The Honeymoon appears to be over the President as news people who some are
journalists don't like these subversive actions in their handling of these
subpoenas. This President wants to distance himself from these actions but he
needs to govern and not be gallivanting around the world making us look bad in
almost everything he touches. He doesn't know how to govern and manage his
own life let alone our life and existence. He has surrounded himself with non-
competent people who can't lead and guide people. We don't
need more federalism with this man governing as President. The other day he was
supporting his IRS commissioner and now he is gone when these events were known
before now and should have been known by individuals being attacked months ago.
What the IRS does impacts people's life/lifestyle from implications they
cause through irrevocable actions, even if they withdraw them later. The damage
is done to innocent people. It is like reading the Diary of Anne Frank when the
government had information on the people chosen or selected to be discharged
from life. The Press realizing what the administration will do to
The first people to go in the historical context of non democratic regimes
worldwide were the intellectuals, the religious leaders and representatives of
the free press. Amazing how the national liberal media continue to dig at their
own graves by protecting the very administration that would bury them. Perhaps
this matter will be an eye opener. The responsibility of the press to protect
the American public against such acts has been missing. We all need to have
faith in their responsibility to carry out their freedoms which have now been
Give it one more week and things will be back to normal. Congress
does not have the moral courage to start the impeachment process and the press
will once again be eating out of Obama's hand.
@tooFirst there would need to be an impeachable offense and despite
all the raging from the right there has not been one but keep trying it took
almost 8 years and a billion dollies to catch Clinton in a lie about a private
affair that had nothing to do with government, time and money well spent right?
There will be some liberals whose eyes will be opened, and will now look upon
this administration with, perhaps, some distrust. There will be other
liberals who continue to support this president no matter what he, or his
administration does, even though they would be highly critical of a conservative
administration doing the same thing. As this article notes,
however, there has not previously been an offense of this nature. This appears
to have been a first-time offense in our nations history. How will we
respond?I think it would be wise to respond by looking more closely
at what Obama says, does, and intends to do. Hopefully the mainstream press
will report more fully and more balanced. In another 3 years the
next campaign will officially begin and we will hopefully choose wisely.
Putting aside the question of whether the DOJ overstepped its bounds in this
case, the fact is that the journalists who published the leak about the covert
antiterror operation put lives at risk and damaged America's international
relations. The editors who allowed the story to go to press are complicit in the
affair. This kind of irresponsible journalism serves no public interest and in
fact does real harm. In a country where the consitution guarantees freedom of
the press, there may be no legal recourse when private entities obtain and
exercise such poor judgment with sensitive information, but the public ought to
send a clear message to the media that this kind of carelessness is
George,Let's see what he has done, which in fact, does merit
impeachment.1. Emails were released yesterday on Benghazi that the
WH and State department took out any references to terrorism for the cause of
the attack. They later, a few weeks later, said it was terrorism after weeks of
blaming a video. They arrested the man who was said to have made the video, and
he remains in jail today.2. They lied about this video and arrested
an innocent man. Even if this video were to cause the attack, they have no right
to arrest him--it's called freedom of speech. If I want to make an anti
Muslim video, it's my right. Now that they admit it had nothing to do, why
don't they release the guy?3. IRS targeting conservatives. How
is that not illegal. And then of course he denies knowledge. Does he have
knowledge of anything? He didn't know about the IRS, he blatantly lied
about the video, and he didn't know a thing about the AP? What's he
do all day? Does he not have knowledge of what his people do?
Eric Holder will continue to have the confident smug look on his face and can
continue to obfuscate to congress with impunity from the press. Why?
... He, President Obama, the Associated Press and the US State Department work
for the same Wall Street banker/big government monopoly of power and money.Always remember, big government works for the Wall Street bankers who
float all the bonds that underwrite government spending programs and take their
percentage on every dollar of big government debt. So, big government
spending and Marxist philosophers, who work at all the big name Universities,
and then get picked for executive positions in the US government and state
department, will continue to lead the people of the US along the path of the
'creeping socialism' that President Ezra Taft Benson and J. Rueben
Clark warned Americans about throughout their lifetimes..the'30s,
'40s, '50s, '60s, '70s, and now the warning comes through
Utah's Representatives in Congress and the Senate. The big
government/banking monopoly launders their money through elite tax exempt
foundations (501 3cs) which fund 'progressive/socialist' action
This scandal makes Americans long for the good old days of Alberto Gonzales and
the Bush administration where corruption and contempt were worn as a badges of
honor on your sleeve.
