Are they listening to the lame duck congressman West. He appears to be on their
The real local question is whether or not the Senior U.S. Senator from Utah,
Orin Hatch will continue his recent value-based, conservative tilt or return his
past bipartisan, impartial approach of seeking qualified appointees to the U.S.
Supreme Court. Will the real Orin Hatch please stand up.
Utah's Congresscritters yowl about "activist" courts if there is a
decision they think is "liberal."Then they try as hard as
they can to stack the deck with "conservative" judges. But
it's not an "activist" court if its decisions are on the
Question. What position did this guy argue concerning DOMA?
Bet on Lee to vote no. Hatch will look at the whip count first. The GOP are not
moving the business of the country forward.
Let's keep the regression going! Re-elect Lee!
To "lost in DC", the concern I have with your comment is that lawyers
are paid to represent their clients in an adversarial system as we have.
Respresenting a client and arguing their point of view is the job. It is not
right, or fair, to judge an attorney based on the client's position. Do so
and we undermine our judicial system.
Yes, Lee should be re-elected. Not because of regression, but because of the
progression he has initiated and supported thus far in his term. He was elected
in the first place because of his unwavering support of constitutional based
principles and freedoms. It seems to bother some, such as the always cynical and
sarcastic Ernest Bass, that Lee is bold enough to not cow-toe to the liberal
left agenda. We elected Lee to stop the regression this nation has been on and
has accelerated under the current administration. Obama picks and chooses which
laws his liberal agenda wants to follow. He ignores the system whenever it
serves his needs, such as when he by-passed congress when pushing his
immigration agenda, knowing it couldn't pass muster with the established
legal process.Yes, Lee really does need to be re-elected... and many
more like him. It's the only way this nation will ever get back to what it
was that made it the greatest in the world, and the envy of it. Unfortunately,
not so much lately, thanks to our recent socialistic leanings.
Ok, so this article tells us a whole lot of nothing as to what the beliefs of
this nominee are. So what if he argued the recent case in the Supreme Court.
What side was he on? What were his arguments in favor of the position he
espoused. If you are going to write an article, make it an in depth article,
not something you'd see on Entertainment Tonight.I can't
even make a reasoned case for or against this person because of the lack of
knowlege.By the way you Orrin bashers, he's kept way more bad
nominees off of the court than he's let on it.
@one old manThat is because conservatives actually follow the
constitution.Liberals and progressives, of either party, do not.See the difference?
