Our CIA, NSA and other forms of INTELLIGENCE should have known that in the world
they live in. This is a disgrace to their profession that politicians make a
heyday out of it over the past 2 plus years. We should also be ashamed that
political gain is not what we want as the world's leader. We are letting
our politicians in Washington, D.C. make a shambles of our 200 plus years as a
power for good, not appearing good. Sometimes, you need to make the right move
for the good of the country. In fact, it is not sometimes, it should be every
second of the day. We have a lot of people in our country that died for the
cause of liberty and freedoms. There is not a guarantee of justice as we see
from a lot of the Supreme Court decisions made in the past 50 years for
political correctness instead of the Constitution of the United States of
America. These men and women on the court will have to answer for their
decisions and Congress' lack of action in doing something for our Founding
Fathers. The President always talks about going over a line.
Of course it didn't. Did anyone really think that much change would
happen in months or even years? If they did, they were lying to themselves.Lets look at the US. In the Civil war we had where Blacks were
"given" their freedom, it took nearly 100 years for the Black community
to fully realize the benefits of what was fought for in the 1800s.So
why would any reasonable person think major changes like religious freedom in
the middle east would take even just a small fraction of time to be realized?
Hopefully it will not take 100 years... but by following the example here in the
states, any expectation less then that would be being very optimistic.
It is amazing how really ignorant all our so called smart leaders think they
are. No one bothers to read-I mean really read. History is something that
happened yesterday. Americans have very little sense of world history. We do
not connect the dots. Islam will never be about Democracy-it is a Theocracy.
Of course Muslims want to live in a Democracy - then they want us to become like
them. The questions is why-our politicians tried to convince the American
public the Arab Spring was never about religious freedom.
It is not just the United States that doesn't understand history. We have
the ability to learn from almost anywhere, even without a library. We have the
world's largest information network available to most anyone but the media
has lulled people's minds to blissful reality TV that isn't reality.
Teachers have some restrictions or districts apply restrictions on
what can be said and done in school and especially the text book writers that
have 1984 and Fahrenheit 451 on the move. Our leaders used to be
trusted or at least trusted more than now, even in Utah. There isn't
really local news anymore with substance without national flavors.
That's because the Arab spring is as much or more about increasing
individual freedom, not religious freedom. If anything, what they seek is
freedom from their oppressive religious leadership. Religion is the cause, not
Widespread unrest foes not automatically translate into religious, economic or
political freedom. It was gullible media and political elites who
assumed that just because the "Arab Spring" wanted to throw out new set
of tyrants, that they were automatically going to install something that looked
like western democracy. They failed to realize that the majority of the
disgruntled Arabs were Islamic fundamentalists. Their vision of
"improved" conditions means adherence to Sharia law in a theocracy.Sharia and Islam have been proven to NOT be the path to western style
democracy, economic or religious freedom. Why we supported the Arab Spring is a
mystery. The fact that we think that the Syrian rebels, demonstrably
linked to radical Islam, are worth supporting is not only a mystery, but a
travesty. Sarah Palin was right- this is a fight where we should sit back and
let Allah sort it out. It is not worth a drop of American blood or one
(borrowed!) dollar to be involved in that fight.
A country dominated by “people of the book” does not protect the
rights of people who believe in another book or think they are all just books?
“I’m shocked, SHOCKED to find that gambling is going on
REAL religion -- the kind that teaches and inspires -- is by invitation only. I
wonder how many arabs know the difference between religion of personal
individual acceptance through invitation, and the predominant arab religion that
teaches unrighteous dominion through force and coercion.
Women who get raped in Moslem countries are as free as they always have been to
be stoned or go to prison for having sex for someone other than a man they are
What? Religious freedom did NOT increase during the 'Arab Spring'?Hmmmm.....Want to know who predicted that it would not?Glenn Beck.Yeah, that's right, THAT Glenn Beck.Glenn Beck: most of the time he gets it absolutely right. And, yes,
that's why liberals can't stand the guy.
@TylerD ... "People of the Book" is a term the Koran uses to describe
non-Muslims. Muslims are safer in countries dominated by such.