Ticking off the press, is a bad move. He will see.
Naive voters of this last election are now getting what they voted for. Romney
and many others tried to warn voters what this press-coddled administration
really is... something that talks a good talk, but often delivers something very
different. Most of it's malfeasance has been downplayed by the liberal
press. But now it's hitting them directly and hopefully opening a lot of
liberal eyes to what many of us have suspected or known for years.
Contrary to popular myth promoted by some in the press, a right for the press to
protect the confidentiality of news sources does not exist. The First Amendment
was never meant to give the press a special dispensation from the rule of law.
George, I think that President Obama should be impeached for his gun
running. But as we know, he invoked executive privilege. My main problem with
this is that if there had been more investigation, not only would President
Obama have impeachable offenses but George W. would have ended up in jail too. I
believe the investigation would have led to a corruption in the government that
had not been seen in decades. Politicians protect their own too often.
Remember the Utah legislators giving one of their own a standing ovation for hot
tubbing with an under age girl?
"....President Obama should be impeached for his gun running. But as we
know, he invoked executive privilege...."______________________________Obama's 'gun running'
(Fast and Furious) was a sting operation whose objective was to track the flow
of guns in hope that the trail would lead to kingpins of Mexico's drug
cartels. As we all know, it went very badly and a Federal agent was killed.
Incompetence? Perhaps. But calling it gun running makes me wonder which comic
books some people read to stay abreast of current events.
This administration, particularly Obama and Holder, are built largely on a
foundation of plausible deniability. Now that the press has been stung by them,
perhaps the press will stop accepting "I learned about (fill in the
controversy here) just like the regular folks - on the news last week!"
What do you call a sting operation whose objective is to track the flow of guns,
wherein the flow of guns is not, in fact, tracked? A "gun running"
operation by any other name, smells just as bad. The administration
also has more rosy-smelling names for illegal wiretapping, Benghazi incompetence
and cover-up, sluggish economy, unrelentingly high unemployment, extremist
Islamic terrorist, government spending in a time of unsustainable debt, etc.,
etc. Nicer names don't change what they really are.
Maybe Gun Running is not the accurate name for what Presidents Bush and Obama
did but it was nonetheless immoral or unethical. My point is not to talk
about that particular situation. My point is that our government has some very
corrupt parts. We are a good country. We could be a great country if our leaders
just had some integrity and values. By allowing so much money into campaigns,
politicians cannot be honest. It is not possible. There is nobody who will bite
the hand that feeds them. I don't believe more laws are the answer. I would
just like to see honest reporting. I would like to get the facts and then be
able to decide for myself. Facts are nearly impossible to find though.
too,I think the house has enough sense not to waste the money on
impeachment because they know the senate does not have the integrity to convict
- just like they did not convict clinton for lying to a federal judge about
sexual harrassment that occured in the whitehouse. But then we know George and
all the other libs have no problem with sexual harrassment or lying to federal
Blame Congress. Seriously. Write your Congressman.Congress gave
broad powers for the government to watch citizens... monitor emails, phone
records, texts. They gave these powers thinking they were going to have a
Republican president. Well, a Democrat got re-elected and guess what? He used
those powers. You can't be upset about it, because you voted in the
Congressmen who tossed the 4th Amendment right out the window. What did you
think that big government data facility is that they're building here in
Utah? A place to store data on foreigners? Funny.
Moderate, You hit the nail on the head.
We read here and elsewhere that the media is getting fed up with Obama.
Balderdash! Barack Obama is their guy to the end. If not, they would be
screaming to the rafters for his impeachment as they did with Richard Nixon and,
to some degree, George W. Bush. That is not to suggest the media isn't
peeved with B.O. because many are. They just want him to straighten out and be
the activist, left-wing ideologue they thought he was rather than the lazy,
uninvolved, mostly absent-without-leave character he has turned out to be. They
recognize a president can’t delegate leadership.
TOO - Not only that, but what about the other deaths that ensued BECAUSE of the
bogus video scapegoat? Have we forgotten that Hillary and Barack's
finger-pointing became the impetus for further riots and uprisings throughout
the middle east which resulted in more death? Is anyone even bothering to count
that loss of life???
