I have two very similar stories to this one. Yes, God does answer prayers in his
own time and way, and often to teach a lesson of humility!
There is more power in prayer than most of us realize. I know that I'm
guilty of trying to work out things myself and only turning to God as a last
resort. I do not believe that is the way it is supposed to work. We need to do
our part for sure, but having more faith in the Lord Jesus Christ is something
that I know myself and many others need to improve upon. We all lack wisdom in
decisions that we are making and James 1:5 is for every child of God to realize
that God will give us wisdom if we humble ourselves and ask like a child. Thank you for this story and for not solving the problem by pulling a
quarter out of your pocket and solving this prayer by taking the simple route.
The mother's and the son's faith were both increased and it would not
have happened if the mother had been too busy to really invest the time in
helping with the search or lacked the faith to keep going even when the last
quarter was more difficult to find than anticipated.
I received an answer to a prayer about my lost wedding ring, and was able to get
it back through inspiration and through the help of another person who was very
Where's the "LOVE" button! My mom was ALWAYS losing her keys. We
knew all we had to do was pray and they would turn up. They always did. When I was about 4or5 years old and my sister was 6or7, we lived in
Ridgecrest, CA on the edge of the Mohave Desert. We prayed that it would snow
for Christmas and it did!! I think it was the first time in recorded history.
There was about 2 inches of snow on the cactus and desert sand.I
didn't know why my mom was so surprised! We always found the keys, why
woukd it snow in the desert if we prayed for it? Good thing she did not
discourage us from praying for something that she thought was an impossibility.
