible. However, my comment is directed at these utterly ridiculous
delusions within these articles. For instance, SCAR had #23 Ranked
SOS. SCAR actually beats good teams, 1 Top 10 & 4 Top 30. SCAR finished
11-2. Where is it even remotely valid to compare the 2? Again, I respect KVN,
but he's equally caught-up in enduring these utterly bizzare fantasies.Like that hysterical article stating it's possible 10 go early in
NFL Draft next year or something for byu, when byu just had their 1st and only
DP since Pitta in '10, neither of which were bm recruits, to boot! LOLNo way possible KVN gets on seriously with Heisman talk, particularly in
how byu doesn't beat good teams [excepting usu barely by 3-PTS at home],
still weeks-off built into schedule, plus 2 bye-weeks, indy not named ND and byu
returns just 4 starters on D. & O straight stinks!He'll
produce, but not at same level as last year. Most of his supporting-cast long
since as it turns out, past performance IS apparently an indication of future
results, then I guess we should all prepare to be disappointed in September, and
then entertained as BYU and Utah State represent the state of Utah in the post
season, while the Utes continue to be the best team sitting on the couch in
toosmartforyou--"....especially after the way the Utes ran
Colorado off the field in SLC (insert laughter here) the first year in PAC 12
play."Wasn't that during the same season we annihilated byu
on their homefield, 54-10?Just checking! Thanks in advance!
"To put that in perspective, South Carolina's Jadeveon Clowney also had
13 sacks as well as 23.5 tackles for loss and he was a consensus All-American
defensive end."The disparity between SCAR's resume &
byu's is the size of The Grand Canyon, beginning with SOS, actually beating
good teams, not just 1-YR wonder usu at home by 3-PTS, barely, etc., etc., etc.,
Would anything else be expected out of 2nd-Rate commentator on 2nd-Rate network
byu-homer, Dennis Dodd? Not stating what he did, in the typically self-deluded,
Heavens are shaking, byu-like fantasizing, is what would have actually been
He's going to absolutely dominate.
What I love about KVN is that even the Utes are coming out in force gobbling up
his articles and leaving their comments. Some of them on all BYU articles.
Although their comments are not positive, they certainly are Fully Invested into
the BYU program.
AZute, yes, you are correct. BYU had a bad quarterback that single-handedly
gave Utah the game. Just look at the Utes first TD and the rest is history.
But you forget that Utah had a greased schedule in the PAC 12 and Colorado was
the worst road team in the nation. Utah had Norm Chow as OC and a secured trip
to the PAC 12 Championship game IF....they could defeat Colorado in SLC. They
laid an egg, sort of like when they lost to UNLV 27 - 0 and Whittingham said he
didn't know why they lost! You might as well have beat BYU 500-10 the way
you guys crow about it; that and your two BCS wins that no one remembers except
your fans. Just who did you beat besides Alabama? I forget, as it was so long
ago and not relevant any more. Was the game somewhere in Arizona or am I
forgetful and mixed up on that point, too? Thanks for helping my memory of Ute
toosmartforyou--"AZute, yes, you are correct. BYU had a bad
quarterback that single-handedly gave Utah the game."I
didn't bother to read further, as it's 100% predictable! The
invalid-excuses flowing, per usual!FYI--UTAH forced 4 of the 7 TOs!
Don't believe me? There's a video on YouTube exclusively covering
only the 7 TOs!UTAH won by 44-PTS, not merely 7-10, and did so on
their homefield, no less! What happened against CU in no way mitigates this
complete massacre for byu, nothing does! One has nothing to do with the other,
purely a tactic employed down there in utah county in an attempt to distract
from/cope with UTAH's complete ownership of byu!
U of U combined basketball and football records from the past two seasons:
34-53... and still talking trash.
Gotta love the trolls that infer that individual defensive accomplishments have
a direct correlation to beating elite teams. Hate to break it to you, but what
KVN accomplished playing against elite competition (five ranked teams) is
impressive any way you look at it. He drew more double teams than Ziggy (Ziggy
was relatively unknown until after the season) and still filled the stat sheet.
He also single handedly beat a good bowl team, and is now on Phil Steele's
first team preseason all-american team. I agree that he'll get even more
attention this year and his statistics will likely dip a little, but he'll
be a game changer.
AZUTE:You absolutely can't say anything nice or positive about BYU
can you? Regardless of the fact that BYU has had successes, been national
champs, had heisman trophy winners, Doak walker, Davey o Brien etc, etc...all
you can do is spin using SOS and any other excuse you can find. There's a
