From some of the mock drafts, there are several players to be aware of that the
Jazz appear to be interested in. Dieng from Louisville (Senegal)(6 ft 11) has a
wingspan of 7 ft 4. Shane Larkin, the jr. point guard from Miami, looks very
quick in workout tapes. He is 5 ft 11, humble, and the son of Barry Larkin, Reds
Hall of Famer, who attended Notre Dame. He is also the nephew of a Larkin who
was a big time shooting guard at Xavier. He could develop. There is also a funny
comment attributed to him in regard to why he gave up baseball. He was taught to
hit by Tony Perez and Johnnie Bench. A baseball coach told him that he had
terrible form and that whoever taught him didn't know what they were doing.
Finally, there was a scouting tape for Dennis Schroder, German point guard
(German-African American), who has been linked to Utah. He is 6 ft 1, 190, 19
years old. He has lots of raw talent with no real competition. He has a good
"hesitation dribble" and shoots threes well. However, his mid range
abilities are vastly underdeveloped.
Good analysis JBQ. I hope they dont go for a big with the 14th pick unless
someone as good as Zeller falls. If Burke falls past #5 they need to be on the
phone moving up, otherwise I would be happy with Larkin/Schroder or another pg
at 14 then maybe =Withey (center from KU) or Tim Hardaway, Jr with the next
pick. 2nd round pick is usually someone you would never guess but I'd like
to see Brandon Davies or another shooter like Reggie Bullock.
JBQ,Maybe you mean African-German? I don't think Schroeder is
