Roger was ahead of his time in many ways - including social media. Long before the Internet became available to the public he used computer bulletin boards like CompuServe to carrying on discussions with anyone who wished to join. Long before Facebook and other similar sites, Roger formed online relationships with people he never met and kept in regular contact. Over a quarter of century ago, a casual email to Roger with a suggestion for his show led to a long correspondence on movies and other topics. He knew how to write at the speed of light, and I often wondered if he ever slept. It was wonderful matching wits with him. He was an impressive and generous man who I will miss a great deal.
