    Good idea. It's called networking and "word of mouth" may end up mining a hidden gem whether it be domestic or foreign.

    Yeah I think this is a good strategy. It is surprising sometimes, even with all the scouts and technology that players without a lot of notoriety can become good NBA players. We should all remember Wes Mathews that wasn't drafted but the Jazz brought in to camp, and look at him now. We need a lot of players and maybe this will bring 1 or 2 that can help this team.

    I agree with the above comments. Being in a small NBA market, the Jazz have to do their work like this to keep up with the bigger markets. San Antonio has been doing this successfully for years.

    By the way, the article mentions DeMarre Carroll. Hopefully the Jazz management will re-sign him. He is one of those gems referred to above, who isn't afraid to mix it up, do the dirty work, etc. And the guy has a tremendous attitude.

    this is how the Spurs got Gary Neal...and it seems Lindsey is implementing the same strategy of getting good role players at a budget price...
