Not a BYU fan, but I have a lot of respect for LaVell. I wish the current coach
at the Y would learn a thing or two from LaVell.
Best football coach the state has ever had. All the best to Coach Edwards.
Best wishes to Coach Edwards. Hopint he is golfing a decade from now.
@Mount OlympusThat's a rather disingenuous comment. Your not a fan
of BYU but you respect LaVell but you don't like Bronco because he
hasn't learned to be LaVell? What "thing or two" would you like
Coach Mendenhall to learn from LaVell? If he learns them would you now have
respect for Coach Mendenhall? Or is this just a forum for you to express
anonymous disrespect for some one you don't really know? Maybe, Coach
Mendenhall already has learned the "thing or two" and you don't
know it. Actually like to hear answers on this one because it really sounds
like you wanted to attack Coach Mendenhall as a non-BYU fan (which it's
okay to be) but you wrapped your self in an iconic coaches reputation to make
your self seem similarly respectable. I await your reasoned comments
LaVell surrounded himself with great coaches and won over everybody with his
humble, likable personality. He's been a great embassador nationally for
BYU and the Church. The guy is just a good person.
I like Ron McBride and I am not a U or Weber fan. L. Edward and Ron McBride are
great guys no matter what. As for Bronco which I understand he doesn't know
how to golf but can you inmagine seeing L. Edward Surfing? I am sure Kyle
Whitingham would try out surfing with Bronco just for fun. Glad he is
Blaine Fowler was an amazing BYU quarterback...that series he had in the
national title game was a thing of beauty. He is no way anything even close to
Gifford, Marc Wilson, Jim McMahon, Steve Young, Robbie Bosco, Ty Detmer or Steve
