No mention of Homeland security buying 1.6 billon bullets and how it caused the
Prelax, let's see some solid documentation of that claim. On the
other hand, isn't hate radio fueled paranoia FUN?
It's not a fear of losing gun rights...We're getting ready
for the zombie apocolypse!!!Just wait until the movie "World War
Z" opens, then everyone will be buying guns!!!Oh and remember
the machete! Good for close quarters self defense.(Now watch the
machete sales go through the roof)By the way folks, the .22 is not a
good Zombie killer round.
I haven't heard hate radio since I left California. It was crazy the stuff
al sharp ton would say on the radio. I would've bought a lot of guns and
ammo had I stayed there. Scary hate speech.I just listen to Espn,
Glenn beck and local commentators now. Much better and I don't feel scared
like it need to go arm myself to the brink.I did listen to some
speeches from some democratic congressmen (and a congresswoman too), and that
scared me. If I hear speeches like that saying they should ban nearly all
firearms, I wlll definitely buy a lot, because it is only the stupid person who
thinks that they would stop once they eliminate the second ammendment. The first
really wouldn't be far behind.
President Obama has done more for the gun and ammunition industry than anyone
can imagine.Gun and ammunition purchases are skyrocketing.
One old man, documentation of what? That DHS bought 1.6 billion bullets, or
that it caused a shortage? Because DHS has publicly admitted to that purchase.
Given the number of potential threats to our right to bear arms and our freedom
on the whole, I'm not a bit surprised by the rush and subsequent shortage.
To claim the column is not 'political,' when its premise is Americans
are so angry about President Obama being reelected they are stocking up on guns
and ammunition is disingenuous. It should be noted that all of the
sources are either gun and ammunition sellers or a Right Wing opinion site
(CNSNews). The ATF confirms background checks are up, but it also confirms
that most buyers of guns are people who already own multiple guns. In fact,
only about 30% of American households own guns currently. The proportion has
been falling for years. That means gun sellers must sell that second, sixth or
sixteenth gun to someone who already is armed. Encouraging fear is a way to
achieve that goal. Meanwhile, President Obama's approval rating remains
above 50%.What will become of these stockpiles of weapons? Largely,
they will gather dust. Since the Feds are not coming for much of anyone, they
will not be used. Unfortunately, some of those newly armed or multiple weapon
households will experience homicides and suicides with a lethal means more
We live in a police state. This country is not what it used to be. The gun and
ammo frenzy has been caused because of the peoples' distrust of this
government and especially this corrupt administration. No one believes obama is
rightfully the president. No one trusts the tens of thousands of muslims
residing in our country. No one wants 11 to 20 million illegals to receive
amnesty. This country is becoming a one-party ruled government. The
socialist/democrat/communist party is destroying our country, The Constitution
and our freedoms thus people are purchasing guns and ammo at an alarming rate. I
hope they continue to do so even without government intrusion and scrutiny.
What's even sadder is that I don't hear Orrin Hatch speak up against
the DHS' actions. Is he now part of the problem?
Belief is only what you can count on or depend on. All the guns and bullets said
a lot about our elected.
No mention of Homeland Security buying up ammo ? Why ?
@prelaxMurray, UT"No mention of Homeland security buying
1.6 billon bullets and how it caused the shortage?"Probably
wasn't mentioned because it's a right-wing urban myth. You're
confusing government solicitations for bids, used for long-term contracts to
purchase ammunition for several agencies over a period of years with an actual
purchase, which hasn't been made. The real reason for the shortage is
panic buying by right-wing gun owners who are filling their basements with cases
of ammo to get ready for armed insurrection if the wrong guy gets elected next
On the issue of 22 ammo shortages I've heard guys in the gun show entrance
lines have overstocked on the bullets to sell them on the Internet for $100 or
more a brick (500 rds). Some of the shortage is this kind of hoarding but
overall the CIA, NSA, and other spy agency's are buying all the ammo bullet
makers can make leaving a trickle for consumers. This is a verified and admitted
fact from the spy agency's who is also destroying more bullets than they
can keep in storage or use, also confirmed.Ammo manufactures cannot
divulge how many they are selling to government but so many calibers of guns are
so uncommon that a hoarder would not bother with trying to supply such a small
market and so much cash money on to specialty bullets. Since all calibers in all
stores have disappeared its feasible that the presidential regime and its high
level of covert contempt for our Bill of Rights he calls terrorist documents and
threat to his oppression, its cheaper to remove and destroy the bullets than
confiscate all the guns made.Where have all the bullets gone? Only
the manufacturers know and not saying.
Reload, and make your own bullets. Start buying lead.
I agree with Ironmomo, although I don't agree with who is responsible.
This media frenzy and the deaths by guns have fed right into the NRA and gun
industry. Time to raise the prices on guns and ammo, boys!
Of course there is a high demand for ammo and firearms. Never in my lifetime
have I seen an administration or a president that has openly shown such
arrogant, open disdain for the rights and beliefs and traditional values of
average Americans and for the Constitution as we have now. Neutering or totally
eliminating the 2nd amendment is the holy grail for these elitist progressives.
As long as we retain the ability to protect ourselves, there power and control
is incomplete. That pesky 2nd amendment is the only thing keeping them from
toppling the rest of the Constitution and moving us, like Europe, under
international law. That is their goal.
EliyahuHomeland security bought over 100 years worth of ammunition.
And it wasn't practice rounds, most were hollow point. They are not allowed
in war, their only use would be for civilians. What are they going
to do with them?
President Obama promised to create jobs. Well, he sure did a good job with the
weapons and ammo industry. If the NRA doesn't vote him "Salesman of
the Year," then they are an ungrateful bunch.
one old man:I would suggest doing some homework before asking
someone else to do it for you.
