My son fortunately just got his Eagle, because as of now, we are done with
@grinchpiggy: Whatever happened to "a scout is kind?"
@SASWhatever happened to a scout is "morally straight".?
My sons have lost interest in scouts over the last few years so it wont be any
big deal not attending anymore. If it cant support the morally straight against
the gay rights agenda than it isnt worth supporting anymore. They can just do YM
and not have to cave thier morals to appease the society today. The Gay rights
groups wont stop until they have gay leaders too. What i want to know is what
are they gonna do when an actual girl wants to scout. Guess they cant exactly
tell them no either.
Help me understand! In the last LDS conference the church was about, the world
was changing and we need to be more aware of our surroundings and choices.
According to the LDS church, they just took the easy way out, definitely not the
road less traveled. The church is better than that. I would hope the LDS church
would reconsider the choice of words and put out a better explanation. If a Gay
person told his Bishop they were gay, they would be excommunicated.
Many seem to misunderstand what really happened in this vote. The LGBT
community seem to believe that actively gay boys of scouting age will now be
admitted to membership in the NBSA. The LDS community holds the position that
young men of scouting age can participate if they subscribe to moral behavior,
meaning that the young man is not sexually active in any heterosexual or any
homosexual relationships. There is a big difference between those who
openly identify themselves as "gay," and those who live life dealing
circumspectly with same sex attraction. One is in a state of rebellion, and the
other must deal with temptation. Don't we all?