term for that...troll. I have given Utah props on many occasions when their
accomplishments have warranted it. That's called thinking objectively, you
might want to try it sometime if you desire any credibility. That said, thanks
again for showing your unabashed obsession with all things BYU, and irrevocably
proving what most BYU fans already know...beating BYU is more important to the
utes than anything else they can accomplish.
toosmartforyou--"AZute, yes, you are correct. BYU had a bad
quarterback that single-handedly gave Utah the game."My cue to
discontinue reading. Spin/Excuses galore!4 of 7 TOs were forced by
UTAH. This is unequivocal! We won by 44-PTS, not 7 or less as with ultra-rare
byu win.Referencing CU 2011 is 100% irrelevant. It in no way
mitigates UTAH straight annihilating byu on their homefield, but rather serves
merely as a tactic employed by byu fan as a distraction from/coping mechanism
for UTAH's utter dominance of byu!Zero BCS Bowl Games, zero
deep-runs in The Tourney, save Ainge 30+ years ago. National leader in Tourney
appearances without ever reaching The Final Four!byu is the
poster-child for playing weak-sauce schedules & getting utterly owned by
their rival in the king of all sports, football, never beating a good team, save
usu barely by 3-PTS at home and utter post-season futility across-the-board!6-5 in bowl games during this current BCS Era, whereas UTAH's 10-1,
with multiple blowouts of byu, 2 undefeated seasons, BCS x 2, Top-4/-2
Final-Rankings, instate-recruiting dominance, etc., etc., etc., etc.!
My favorite comments to read are utes bashing BYU in the many ways they do. Any
negative comment made about BYU from a ute just puts utah deeper in the cellar.
PLEASE continue to disparage BYU, most likely you're one of the thousands
of ute fans that have only been a "fan" of the red for 10 years. I was
attending utah when urban arrived and when he left. I actually thought it was
great that the football team was having such success. But I will never forget
how the athletic department had to GIVE AWAY 10-12 thousand tickets to fill the
stadium at urbans request. BYU has accomplished a lot, been doing it for four
decades, has more all americans, national college individual award winners,
college hall of famers, superbowl winners, NFL hall of famers, and a national
championship. utah does and will forever own the rivalry series. The culture
on the hill since those games began has been and always will be, beat BYU,
it's the only game that really matters. And that attitude has proven
results. They get up for that game like no other. Don't get me wrong, I
wish BYU had that mentality.
No inference made, but rather fact stated!Nobody claims KVN
isn't capable of excelling against a #23 SOS, such as the one SCAR played
against in 2012, but the fact remains, he didn't do so and he won't
ever get the opportunity to prove it on this level! And SDSU was barely decent,
hardly worthy of any hype! LOLLook at the kids who win The Heisman
Trophy and virtually always one will see him attached to a highly-successful
team! This is fact, whether one accepts/denies it!In conclusion,
nobody claims KVN isn't elite, but this article is clearly not based in
reality! Just simply par for the course!
cougsndawgs--"....beating BYU is more important to the utes than
anything else they can accomplish."You can't get enough of
Yours Truly! I absolutely love it!This is a commonplace-myth
generated by byu fan which is purely wishful-thinking, nothing more. We respond
to byu fans, correct their endless mistakes and when they attempt in vain to
point their collective-finger at us, in an effort to "prove"
they're somehow better, we effortlessly remind them of our complete
dominance of them on the field-of-play and their auto-response to it is to
erroneously conclude this palpable falsity of yours that beating byu is more
important to us than all else! Logic 101!
Re; AZUTE1You know, you have commmented six times in a total of 23
posts (at this time, there will be more). You have made more than 25%
of the total comments. And you think BYU fans are obsessed?
"Van Noy's stat sheet practically screams for national attention. He
tallied 13 sacks, 22 tackles for loss, six forced fumbles, two interceptions and
two blocked kicks last season....To put that in perspective, South
Carolina's Jadeveon Clowney also had 13 sacks as well as 23.5 tackles for
loss and he was a consensus All-American defensive end." -- Lafe PeavlerBut to put that in even MORE perspective, Clowney played in the SEC
before facing off vs. Michigan in the postseason. Van Noy played WAC football
before facing off vs. the team Brady Hoke left to coach at Michigan. Even with
the toughest schedule the Band of Bunglers will have ever faced in the HISTORY
of their program, it will STILL have been a weaker SOS than what So. Carolina

during the same timeframe? 2-5!Bottom finders? How about Tulsa, San Jose
state, Nevada and Utah state! In the end you would love if Kyle would

Side note: who was the last team to beat Alabama in a bowl game?Who

the largest point margin of victory in the entire series. Who owns it? BYU
(Ask Jimmy Mac about scoreboard in that game!)So continue to trot

Re AZUTE1 You make fun of us for beating one-year-wonder USU by 3? Well,
if I recall correctly, which I do. Utah lost to them. Weird... And Utah ended

for the holidays. Keep on banging your chest :)
@AZUTE1How many of KVN's tackles over the last two seasons have
been solo, unassisted tackles? How many other players are as versatile as
KVN, as evidenced in the statistical categories of defense? How many
defensive players have won the Heisman?Yeah, it's extremely
unlikely that KVN will win the Heisman. That's obvious. He would have to
put up numbers not "based in reality" to even be considered for the
Heisman. Defensive players just don't do it! Charles Woodson was the only
(solely) defensive player to ever win the Heisman! This discussion of KVN for
Heisman is just wishful thinking, which I agree is not "based in
reality." The Butkus award is a much more S.M.A.R.T. goal for KVN. The guy
is a monster, regardless of the competition he faces, or if his tackles are
assisted or not. Nobody will have a more consistent impact on the Cougar defense
for a long time. Ogletree was consistent for sure, but KVN just has the wow
factor. I'm sure being drafted in the first round will be
consolation for either 0-4/1-3 against the Utes--He's got his priorities
Also- what is with Utah fan's obsession with insulting Bronco? It's
really just petty and immature imo...Bronco is a terrific head coach. Sure, he
struggles against good teams. Struggles is probably (definitely) an
understatement. But to call him "Donko" and "Roscoe" is just
uncalled for. He is a man of extreme integrity. What has he ever done to the
Utes to warrant this treatment? Besides sustaining the Ute trolls by having a
losing record against the Utes.......if anything, you should be thankful for
Bronco. Give him the respect he deserves. He's not the kind of guy to put
logos in the urinals unlike another coach I know of.......but I still treat that
coach with respect..Just food for thought.Go Cougs!

correlation with Heisman winners. However, there is precedent for
“contenders” (especially defensive contenders) that suggest KVN
could still be in the discussion. 2009 Ndamukong Suh, Nebraska

trash team up North just loves to talk trash here and on BYU sports boards. Try
getting a winning record, first, please!
By losing conference games, the utes have helped other pac 12 teams become bowl

one. BYU won in 2012 (6-3), 2011 (27-24), 2009 (35-17), 2008 in Logan (34-14),
2006 (38-0), 2002 in Logan (35-34). Utah State won in 2010 (16-31) Pretty easy,
eh?"LOL....Nice try! You conveniently truncated the statement
of yours I quoted/directly responded to. I'll quote you again--"Since 1975 BYU is 10-3 versus USU in Logan."Again, how
does what happened nearly 4 decades ago relate to what's happening these
days?Then you listed games PRE-dating usu's 2010 whooping of
byu in Logan. Please explain how they're relevant to 2013, in Logan,
particularly those played in provo? How do you figure this gives byu any
advantage, whatsoever? Hysterical!

both 3-PT struggles for byu, in provo, the 1st of which usu dominated byu,
virtually from start-to-finish, before a miraculous, improbable comeback by byu
in the game's final minutes. The second of which could've just as
easily gone in usu's favor. Both of which took place in provo. If byu is barely escaping usu in front of 50K of their own fans, in fact
getting lucky to do so, just imagine how it's going to be playing a usu
team in Logan which returns virtually all of their key-starters!As
all of my comments are, this comment of mine is equally 100% Spin-Free! I
invite you to join me for the 1st time!
Cougsndawgs"Wiscougarfan:Re AZUTE: Lmbo...very nicely
done. I too was wondering where the "stay current" business came from.
Your post concerning USU must have been confusing by stating that SINCE 1975 BYU
is 10-3 in Logan. Obvioulsy the 10 in a row stat was completely ignored as well
as understanding that SINCE means from a certain time to the PRESENT. Haha,
smh."Hysterical! Speaking of, "stay current", I'm
reminded of witnessing byu fan all over multiple websites before playing against
Texas in 2011, exclaiming the following--"We own Texas!
We're 2-0 against them! Therefore, we're going to beat them again in
2011!"Forget about the fact that the only 2 games previously
played between the 2 schools took place in 1987 and 1988! Yep, 1987/1988 were
100% relevant and in line with, "stay current"!Hysterical!
AZUTE:Yes, your spin is hysterical indeed. You try and make a jab about
how BYU "avoids Logan like the plague" because of one poor game where
they lost, so Wiscoug points out to you that losing up there isn't the norm
as BYU OWNS Utah state (in Logan and Provo). Then you want to say that history
is irrelevant while at the same time arguing that it is and that's why BYU
won't go up there (because of one poor game 3 yrs ago)?...hysterical
indeed. Your arguments are tangential and contradictory. If you want to jab BYU
for playing poorly somewhere, don't pick USU and Logan, that was YOUR
mistake. Wiscoug was merely trying to correct you with an accurate portrayal of
how BYU typically performs in Logan...not your crimson skewed one. Also,
concerning the present, you act as if USU is the only school that's
improved from 2010. BYU has also...wait, were we looking at history 3 yrs ago,
or talking about the present? I'm not sure which direction you're
going PRESENTLY. "Hysterical!"Bottom line SINCE 1975 (not 40
yrs ago...SINCE...and not 2 wins in 87/88) BYU owns the aggies in Logan.
I am sensing a lot of jealous and scared ute fans on these threads now days. I
think they sense that this will be yet another failed season so they are getting
their pot-shots in early to detract from the train wreck on the hill.
Down under is spot on. There are a lot of itchy fingers out there to deflect
attention to the mess on the hill, both in football and basketball. BYU will
own Utah in all aspects of the game this year. They will not look past the
little brother this year. It will be a total beat down.
Van noy is the real deal and will give BYU another first round pick if he stays
healthy. I don't watch a lot of pro ball, so glad to see he stayed
for his senior year.
